Let me start by saying that I love their food and the business as a whole. However, I will NEVER pre-order anything from here again. The last two times that I have pre-ordered and provided a time to pickup, my order had not even been started. I've had to wait 30 minutes each time. So, what is the point of preordering. If I need to preorder an item to pickup, I'll use someone else. read more

Updated review: Apprently people in the store have forgotten the concept called Covid. I saw 3 customers were not wearing masks and I went to the cashier to ask if the store has a mask policy. He was so oblivios and reacted in a cool way 'yeah, there is'. The worst part is that he is not wearing a mask as well. Saw few staff wearing masks/ gators behind the deli counter. Not everyone is wearing masks. No way to go back to my fav store during this pandemic again. The lack of responsibility by staff and patrons alike are alarming. read more

Went in to buy a sandwich and soup. Sandwich was made well, soup was good if a little bland but I understand. What I don't understand is the manager/owner choosing to discipline a worker in front of customers. Regardless of the problem I shouldn't see someone dressed down on the floor. It makes me think poorly of ownership and or management and it makes me not want to spend my money there. Good prices and tasty food can not make up for poor social skills. I don't care what the employee did, I don't want to be in the middle of it, even tangentially. read more

I have been frequenting this establishment for the last 3 years regularly. First off they are quite pricey. For example $3.49/lb wings, $2.69/ leg and thighs. Now I have always shopped at eastern market for my meats but this is very close to my home so I am willing to pay the inflated prices for the convenience. But today I asked for 1 in thick center cut pork chops and I was told that they have some cut thin that are 3/4in and thick that are 1.5in thick. I didn't know that a fresh meat market has an issue with cutting meat especially when you are charging $3.99/lb for freaking pork chops. Needless to say, I Will not be returning. Thanks for meeting my needs until now. Highly disappointed today. read more

Omg what an absolutely HORRIBLE experience!! I just moved to the area and we were going to buy 4 lbs of lamb chops among other things and my dad was waiting outside for me as we were doing landscaping and he had a trailer...he was driving around the building in circles as he waited so he didn't take up too many parking spots and the owner came out screaming and cursing at my father using obscene language to my 74 year old dad with high blood pressure. He was extremely upset and came in to get me and their excuse was they were very busy! I talked to the other owner as we were leaving and all he could offer was an apology and said he hopes we will try again.... it's a strong NOPE for me! Anyone who talks to their patrons like that does NOT deserve MY business!! And if you are a person built on customer service i wouldn't suggest you take your business there either‍ read more

This review is specifically in regards to the sandwich and deli counter in the market. I really enjoyed the variety and size of the fresh sandwiches that are made to order. There are almost 100 different varieties to choose from. There are also lots of yummy samples to try! All sandwiches are $9 and come with soup. They are huge and are plenty big to share ! I had the classic Reuben and loved it. We'll be back for more. There's also an excellent gourmet grocery section with lots of choices. read more

I stopped in here real quick one day since I wanted to get some produce and a gallon of milk and didn't want to stop at Kroger. As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed with how bad the produce was. I just needed one tomato and couldn't find a good one at all in the pile. Every one of them had brown spots or were mushy. No heads of lettuce were worth the $1.19 sticker... all measly looking green and brown balls. Okay, I continued quickly to the milk, and the majority of the milk I wanted (common 2%) was at or very close to the sale date. I was going to settle for Vitamin D milk, but one of the milks must've leaked all over. The jugs were sticky and nasty looking. That was strike three: no good tomatoes, no good lettuce, no good milk. I was out of there. Maybe I went there on a bad day or something. I noticed they had a ton of beer, but for once, I actually went to a store for another purpose. I wasn't able to get the simple things I needed. read more

I absolutely love The Market. The quality of the meat is great and it's always fully stocked. The seasoning that they can put on the steak is delicious and would highly recommend. All of the employees are always very kind and willing to help. Especially the gentlemen behind the meat counter, I always have a few questions every time I go and they're always so nice and helpful. This is the only place in the area that has multiple flavors of the energy drink Bang. My husband is a nurse and works nights so he tends to drink plenty of these. It's always great that I can go in and have more than 1 option. Just overall this place is the best. read more

This is a great family owned business that cares about it's customers. Their hot and cold deli items are homemade and so much better tasting than what the grocery store offers. They have full hot meals, soups, etc. and also the typical deli salads. (But they don't taste typical, they are good). They carry high quality brand name lunch meats and cheeses, and have also have a great butcher shop. You can get a steak cut freshly to any thickness you'd like. It makes the steaks at the grocery stores look rather sad. You can find just about any "ingredient" you would need from a new recipe you're trying out. If you like wine, they have a great selection. I am going to give them 5 stars as I LOVE this place. It is a small Deli/Grocery store. The prices on their produce is actually a little less then the grocery store. If you only have 10 to 15 minutes to shop, get in get out this is the place for you. I was thinking about giving them only 4 stars as I bought the homemade sausage and I make a polish borsch for Christmas and it was actually too lean, it needs more fat for the borsch. Gourmet markets are scarce downriver so when I hear of one I make it a point to visit. It is a small grocery store that also sells prepared food. Although the portion sizes looked generous the food itself looked plain and ordinary and did not tempt me to take home that lasagna. On top of the meat counter were several sample trays of their housemade sausage. I jumped at the jalapeño cheddar and Cajun varieties. They were incredibly bland. Too bad. The rest of the store was mostly normal grocery stuff with a few higher end items and a few organics blended in. I thought the prices were a bit high but not extreme. I was impressed to see a few items I had never seen anywhere including some little fruit filled cakes imported from France. I give them points for having a good selection but they need to work on the presentation of the prepared food and get some bite in those sausages. They seem to have more product than space but it did not feel cramped. Ok and a nice option downriver. read more

WOW number 44, definitely not true! In my book number 1. I havent been to every shop on list, but ive been to a couple on top 10 and "The Market" by far the best. I sat here for a moment thinking what to tell you is a must try and i cant narrow it down. Fresh meats A+, deli A+, hot food A+, and the service is above and beyond. They have a lot of interesting foods such as cherry bread and raisin bread. They have there own deli sections and they also have quite a few choices when it comes to foods. Employees are friendly, feels like a family atmosphere whenever I go in. It's a great place to check out of your interested in getting some groceries, they might be we'll know like Walmart or krogers but it's definitely worth whole to take a look. read more
