My last eye exam/glasses purchase in Granbury was a disaster, very frustrating, and a motivation to find somewhere else. I looked at Benbrook/Fort Worth reviews and found De Grasse & Ratliff Eye Center - what a blessing! Everyone I encountered at De Grasse & Ratliff Eye Center was pleasant, assistive, and professional. My optometrist was Dr. Chad Carter. He took his time with me and was careful and thorough during the examination. He recommended and used lenses to demonstrate how the changes would impact my vision quality. While waiting to see Dr. Carter, I decided to review their extensive selection of frames. Mandy Roger-Gay, a Lead Optician, introduced herself and assisted me in finding frame options. My choices were made with her assistance before the exam (I knew I would need new frames as mine had broken). I have worn prescription eyewear for almost 60 years, since second grade. I have never had a more thorough and informative eye exam than the one conducted by Dr. Carter. I have never enjoyed more assistance and courteous service than Mandy's. Mandy took her time to measure for bi-focal lines carefully and made beneficial suggestions to ensure my new eyewear would provide me with the support I need to live and work with good eyesight. I am delighted I chose to drive the thirty miles to experience this level of friendly and professional service. I finally caved and gave in to the fact that I need glasses. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. De Grasse and kept my fingers crossed. I've never been a huge fan or doctors so the idea of now going to see one that would poke at my eyeballs totally freaked me out. I got to my appointment about ten minutes early. The receptionist was incredibly friendly. She had me fill out a few papers and a nurse took me to the back to do a few eye tests. They ran me through about three tests. I had mentioned on my paperwork that I have an auto immune disease. I didn't think they'd actually do anything with that information. When I met with Dr. De Grasse she took me to another room and said she wanted to run a specific test on me because of my auto immune. I hadn't been told by my doctor nor done enough research to know that my auto immune could affect my eyes! Surprisingly Dr. De Grasse knew this and wanted to check to be safe. My entire experience here was easy and painless. The favility is beautiful! The people that work here are so friendly and Dr. De Grasse is amazing. This was my first visit here as I needed a new Dr. closer to home. The staff is friendly and I liked the Dr. However, my initial visit I had to wait 40 minutes before being called back from the time of my appointment. The appointment took too long for me to look at classes that day so I returned few days later. This experience was quick and staff very friendly. I was told my 2 pair of glasses would be ready within 2 weeks (which was perfect as I had a long distance trip planned and had lost my prescription sunglasses- so really needed the new ones). I called after 2 weeks because I hadn't heard anything and was told lab messed up sunglasses and had to start over -ugh! Expected time now would be early following week. I returned from vacation after this date and called to find out the lab still didn't have them done and should be done that day and expected delivery to their office next day or Monday. I sincerely hope they are ready Monday and they are correct: not much faith in their lab. Not sure I will return or I at least won't get glasses there. read more

Dr. De Grasse has been seeing our family for more than 10 years. She is energetic and thorough. She is happy to make suggestions but doesn't mind if you want to go a different direction. She shares the really cool and interesting science behind your eyes. She is wonderful with adults and kids alike. Her staff is courteous and helpful in assisting you with different options for rebates and insurance to help you save money. The wait times can sometimes be a little high (30-45 minutes) but only because of ocular emergencies and her commitment to treating everyone fully and with a personal touch. I highly recommend her. I've only seen Dr. Ratliff once but she seemed friendly and competent as well. read more

Dr Ratliff is a wonderful doctor! I have been going here for 4 years and always have a great experience with her and her staff. She is professional and answers all my questions. She is very personable and makes you feel comfortable throughout the exam. I highly recommend her. On another note, I recommend going to another place for frames. The optical sales staff has been problematic for me. Getting replacement lenses are no problem but picking new frames here just doesn't work. There is little selection and one salesperson was bored, unfriendly and did not have much knowledge of frames or lenses. I go to Eyes Nouveau on Hulen. I received the BEST care here! I received LASIK a year ago and needed to get an exam done for possible retreatment. Dr. De Grasse was so personable and just an absolute joy to be around! She's a rare gem and you can truly feel how much she cares for her patients. She did the most thorough exam I've ever had and made sure she got my prescription perfect. She then educated me on why I'm having issues after LASIK. The office staff were extremely helpful and also very nice. You will not want to go anywhere else after going here! read more

Dr. De Grasse and her staff were amazing! My husband and I were both scheduled for appointments and the staff took us back promptly at our scheduled time. The technician performed pre-exam testing with very new, high tech equipment and explained in detail what type of test she was performing. Dr. De Grasse then did a very thorough exam and explained her findings in a way that was very easy to understand. We were both given prescriptions for glasses and picked out frames from their optical shop (this was a challenge because they had such a wonderful selection)! The entire experience was simply wonderful. They were all kind, knowledgeable, and very well organized. The office is beautiful as well. The optometrists are fantastic; I've been with them for several years and find them professional, helpful, always willing to explain things and answer questions. The receptionists in the new center, oddly, look and act like they'd rather be anywhere else in the world. The frames part is not so great - when I went to pick up new glasses, they were just going to hand them to me and expect me to leave, without checking the fit or making any adjustments - they seemed surprised that I might want to have the frames adjusted a bit. So my family will keep doing our eye exams here for sure, but we'll probably take our prescriptions and get frames elsewhere. read more

I went here a few days ago because I bought a groupon and i was very pleased... i needed new glasses because one of my eyes was really red from allergies well the doctor gave me some stronger eye drops and gave me a big discount on the office visit and i go back next week to get glasses I'm very impressed with her honesty and professionalism. read more

Typically I do not think about who I see when I am trying to replace a pair of glasses but Dr. Ratliff has changed my mind. From the time I walked in the office door I could tell my visit would be different from any that I have had with past optometrists. The waiting area was very comfortable and the fact that I was able to fill out all my paperwork ahead of time afforded me the opportunity to look at frames while I was waiting to be seen. Wait time was very short I think I had about 5 - 10 minutes before I was taken back to see the Dr. Dr. Ratliff was very personable and took the time to answer all my questions. Her honesty of what I needed was refreshing. She did not suggest unneeded options and procedures. I actually learned more about my eyesight than I have with past optometrists. I read the reviews online, then made my appointment. I arrived a little early, and we got started before my actual appointment time. I was greeted when I walked in the door, and my new patient paperwork was handled immediately. I sat down for just a moment, and was then called back. I saw Dr. De Grasse. She was excellent! I felt like I had known her my whole life. She made me very comfortable. I was examined, and I asked some questions I had. I never felt rushed throughout the entire appointment. The office, including examining room was very clean, and organized. After my exam, I picked out glasses. The person helping me (sorry I don't remember her name) was very patient with me. She was knowledgeable about the glasses, and the insurance. The price of my new glasses was lower than I expected! Yippee! When I was done, I was thanked as I walked out the door. I hit the jackpot here, and can't wait to get my husband in for his examination! read more
