I ordered two dinners: one with baked chicken breast and wing, yams, mac and cheese, and dessert…read more The second dinner was turkey chops, fried/baked, with broccoli, dressing with cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, and dessert. The food was very good, and the seasoning was just right for us. This was my first time trying this soul food restaurant, and it's not far from where we live. I really appreciated the service and enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be back again!

My Experience: Their fried food is cooked ahead and sits and dries out in the steamer. It appears over fried. Salmon patties, are an unusual offering for a carryout buffet, and one of my favorites, but inconsistent in size. I saw a photo from 2023/2024 store opening with nice and big patties. I have never received patties any where close to that size! Also, can be over done. Turkey chops are fair but size is inconsistent and on the dry side. You need the specialty gravy they provide. I just don't feel excited about the meats available. One day, I will creep outside of my comfort zone and try other meats. I read a review that the pot roast is tasty. Their sides are usually satisfying. I need to explore a couple more options. I would rate this establishment as average.

This was the absolute WORST food I've ever purchased from a restaurant. I am so disappointed that I…read moredidn't check this order before leaving because I would have certainly demanded a refund. The plantains were burnt. The four small oxtails were drowning in oil and the jollof rice was overcooked to the point of mush and tasted like ricearoni. This is a one and done for sure- I do not recommend. Also I ordered inside the store at the counter and was forced to pay a $3 "delivery fee" for paying with a debit card. ( you don't see that charge until the receipt is printed) When I brought it to the guy's attention and his response was that it was a mandatory fee from the owner. This has to be the most ridiculous thing ever. I wish I would've forgone leaving a tip. If I could give this place ZERO stars I would.

The larger piece of goat was dry and tough. My husband had egusi that was oily and tasted off. First time I've thrown away a whole meal right in the trash. Jolloff should be a staple dish but the rice was mushy and not worth salvaging. Disappointing that it cost me $65 for Two yet was not edible truthfully. We wanted to like it. I Had the restaurant marked for weeks and the descriptions were delicious.

Came here for brunch with my mom last weekend for her birthday and we had a solid experience!…read more We both ordered the eggs benedict but my mom went with the potato pancake (basically a hash brown cake) while I went with the grits. The grits in particular were excellent! My mom liked her potatoes but she did say she was a little jealous of the grits and took a few forkfuls from me. The benedict was also very good, served on a biscuit rather than the traditional english muffin, which I liked very much. Mine was a little light on the hollandaise so I would ask for a bit more of that next time. I also had an iced frozen latte which was quite good! Like many folks right now we're avoiding raw mixed greens so we both skipped those with our meals but even without it was still plenty of food. We also ordered beignets, a mix of powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar, with chocolate and foster's sauce (caramel) on the side. To me the beignets read more like a popover than a beignet but they were still good. Loved that they came warm and the foster's sauce was really nice! Our server was awesome and checked in on us regularly. Food came quickly, too. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for a table but it wasn't too bad and they'll take your number so you don't have to stay too close if you'd prefer to wait in your car (not much else to do around there, unless you're feeling like browsing Office Max next door). Overall a very solid dining experience and we both remarked we'd be eager to return again soon!
