The good: I got some gorilla ties here for $4, cutting boards (3 pack of bamboo boards) for $9, and girl's socks for $6. The gorilla ties are cheaper than they are on Amazon. They had a lot of religious cross decorations and bedazzled things like sippers, wall art, and sculptures. Their kids section had fun toys and tons of slime options. The bad: Some of the aisles were narrow and just barely enough for the cart to fit. There were some cutting boards that were cracked. I feel like the clothes are out of style/cheaper quality. A lot of the shoes were stiff. The interesting: They had a lot of Mexican snacks in the check-out aisle area. Their kids clothes seem slightly smaller than average sizing. read more

This review is for the amount of stock this location has. They are usually filled with a lot of items and rotate them pretty regularly. Other than that, there are some issues they need to address: I go here pretty frequently. My only issue is that the loss prevention guard one time followed me around the store. I was in a corner area where no one would usually go and I was there checking out kids' socks and he somehow managed to sneak in between me and the wall to try to pass through me. He said excuse me, but I found it odd that the store singled me out and was targeting me of all people in the store. He was clearly instructed to find out and go look at what I was doing. Another incident was when I had to make a complaint about a rude incompetent cashier here. She gave me an attitude as if I was stupid. There was a discrepancy with the price tag and she was being smart and snarky with me and tapping on her computer screen showing me something to look like I was dumb. I sent a message to corporate and it looks like this cashier is no longer working here. read more

I happened to be in the area and had a few things I had purchased for my mom that I had to return and exchange. It must've been the rainy weather that there were hardly any customers (perhaps 3 incl myself). I was greeted promtply upon entering and asked about their exchange policy and was told to do my shopping and will process the transaction upon check out. Much better selection than what I encountered at the Long Beach store and also very clean and uncluttered. I promptly found what I was shopping for and was the only customer in line. Returns transaction was super easy and the employee was very efficient and friendly. Location is not in the best of areas (which DD's is lol) but I would definitely go out of my way to shop at this location again. read more

Almost like Ross, but lower prices! I had never heard of this store until Jean L. mentioned it! How could any store beat Ross prices? I had to check it out! Alana was kind enough to take me on another shopping adventure! We sifted through many items... clothes, shoes, gifts, etc. A few good bargains were secured after looking at some odd fashions and outdated styles. People have said that this store carries the rejected merchandise of Ross... maybe. However, I found some great deals and I'm sure I'll continue to find more! The energy in this store is dark and negative unfortunately. Lots of watching customers, but lacking any kind of customer service to speak of. Very uncomfortable especially to those of us able to afford anything in there, and who are law abiding citizens of Carson, intelligent, educated, a homeowner, hardworking, with grandchildren, etc. All we really want is the comfort to shop in our own community, the kindness of the employees, who without us would not have a job, and a good selection of merchandise to choose from. Not a lot to ask for right?? The security guard welcomes you when you walk-in (which is nice), but that's about it. I guess there's been so many fowl customers, and shoplifting, it's hard for the employees to get past that, not to mention these young ***holes walking into stores stealing from these retailers like crazy. As a first time visitor to DDs I thought I had hit the jackpot. Some of the same items from Target, Ross, & Marshalls at an even lower cost. However, the customer service team was rude, they don't price match (which wasn't the biggest issue), but the lady told me to grab my own receipt and have a nice day. Huh? I said really?! Grab it myself? She said yes. The lady behind me said oh! That's new. As I walked to my car I noticed she actually handed the lady behind me her receipt. I really wanted to return my items but I didn't want to be petty. But, I wasn't rude or anything. why such fowl treatment? I like cheap.stuff here but the staff wasn't well trained with returns or exchanges. I went to return a smaller size dress she gave me credit for less than I paid for and she didnt say anything until it was done and paid for the rest of my purchases. When I checked I told her I didnt get paid for what I paid for she said she didnt notice the price. My plan was too get a store credit for the returns and use that for my next purchases on same day. So I paid money for the returned dress. The manager couldnt do anything about it even to fix their faults. If I were to get a lawyer what would their explanation be? DD's Discount has great deals all year long (which is why they don't partake in Black Friday). I like their selection of purses, wall art, household items and adult clothes. I've never had much luck with their shoes...not the best selection. Toys and kid clothes are limited as well. Definitely some inexpensive great finds! I would say many of the employees need some customer service training however, I don't believe that would change their attitudes. People who hate their job and/or are unhappy with their life will most likely not be pleasant or friendly. Security are the only staff that has ever greeted me. And YES, they do tell you to grab your own receipt once it prints out. (That does not bother me...I'm not above grabbing my receipt). So, if you can get around the fact that your interactions with staff probably won't be spectacular then enjoy the store for it's greatly discounted merchandise and be on your merry way. read more

So let me start off by saying yes the store is a little ghetto. I mean there is a big sign outside that says, we accept EBT. It's the not the store itself but the people that come in they like to give the employees a hard time sometimes. The prices though are AMAZING! If you ever need to purchase something that you would usually go to Target for (I.e. home decor, bedroom sheets, socks, kids clothes, toys...etc) you will definitely be able to find it here for a killer price. Don't go to this store if you can't handle ghetto peps, long lines, and no bathroom. Do go to this place if you like to search around the store to find treasures that are cheap in price but not in worth. I have picked up some cool shoes here for 8 bucks and they are Rocket Dog. Found great purses here too, I always get compliments on that purse. This store is fairly new so I try to go to this one rather than the others. Stay away on the weekends because this store is known to have only two cashier so you will wait in line longer on a weekend. Came here just to see what DD's is about and i gotta say it was pretty much what i'd thought it would be. This place is the lowest of the low, LOL the EVEN cheaper version of their sister business Ross. Most of the clothes, shoes and bags that I saw were no name and cheap quality, selection was pretty big though and it wasnt as crowded as some other discount stores i've been to. The thing that bugged me the most? They actually had some nice bra's, i picked a couple up and walked to the dressing room, only to be told that they dont allow customers to try on bras... ARE YOU SERIOUS?!. girls, i'm sure you know what a pain that is, if you cant even try it on to see if it fits. I gave it two stars because i did find some decent Hanes socks, 6 pack for only $3 which is a bargain. i dont think i'll be coming back here anytime soon, i'd rather drive to Ross, at least they have better brands. read more

I stop in here on my lunch break now and then. Having 3 young kids that grow like weeds, I'm always on the lookout for good (read brand name) clothes for a bargain. This DD's delivers! OMG with prices this cheap why do laundry? Buy a shirt for $3 and toss it after the first use! No for real, went in today looking for some back to school clothes and was not disappointed! Boys shirts $2.50-$6 for Nike, New Balance, Sean John etc. designer kids jeans for $6-12. Girls tops for $4-9. Saw a Guess purse for $19. Never experienced a rude person, or long wait but I usually go on weekdays at lunch. Have used the restroom several times, no problem. Usually well organized and better stocked than Anaheim store. We visited Dad's on 9-17-21. It was about 9:00 p.m. The store overall was good. Definitely in need of customer training. I purchased three breakable items. The cashier placed all my items in a bag. Did not wrap them, to keep them from breaking. I had to interrupt her conversation to ask her to please wrap them separately. She was speaking with another employee, a security guard & another guy. Myself & the other customers really didn't need to know about her passing out in San Diego after a night of drinking. They stood there talking like they were not at work! Spent over half an hour trying to find the matching pair to the ONLY cute pair of shoes available. And of course, it wasn't there to be found. Very organized and clean which is unusual for a DD's!!! You do have to have patience to deal with their regular clientele of screaming children and no one saying excuse me to get pass you on an aisle. I was annoyed with one lady and her three children in a shopping cart who kept taking turns screaming MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY at the top of their lungs, and no matter how many times the mother came over and cursed them in espanol and popped them in the head for yelling, they continued as soon as she walked off. But at the end of the day, I got my deals on things I needed and did not want to over pay for them at Target or Walmart. read more

Horrible customer service by the "Manager on Duty" Henry. When asked about a policy, he answered with something totally different. While still talking to him, he must have realized that he was confused about the questions and was wrong. They would not let my 5 year old use the restroom. So you don't need my money. That really doesn't make any sense.

My wife took my disabled mother to get some gifts for her sister. My mother got a few items and got in line she is very disabled and uses a walker and has a seizure disorder. The other customers let her go to the front of the line. There is usually a line to help expedite the disabled. Today there was a manager that sent my mother to the back of the regular line even the cashier told the manager to let her stay in the front. He refused to let my be attended to. Again the other customers let my mother get in front of the line again and the same manager sent her back again. I do not know what the motivation was on his part if it was biased against the disabled. Other people in the store saw this and defended my mother. He was lucky I was not there but I will contact someone to defend her rights. read more

As much as this store drives me crazy, I can't seem to stay out of it. There are so many good deals. I often come here to pick up items for my kitchen and bathroom. When I feel like searching through the shelves, I have found cute bathroom rugs, decent towels, and summer picnic items as well. I haven't taken time to sift through the clothing racks, but have bought pajamas and panties from here. The line is often super long and cashiers are slow and somewhat unfriendly as well. Security is very pleasant and they always speak as you come and go. If parking was much better and people would stop allowing their kids to run around while they shop, this store would probably get at least 4 stars! Hmph... read more
