The best burger I ate in last 5 days. Cooked perfectly. Juicy, soft, just perfect. I hope I will come back to this place again. Location is great too. Service was great!

Brownie and vanilla ice cream

Came here on a Sunday night with a reservation. This place does get busy, but there are bar seats. They can accommodate groups of all sizes. Service was friendly and timely. There is plenty of outdoor seating, especially when the weather is warmer. 1. Burrata - very good with fresh flavors and balsamic which was not too acidic 2. Pork ribs - forgot to take a picture of this one button like the other ones on the page. They use a sweet garlic sauce, which was a good flavor. The meat was tender as well. 3. Brownie - much more rich than I expected, which is very good to split. Pairs perfectly well with the vanilla ice cream and whip cream. 4. Xxx porn star cocktail - this is more like a dessert drink with good passionfruit and caramel foam with some alcohol. Delicious. Overall, I would visit at least once for a very good meal.

Food was amazing and awesome service. The ribs were delicious and fall off the bone. I would come back here next time in Amsterdam.

MUST GO! On top of my list! This restaurant is located in Rembrandt Square in a area with so many other bars and restaurant but this place grabbed my attention and we stepped in with no prior research. OMG BEST food, service and vibe we got in this trip. we got a complementary bread and butter and even thinking about it makes my mouth watery. I don't know what is about their flour in Europe that makes bread taste so good. the butter had some herbs on it . we ordered following : Starter : Steak Tartar( raw ground beef so spices) - Frog Legs (tasted like very soft chicken) Main Dish: Steak & Ribs Combi ( half rib combined with steak, choice of tournedos, Rib eye and Entrecote) & mix salad on the side The meat quality and cook was perfect. the freshness of salad was indescribable. I would totally suggest this restaurant.

Chicken with a baked potato. Sorry not before.

We enjoyed our meal at De Nachtwatch. 6 for dinner and we had a mixed order of ribs, chicken, tuna, and plenty sides to share. The food was great, although the chicken was a little dry. They serve very large portions. We could have shared the main courses as well. A great experience. Nice servers with a lot of good energy. Priced were reasonable for our budgets.

Quick version. Great location on Rembrandt square. Friendly service. Ribs are really good. This might be one of my favorite restaurants in Amsterdam. I try to come here everytime I'm in town. Steakhouses are everywhere but this restaurant has really good steak and probably the best ribs in the city. And yes you should get the ribs even though it's a steakhouse. Service is typical Dutch, friendly. They have an outdoor dining area. Most people in the outdoor dining area will be smoking, so to avoid that ask for a table inside. It's always a good idea to call ahead for a reservation. This restaurant has been here since the 70s . And yes its very likely they will be busy especially on weekends. The menu is in english and dutch. Recommended.

I'm torn. Like a Tale of Two cities. It was the best of Meals and the worst in Ambiance. Cold water for Washing one's hands and a general lack of Panache are just 2 of a myriad of Matters. But before we 'Go There' let's praise the Rib Gods for Possibly the Quickest Served Most Tender Tasty Rack of Bones I have had in Europe!!! Truly Spectacular is the Time and Taste put into These Racks. So Tender Slow Smoked and Succulent, if I were 'Home' I'd be aggro with grease and juice covering My face. With that said there Would be nobody asking me If they could assist. The staff Served and Sailed Away like Christopher Cross.....Damn, Now I can't get that song out Of My Mind.....Sailing takes me Away to where...... Anyhow this is either a one hit Wonder....Or a Must have whilst in the Dam. Most likely the Former. Ambiance 'You Own Everything' ) Part deux I'm writing this in Real Time. Well I gave the one hit wonder Another chance and what do You think happened? No Spare Ribs available at 8.26 pm On a Sunday? And the final blow is the place is closing for 'Renovation' oddly enough as If they Read my Mind. Some Acts can Live a Lifetime Off that one hit. And this place May just be the One. But the ATTITUDE is they Are 'Doing me a Favor' by even Entertaining my Presence no less Being a Valued Patron. And the lamb chops 'Could've Been a Contender' shouts to Bobby DeNiro, )

Every street in Amsterdam seems to have a few things in common; coffee shops, cheese stores and steakhouses. We happen by this place one evening and walked in. Very welcoming and friendly staff with patio dining. It was a bit chilly so we opted for the covered patio. We ordered the French Onion Soup to start with then ordered Entrecote (Sirloin Steak) and Spareribs. The Spareribs and French Onion soup were fantastic. I would definitely get these again. The Sirloin was okay. The bartender made a killer Manhattan!

Diane and I recently enjoyed a leisurely dinner here, across from Rembrandt Square in the heart of Amsterdam. We were thankful that we had secured advance reservations through an online request, for by the middle of our meal the restaurant was fully packed with people, and every seat was occupied. Obviously dinner reservations are essential here. After briefly warding off aggressive pigeons near our al fresco table, I began with a hearty appetizer of Snails in Garlic Butter that was perfectly prepared. Complimentary addictive Bread with Garlic Butter soon followed, with Lobster Soup without Cognac for Diane (a modified version of Lobster Bisque), and nearly classic French Onion Soup with melted Gouda Cheese for me. Next up for me was a Mixed Salad with egg, cucumbers, mixed greens, large pieces of tomato, radicchio, toasted pine nuts with Vinaigrette Dressing, and really peppery Pepperoncini. After these starters, I was more than ready for my chosen entree of medium-rare Angus Ribeye, and buttery melt-in-the-mouth Baked Potato, while Diane got ready to savor her ordered medium-rare Lady Fillet Steak with French Fries. Of these several offerings, only the French Fries needed some improvement. The Ribeye was enhanced both visually and gastronomically by a few small cooked and unopened tomatoes resting on top. Service was friendly and attentive. In fact, the manager volunteered to call a taxi for us after the immediate vicinity around Rembrandtplein was closed to cab and Uber traffic around 8:00 p.m., and walked with us to an outlying road to greet our driver for hire. And it felt really cool fine dining in an unfamiliar European country while sitting outside at a patio table that overlooked the fabled square bristling with large bronze likenesses of the famous Dutch artist Rembrandt Van Rijn, soldiers, and night watchmen, like chess pieces arrayed on a checkered board. XXXX-1/2 stars overall!

Food was delicious and service was great with the perfect atmosphere. They also provided us with blankets because it was a little chilly outside

Very good steak. De Nachtwacht was located next to a lot of bars and restaurants so the atmosphere was very lively. It was a great place to eat dinner in Amsterdam. I will be coming back when I go to Amsterdam again!

The food was excellent - open market type atmosphere. Service was a little on the slow side - but I think that's normal.

Great ambiance, incredible views, and a solid overall experience. Service in Europe is . . . different. Not bad, just not what I'm used to, so I try not to let that impact things too much. One thing I do want to call out: my daughter's friend has a severe allergy to seafood, nuts, and kiwi, and the staff was incredibly attentive and accommodating. That wasn't our experience everywhere in Europe, so it definitely stood out and was appreciated. We went simple with two steaks: the "Mrs. Porter" and a bone-in ribeye. Mrs. Porter needed a little more seasoning, but the ribeye was . Sides? Honestly don't even remember them . . . which probably says enough. The highlight might've been the "Mr. Fox" dessert. They bring out this chocolate fox head, pour liquid nitrogen into it, and crack it open tableside. Super cool presentation. Dessert itself was good, not amazing . . . but I'd order it again just for the show. End of the day: great ambiance, great views, good food, and a fun experience. I'll definitely be back.

The drink prices on the other hand are outrageous. 36 euro for the smallest martini I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, it tasted great, but still. Paid about 82 euro for two martinis and a non alcoholic drink. Probably gonna steer clear for the rest of our trip. There are much better and more affordable options outside the hotel.

It's a nice little place, you can sit in the front of the restaurant where the chefs are cooking or the back dining room, away from the outer doors. We opted for the front, it was neat to watch them cut and cook our meat. We went with the Wagyu carpaccio, scallops, and tuna tartare as the appetizers. These were all absolutely incredible. So fresh tasting, made to perfection. The right amount of flavor. Next we ordered the tomahawk. We didn't realize until after we were eating that it was bison. It was so fantastic, I'm actually glad we didn't know because neither myself or husband had ever tried it before so it gave us the chance to try something new that we may not have ordered. It was cooked perfectly for us. The right amount of pink. It was so tender to chew and in my opinion the right about of fat on the cut. The lobster was great, it had the right amount of butter than a slight hint of lemon, not overpowering. The breads were good but the butters stood out, absolutely heavenly. So creamy and flavorful. I am going to dream about this when we leave. The broccoli/cauliflower and mushrooms were just ok to us, nothing gave us a wow on them. Overall the meal was fantastic. My husband said it was the best meal in his life. Our server was very kind and attentive. The chef and owner were also exceptional. Everyone made us feel very welcomed and taken care of. We never felt like we were being overlooked or ignored. We would recommend this place if you're looking for a great meal and service and not a bad price tag. For the quality of food, the price is on par with that and worth it all.
