Upon walking in the place, you are greeted with a coffee roasting machine that is humming away doing its magic on some Sumatran beans (they roast their beans in-house daily). The staff are always super friendly and the place is my number one pick (pun intended) for a coffee while shopping at Westfield or when a caffeine hit is needed before boarding a bus to Bronte. The place itself is nicely decorated with comfy lounge style chairs if you feel like having a pastry or sandwich with your beverage (yep they'll satisfy mild hunger pangs too). To add to the atmosphere, the walls are adorned with coffee information and shots of the owner in action preparing syphon coffee and other various coffee related acts. Thankfully it was part of quite abundant yet lacklustre affogato, which for $5 in Bondi Junction was quite reasonable. The atmosphere is awesome despite being small and tucked up in a sidestreet that you wouldn't choose to walk down on unless you knew this place was there. The staff is friendly and the service fast. The takeaway here: Sydney doesn't cater to Italians and other espresso drinkers. This place is no exception but it's quite a nice and cheap alternative to the thousands of coffee shops that already exist.

I asked if there were any recommendations and I was told I couldn't go wrong with the lamb wrap. I would say - not bad - but I'm not going ring my friends about it. I would assume it's just put together with all pre-made ingredients. They do mostly sandwiches as they don't seem to have much in the way of kitchen facilities. It is nice being away from the food court though so that's a plus. All in all, I would say if you're just looking for a quick sandwich and don't want to battle the food court, go for it. Located just outside the entrance to Myer on Level 1 (i think) in the newly renovated Macquarie Centre. Waitress was friendly and i only had to wait a couple of minutes for my cake and coffee. Both were tasty and they definitely hit that afternoon sugar craving spot! They have tall tables as well as a large communal table to sit on.

They also sell alcohol, probably as a result of their location right beneath the cinemas one floor up. As expected, my coffee was just as good as what they serve elsewhere, which I had with a custard tart for afternoon tea - the sweet filling was speckled with nutmeg and served in a shallow, crumbly pastry base. It's really small inside and the tables and chairs are pretty close together so you feel a bit squashed and conspicuous. It seems to me that it is more of a meeting place for a coffee and perhaps a treat (of which there are some delicious looking ones) And I don't suppose it claims to be anything else either. Its right there on Fiveways, that great junction in Paddington. So a better location you could not ask for and many of the pre-prepared lunch meals were sold out by the time I got there later on in the afternoon, so clearly it is fairly popular. For all I know it could be legendary with the locals! it was my first visit though and first impressions were 'nice, but nothing too special.'

Gusto also sells a variety of fresh paninis, wraps, and salads that will tickle anyone's taste buds. I would suggest that you try your hardest to get a seat outside to marvel at the harbor views. Also, you're a people-watcher like me, this is the place to do it. People flock to Gusto on a regular basis, so you might find yourself waiting to get a seat. Even so, you can still experience their tasty sandwiches on the go. The servers aren't very approachable or welcoming, but they do their job well.

This unfortunately places their coffee under further consideration with the proximity of highly respected competitors. Unfortunately, the coffee at Bar Latte is still sub-par. Their location is still the best, as it's a quiet sit-down cafe, located at the entrance to the Edgecliff Station, where lot's of people queue for tickets, wait for buses & abuse their lives due to often calculations. Their food especially breakfast and take away sandwiches are good quality, unfortunately they're not competitively priced, and could find that their local customers are not as loyal as they once thought, once the competition is tasted. There is outdoor seating, although I find the cafe tables with high stools often uncomfortable for an extended seating, and it's often very loud with the bus-stop directly opposite. My friends ordered the salmon benedict breakfast and the gluten free fields mushroom bruschetta - which was mushroom and cheese. I ordered the field mushroom eggs benedict. We all decided on the half portion sizes. The food came out within ten minutes and we were all pretty hungry by then. I cut into my mushroom and noticed that where there was supposed to be egg was cheese. I realized that they gave me the mushroom bruschetta instead so I told the waitress. She apologized and took it back. My friends had already started eating so I just had to wait another 6-7 minutes before getting the right order. When it came out my friends were also done but the egg was nicely poached and the hollandaise was creamy and delicious. The field mushrooms were nice and flavorful and the multigrain bread was also very tasty. Overall a very good, healthy and filling meal. Can't imagine how full we'd be if we had gotten the full portions! Definitely will come back. Good service, good food.
