I explained I have another dentist in KC and asked them to confirm what services would be covered by insurance - that was three or four weeks before my appointment. When I got there they hadn't even recorded that I had insurance. I said (again) that I only wanted the services that would be covered by my insurance. She hadn't looked it up so she blew me off. When I went in they took bitewings and then wanted to take a pano. I mentioned AGAIN that I needed them to confirm that was covered. She said OK and did it anyway. I guess I should have refused, but I thought I might be wrong on my coverage. Dentist saw me and asked for a single tooth xray - I've never had that before and asked AGAIN it that was covered, no real response and they took it anyway. They showed me something I have known about for a long time. They then gave me an estimate for what they think I should do and it was a bit crazy since I mentioned I wasn't planning to do it. At the very beginning I had offered to pull records from my regular KC dentist and they said 'that isn't needed'. Guess what? None of that extra was covered. I was told to call when the bill came and they 'might' write it off. Just got off the phone and they did NOT write it off. Basically stating that I should have known my insurance rules and it's not their job to know that for me. Really??? So, I'm paying a bill for something I begged them to check or not do. Won't go back.

Absolutely horrible care!!!!…read more May of last year I went in with a black and blue foot. She told me my ankle was sprained and that I would be fine in two weeks, NEVER ONCE saying anything about following up with another doctor. A few weeks later I had no choice but to see another doctor because I still could put zero weight on my foot. He was absolutely shocked that they missed 2 breaks and a torn ligament the way they had. I had to have two plates and screws put in my ankle it was so bad. He said there was absolutely no way an x-ray could have missed the amount of damage that was done, not even when it was a new break. Small fractures can be hard to detect when it's a new break, but this was no small fracture lol. Extensive damage had been done. My amazing insurance (whom I will also be filing a complaint against this establishment with) has already paid them hundreds of dollars for this amazingly bad care, so when we got yet another bill for 17+ dollars I didn't feel it fair that I should have to pay it. We then filed a complaint with grevence and asked them to waive this very small fee but they found in their favor saying I was told to follow up with another doctor......THIS IS A FLAT OUT LIE!!! I was never told anything close to that!!! I was specifically told it was NOT broken, that it was just a sprain and to stay off of it for two weeks. Not one word about following up with someone else. No discharge/after care papers or anything. They still want me to pay them another measly 17.50 even though they did absolutely nothing to help me, and have already received MORE then their fair share. I didn't even get a tylenol for the pain. I left that place in tiers and I'm still completely shocked at how badly they handled my entire situation. I trusted them and shouldn't have. PLEASEE!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE!!! Dr. Edward actually listened to me and took care my medical concerns with compassion, something that is lacking in this industry as of late. She was forward thinking and made sure that my problem would be fully handled until its conclusion. She didn't just give me "BandAid Care" and get me out of there like most doctor's offices do these days. I was not expecting the level of care I received, especially since express or urgent care facilities are known for volume and not necessarily quality. I was having a terrible experience that day with my normal provider's office and by the time I left this Express Care office I was smiling. They were just absolutely terrific! I will 100% go back in the future when I have trouble getting into see my GP. If Dr. Edward's and staff were a GP I would switch over to them in a heartbeat! Thank you for your care!
