We just graduated from college and had to move to Silver Spring. My friend looked online for moving companies and got 3 different quotes for loading, transporting and unloading our 2 bedroom apt. It was actually the lowest quote so I wasn't expecting too much. Being on a budget, we were limited in what we could pay but still wanted a company with good reputation and track record or customer satisfaction so my friend did good research but still for the great price I was hoping to just get decent or good service but wow were we pleasantly surprised with outstanding service that just blew my mind. The office was very friendly when calling or emailing and asking them questions and even was able to add on a last minute request for packing help that saved us. We were so far behind in our packing and organizing and would never had made it without their help. I was freaking out that we would have to pay apartment extra for missing elevator window and paying for an extra day, but they were able to come through and even provided us with boxes. Every dish, glass, picture was wrapped and packed very carefully with zero damage. What these 2 guys did in just over 3 hours was amazing and the best part was that we were already scheduled for elevator and this kept us on schedule! It's important to mention that all 4 guys were friendly and had great positive attitude. We had 2 teams one for packing and another for moving. They were both on time and so experienced and knowledgeable. We joked around a lot too while getting the job done and the whole experience that I had dreaded ended up being fun, it was like good friends were helping us move. Even though we added the packing service at the last minute, it only added a little over $200 to bill and was a lifesaver. Everything was done in a timely manner. We were actually able to get done before estimated time. Again, both teams were very helpful and friendly and had a professional attitude. I did not have much moving experience before this, but I would definitely recommend DC Top Choice Movers to anyone that is trying to move. This team is great! First off, I didn't call them until the Friday before the Monday I needed to move -- spoke with their lead, Robin, and found him very responsive, willing, flexible... and I say flexible because I changed the moving "plan" several times over the course of the weekend -- and he was consistently in touch (I was a bit distracted with a sick husband and child), without pressuring me, but working to ensure it would go smoothly when we made the move. He assigned a great two-man crew (Paul and Cliff) to our job, which was not exactly Point A to B, but rather Point A to B to C to D... and it was super to have them drive our 26' U-Haul truck around DC for us (like we were going to attempt that ourselves--ha!). They knew the area very well. Paul and Cliff were nothing but courteous, super careful, considerate and open to any suggestions on how we wanted things done. They were extremely timely in getting started, and dilligent and fast in getting the job done--even though it took 9 hours! Our starting point was offloading much of the U-Haul into a 10x15' storage unit -- and we had more than enough to fill it to the brim -- and Paul and Cliff did just that. They were super at carefully organizing items to efficiently fill the storage space. It all went in in a strategic and orderly fashion. We even enjoyed visiting with Paul and Cliff over a lunch of Subway subs, truly nice guys! We will be moving again in the next year and we will definitely call this team again! Thanks guys! These guys are GARBAGE.... got in touch with them 3 days before and said they want more money because our bed is too big... WEAK business model trying to get an up-sell on a phone call... tried to tell me that because I couldn't guarantee my bed weighs less than 200lbs that he has to send 3 guys when I pre-paid for two. I stated I would be helping with the bed.... "Oh nope, cant have you do that, its a liability" THATS WHY I HIRED YOU - TO COME HELP ME..... spoke to a "robin" that was RUDE and unprofessional. Left me hanging on the phone, because he was "writing something down". At the end of the conversation I was told they were cancelling the job because "robin" was being yelled at for not coming through with what they were HIRED TO DO. This was the WORST experience of hiring someone to do a job I have EVER DEALT WITH. WEAK STATUS isn't justice to the level of unprofessional courtesy that was given. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING UP-SOLD AFTER YOU PRE-PAY.......garbage company with garbage people working for them obviously, I would never hire these guys..... ever..... **UPDATE** Then after all was said and done.... they send emails out and they tried to say that their company was threatened which is a FLAT OUT LIE.... typical after they get FIRED they have to send an email saying they were threatened.... total garbage and further evidence these people are full of it......low integrity, low value company... typical..... read more

We used DC Top Choice Movers for an apartment move to a townhouse on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. The various communications from and to Robin were very informative allowing us to have the proper moving equipment and packaging items. (Note: Due to the truck rental company's low inventory we only had 6 out of the 24 furniture pads requested and the team worked through that without issue!) The Moving Team, Keith & Jordan, were timely (arriving at 8am). They were both efficient, courteous, professional & concerned about the handling of our items throughout the entire move! The truck we had was loaded and all our items were unloaded without any damage. The placement of items in the house was beyond our expectations which made it so easy for us to unpack. In advance, I had marked boxes & furniture items for a few staging areas and all the items were placed accordingly without having to slow the unload process by discussing the placement of assorted items. We so appreciated their efforts in this area! DC Top Choice Movers was an excellent choice and will remain our go to company for future moves in the area and we will not hesitate to recommend them to others! I moved in with my 15ft Uhaul with car in tow on New Year's Eve. These guys saved the day! First they waited for me as I arrived later then I had expected, driving the Uhaul was very slow!, and these guys were amazing. They were able to maneuver the truck and trailer in tow so skillfully it was amazing to watch (after having driven 500+ miles only able to drive forward!) They emptied out the truck in the allotted time, remember it was New Year's Eve, and they worked till close to 10pm! I am so forever grateful to them for getting us moved in that evening as logistically wise having to deal with a hotel/parking the truck another night would've been bad. Communication with team leader Robin was great via texting. My move happened very quickly so again was very appreciative of the communication, rates and availability of this team. The guys helped me park this beastly Uhaul in the loading area with the trailer for the evening which really helped me out the next day. There was no damage to my furniture from these movers. They were focused/efficient and again I appreciate so much that they helped me out on this holiday move. I'd definitely hire them again. They were fantastic! read more

My fiancé and I used this service to move apartments in Alexandria. He and his friend had used the service before and had a perfectly pleasant experience. The same was not true this time around. The packing team was one man short so we had just one guy show up to pack up 5 rooms; he spent 5 out of 6 hours just packing up the kitchen! JUST THE KITCHEN! We had to call two to come over to help us pack up the other rooms before the movers arrived! The movers got there on time but did an unimpressive job loading the truck (kept missing items that we had to point out were supposed to be loaded, did not wrap furniture in blankets, didn't perform an inventory). Our new place was about 3 miles from the old place, and within that 3 miles they managed to damage 5 pieces of furniture. Our end table was scratched, our book shelf and headboard broken, and the couch ruined. Robin exhibited an attitude over the phone when we called to complain about our service and reconcile the bill. I used to be in the military and have experienced many different moves over the years; this was the worst moving experience I have ever had! read more

I have to completely disagree with the bad experience Sukhi placed on this company. Robin was incredibly helpful and ensured our move went very smooth. Not only was the move seamless but they did it during a snowstorm! Throughout the entire process Robin remained in touch and ensured that the move was going according to plan. When the job was found to be bigger than originally anticipated, additional help was called in to ensure the job was completed in a single day. All of the workers worked continuously at a steady pace - I do not feel they were slacking off to "work" extra hours. We did have some difficulty getting our treadmill out of the basement but they assisted with dissasembly and we got the thing out the door. All of our antique furniture was handled with the utmost care - we had no damage from the move. I do recommend you use this company. read more

I honestly could not have been more impressed with DC Top Choice Movers. Not only were they easy to work with in terms of scheduling; but the team Robin sent out (Chris and Athus) were super professional, personable, and took excellent care of both my furniture and the house that I was in the process of selling. I couldn't find a single mark on any wall once the move was over and my furniture was very well cared for. George and Eddie were running late on the job ahead of mine. They called to give me a heads up - and, then, George called back and had made arrangements to arrive on time. They pulled in at exactly the same time I arrived with the UHaul. Very professional and efficient ... we were loaded and under way in less than 30 minutes. A 5-minute trip to the storage unit and, 30 minutes later, done. I had plenty of communication from the company ahead of time, will use this group again in the future, and have even had some very professional follow up emails. OMG, this company was on point from the very 1st encounter. The scheduling lady as efficient in getting me scheduled with a 2 day notice (on a Sunday at that). Then the owner that I spoke with was honest and informed me of the best deal for my move (not overcharging me). Then the day of the move, the drivers called well in advance to confirm the location, not only arrived on-time (but were early) and ready to start. Joseph and Paul were my movers, and they were extremely nice and professional. It unexpectedly began raining, and continued to rain throughout the entire 5 hour move, and they still managed to be fast and efficient. They brought plastic wrap to protect all of my furniture. Also, I rented a Uhaul, which I was slightly uncomfortable driving, they made sure to drive the truck after loading it to the next location, and then maneuvered it out of a difficult parking spot just to make things easier for me. Moving can be a real pain, especially when you get to the furniture...Last weekend Joseph and Rob moved me. I had some things I didn't think could be moved without getting damaged, a huge china cabinet and a treadclimber. They moved them with no problem, without any damage and did it so quickly. They took the bed frame apart, wrapped all of the items and used the blankets to protect anything that would get damaged. They were pleasant, nice to work with, and had a great attitude.
