I didn't know the consequences-he didn't disclose that to me. Now I have one side of my mouth drooping down because denture is crooked. It's too short on the left side and the denture is absolutely destroying my mouth! It hurts so bad I'm going to have to go somewhere and have another one done and I don't have the funds to do it because my insurance only pays once every 5 years. He destroyed my other denture my old one that I walked in with when he shaved my natural teeth. So now I can't wear it! please save yourself some heartache and grief and don't ever walk through their doors! It's a family business too so it doesn't do any good to try to fight for your rights. Because basically they don't care. They have the upper hand!!. I bite my tongue when I'm chewing because the occlusion is off!! I wish to God I'd never put my faith & confidence in this guy!!!

I explained I have another dentist in KC and asked them to confirm what services would be covered by insurance - that was three or four weeks before my appointment. When I got there they hadn't even recorded that I had insurance. I said (again) that I only wanted the services that would be covered by my insurance. She hadn't looked it up so she blew me off. When I went in they took bitewings and then wanted to take a pano. I mentioned AGAIN that I needed them to confirm that was covered. She said OK and did it anyway. I guess I should have refused, but I thought I might be wrong on my coverage. Dentist saw me and asked for a single tooth xray - I've never had that before and asked AGAIN it that was covered, no real response and they took it anyway. They showed me something I have known about for a long time. They then gave me an estimate for what they think I should do and it was a bit crazy since I mentioned I wasn't planning to do it. At the very beginning I had offered to pull records from my regular KC dentist and they said 'that isn't needed'. Guess what? None of that extra was covered. I was told to call when the bill came and they 'might' write it off. Just got off the phone and they did NOT write it off. Basically stating that I should have known my insurance rules and it's not their job to know that for me. Really??? So, I'm paying a bill for something I begged them to check or not do. Won't go back.

I spent a few minutes looking over the cost of the procedure before agreeing to it, and I didn't know until I turned around that I had a whole huddle of techs staring at me waiting. This wouldn't have been an issue if they would've been friendly about it and gave me reassurance. It seemed like they wanted me to just sign the papers and get it over with. People need to understand root canals are expensive procedures and not everyone has the funds to dish out. Looking at your paperwork and going over the costs is okay and completely reasonable. It shouldn't be treated as a waste of time or an inconvenience.

He's got 7 kids--def puts off dad vibes. I have terrible grinding problems due to an abnormal bite that wasn't discovered til I was too old to fix it. I've had 8 root canals, 1 retreat and 1 apicoectomy (that's the root canal surgery) all done by Dr May. I've not really had any pain during procedures. He does the anesthetic in the bone for lower teeth, really does make it painless. I typically don't have pain after the procedure either. I recommend a smooth milkshake after--no chewing. I'm an endo vet. I know what I'm talking about.

My mom had tooth pulled and she has been in a lot of pain. Then they got her in Monday morning and Dr Johnson was arrogant and said anytime u get tooth pulled and you have a hole, it hurts. Well DUH, but this was a worse pain than normal. He said it was hard to tell if dry socket. But he made her feel dumb. She hadnt been to dentist in a long time and now is even debating going to another bc of this. I was in pain and called the office right at 7:30am this morning and they were able to fit me in for an emergency root canal!!! This is my second root canal from Dr. Massey and that is his speciality. I wish that he did everything, but unfortunately he doesn't. The staff are Extremely professional, Organized and Amazing with communicating together. If you are needing a root canal... Look No Further because Dr. Massey is the Man!!! Update: 8/22/19 Dr. Massey's office called me this morning just to check and see how I was doing advising if I still needed anything to let them know. I was told the "I would never understand it" and that Dr. Massey "builds in" extra cost when billing the insurance so that he doesn't have to "chase" people for payment later. When I requested a predetermination of benefits, I was told that Dr. Massey will not provide that because he doesn't want to disclose the numbers he is actually billing the insurance company. SHADY.
