My boyfriend bought a car from here 5 months ago, a cadillac to be exact, the car sales man was so super nice and helpful with the lies he told us about the car such as we were leaving there with the cadillac that had just had new tires put on the car, took the car for a oil change and tire rotation just to find out NO new tires were put on the car, when we called to ask about this we were told "this is not there problem and we should not be calling about things like that, i hope our sales man Johathan Perry enjoyed his pay day BECAUSE WE PAID FULL IN CASH FOR THE CAR, while getting over on people who are already struggling with the world we live in. 5 weeks ago my check engine light went on. We were passing the dealer in Smithfield so we stopped in. The service lady hooked the computer up to my car and told me what the problem was. She told me the part was on back order and she would call me when it comes in. I waited 5 weeks, then I called. No part was ordered, nothing in the computer that we were even there. Spoke with a gentleman on Friday, he was going to check on things and call me back. It is Tuesday night. No response, I made an appointment at a different dealer. This is the worst dealership I have ever been too. There is no such thing as a quick oil change. My daughter went in told them too so an oil change and tire rotation. I taught her to take a valve stem cap off to make sure they are doing what is asked. She caught them in a lie and they said she did not request that but tried to charge her for it. I spoke to Deacon Jones dealership about buying a Jeep from them back in December. I drove all the way from Knoxville to go get the car after a great sales conversation with Mike. He and Andy, our sales rep, are the only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. They ensured that we would be in and out quickly given that we had a solid 6-hour drive back home after leaving, but it was anything but fast. After several hours, we finally left the dealership with a new Jeep. This is not what's upsetting as at least while I was there, they were accommodating and kind. It's all that has unfolded -- or rather not unfolded after that I'm upset about. Here I am a month and a half later and they still have not mailed my title to the clerk's office for registration, and instead of calling to let me know it's going to be delayed, when I called to talk to the same person for the third time about this issue finally told me that they don't even have the title yet from who they purchased it from. Well, that certainly would have been helpful information to know, especially when we spoke the last 2 times and I was promised that the paperwork was being sent that same day. This was obviously a flat out lie. Not only do they not have a title to even send, now my emissions testing and temporary tag are going to expire before they do have it. Who knows when that's even going to be as they said it would be at least a few more weeks. Well, last time it was supposedly going out the same day, so I don't know what to believe at this point. So much time and money wasted at Deacon Jones. Not only are they non-communicative, but I've also had the car for a month and already has a "death wobble" that is not only unsafe to drive, but now I have to spend even more time to have it serviced by another dealership to fix. All while I don't even have registration for the vehicle. I'm very disappointed by the experience that Deacon Jones has provided and I would not recommend anyone wasting their time and money dealing with their run-around customer service. read more

Our truck broke down with a busted seal on the differential and spun a bearing on a recent trip from Virginia to Florida. Their service department was wonderful about checking it out quickly, finding replacement parts, and doing the repairs. They also helped us find a rental car while it was in for repairs, including driving me to the rental car location 45 minutes away. I am writing this review to recognize Aaron Hodges, Service Lane Manager at Deacon Jones Auto Group for his outstanding customer service. I initially waited for almost 20 minutes just to be greeted as I drove in for my scheduled 15,000 mile oil change. The service department was completely overbooked and understaffed. A standard oil change wait time was running 3+ hours and I'm sure that wait time was extended as one person in the service department had just gone home sick. Understanding the time crunch I was in, Aaron was able to stay on top of things and I was in and out within an hour and a half. I was more than happy with this time as a standard 15.000 mile service was taken care of and the recommended throttle body cleaning. Aaron let me know as soon as my vehicle was ready, made sure I had a money saving coupon I could use and was polite enough to all me out. Kudos to Aaron for making what would have most certainly been a negative experience into a very positive one! read more

Went in looking for a new car, well new to me (used). Was promptly greeted while browsing by Jesse, he was funny and very nice. Once we found the perfect car for me the rest of the transaction was a breeze. It did take a while to get into finance, but Jesse kept me company with stories of his puppies, and before you know it finance took me away. My car was ready for pickup as soon as I left finance, Jesse then went over everything inside the new Jeep with me making sure I knew how to work every new gaget they added over the years. My overall experience was 100% satisfied and would reccomend anyone looking to make a new purchase to come in and see these guys at Deacon Jones. I have never had this kind of experience in the past. After being disappointed by several other dealerships in the Wilmington area, we decided to visit Deacon Jones. It was a pleasant experience and we did purchase a new Chrysler Pacifica. The price was good except for the additional warranty we were forced to purchase for $2000. This is not an optional warranty. Months in, we needed service to fix a light and a scratch. The scratch was "covered" under that non-optional warranty but they refused to repair. Actually they kept the van for almost 3 months and forgot to service it. That mechanic was fired, says the manager. Now a year later, they over charged for an oil change... almost $200 and seven showed which brand oil and filter they used. Advanced auto sells it for $42. So how does an oil change cost $150+ for 20 minutes work? This dealership prides on giving a great first impression to make the sale and quietly rips off their customers when they make you pay for a warranty they do not actually honer. Had an alternator and battery die while on a road trip, and this was one of the only repair shops around. They were nice, and replaced the parts as promised, but drastically overcharged. They claimed 3.5 hours of labor for a job that should take half an hour. I wouldn't recommend taking your car here unless you have no alternatives. read more

I purchased a Tahoe from them on 2013. I had a total loss and needed some papers to get my gap to pay the difference and also for deacon jones to cancel the GMPP plan. Well the lady that is in charge of that Nancy was extremely rude. I ended up having to go there personally to get the papers. Then when I called to get the GMPP cancelled she was very rude then demanded proof that my car was a total loss. I told her I had been there and she had seen the insurance papers were they stated so. Then we lost connection and I called again and when she picked up and I said who I was she hung up on me. It was so unprofessional that I ended up talking to the gap and had to find a way to do things myself. I would not ever go there to buy another vehicle. Do Not Waste Your Time!!! read more

I purchased a used vehicle in Sept.I was treated wonderfully, or so I thought. I purposely bought an extra warranty for AC, Steering, etc. I wanted it covered from bumper to bumper. Well I put it in their Service Dept on Tues., heard nothing, I called on Thursday, still hadn't worked on it because it wasn't warrantied. Mind you, my car is still in their shop. No work has been done. Worst, unknowledgable Service Dept. I have ever dealt with. They say it is a tie rod and steering box. It probably is, that is what I told them was wrong. This was going to be my last car purchase. I paid cash. I have a terminal illness. The guy I bought it from knew that. Deacon Jones Service Department and Customer Service should never be used in the same sentence. They have no interest in being cordial, or in sharing information with the customer. Just like many dealerships, they deal in numbers and could care less about what your personal situation might be. I recently dropped off a vehicle for service on a Wednesday morning, and discussed with the rep that we were going out of town and would be back on Friday and would need it for another road trip that evening. I asked if that would be possible, and was told "should be", and they would call me as soon as they were able to perform the diagnostic. Well, I didn't hear from them Wednesday, so when I called Thursday morning to check the status, I was told that they hadn't gotten to it yet but would give me a call as soon as they got it in. I asked what the hold up was and they said Wednesday was quite busy, but should be able to get to it today. So when I didn't hear from them all day Thursday I was concerned. I called them first thing Friday morning hoping to hear that they had gotten to it late Thursday and had just not called with the diagnosis. So when I was told that it had still not been looked at, I was not happy. I again asked what the hold up was and was told that since I didn't have an appointment, that they were trying to fit me in, and they had just not been able to yet. I asked why hadn't anyone expressed this to me before during one of my previous calls for status check. They had nothing to say other than I had not made an appointment, but no one had mentioned to me that appointments were necessary. Needless to say, I decided to take my business to another service center, and will never again use DJ Service Center for repairs. read more

Just bought my wife a new Dart here. I have bought several cars in my life both new and used and this dealership is by far the best I've ever done business with. I took in a previous I car I owned for service and they went above and beyond to take care of my issues so when it was time for a new car I came here first. Let's face it cars all do the same thing, get you from here to there and one makers model is about the same as the other makes in the same class so for me service is one of the most important factors in my car buying decision. I am so happy that I came here for my purchase. The salesman was honest and helpful. I really felt like he was looking out for my best interest and wanted a lifelong customer more than a quick one time commission. The finance person was also very good. He found me an acceptable deal and I signed the paperwork and off I went. I was called by him a day or two later as he had found me a much better loan. I was out of town and he held it for me until my return. We redid the paperwork with the new loan quickly and I left more than happy as he saved me thousands over the life of the loan. I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu and I have been receiving recall letters from deacon jones since I first bought the car ( I purchased the car from creech auto sales but the car was originally sold from deacon jones ) . I have had this car for 2 years and not once have I ever gotten a recall done and had no issues with my vehicle UNTIL I finally decided to take it here . The recall said I had a transition problem and there was a second recall but I don't remember what it was . I took my vehicle in , I was told it would be 2 hours per recall . Mind you I had TWO so that's 4 hours . Okay , I get there waited 6 hours , seen people who came after me leave before me and there was actually a few customers who had to make a scene to get serviced . One man was complaining because all he had was an oil change and had been waiting for 4 hours . Once my paper work was received , and I went to retrieve my car the paper said I had only been treated for ONEEEE recall mind you I was scheduled for two and had been sitting there for 6 hours ! I got my car back and I couldn't turn my steering wheel to the left without applying force and it freely shifted to the right without me even touching it , I've been having nothing but problems since I bought the car here . got this recall done in November . Here it is the beginning of February and and my car is dead . It won't even start , I can't unlock the doors or anything the transmission and alternator blew in it and that's what they supposedly fixed . all this happened after I bought my car here I've had nothing but trouble . And to top it all off they had the nerve to send me another recall for the same damn thing I just got fixed ! I have to buy a whole knew car , And the customer service was horrible . read more

On March 3rd, i found my dream car on Deacon Jones dodge website. I went onto USAA website to go through the car buying serivce. Shortly after someone called me from The dealership by the name of lee. He dealt with internet leads. We were discussing the car I wanted and I confirmed the price which was $39,609. I was eligible for a $1k usaa discount bringing the price down to $38,609. That was before I even arrived to do any negotiating. I left less than 30 minutes after getting off the phone with Lee and made the hour and a half drive. Upon arriving they took my car to appraise it while i went On a test drive. Came back from my test drive and the salesman brought me the paperwork with all the pricing. To my surprise the car was $46k. A little confused i told The salesman the price was $39,609 online before any additional discounts. Went online to see that within an hour and a half the price had been changed. I didnt Care what it currently said because when i called I had Discussed the price and felt like that's what i should've gotten it for. The salesman went to get the finance manager. He came out and i explained to him the situation. He said "well i can't do it for that" in a very rude way. I told him to give me my keys and i left. I contacted corporate while sitting in the parking lot and will not let this go until something is done to my satisfaction. I wouldn't recommend this dealership if they gave cars away. We purchased a 2012 durango that the engine light has been on it since day one. General Manager Neil texted and texted for us to get this car and it has been a headache since we have had it. We have been back and forth to service at least 10 times in the first month for the check engine light. Asked to talk or meet with the same manager who said it was a great vehicle after we asked them to rip up our app before we even got it. Our credit was ran so much, we may as well go ahead and purchase this great SUV. what a joke. When we went to meet Neil, he came out knowing we were waiting to speak with him and he stops in front of us to talk to a couple already in the process of buying a vehicle. I have been managing for years and that is not how you handle customers no matter how upset they are, AT LEAST SHOW CONSIDERATION FOR The SITUATION, since we have wasted so much gas making several trips to service. The only person compassionate is Chris in service because he is even frustrated with the what we are going thru and how many times we have been there. The truck had recalls on it before we got it which we were not made aware of. Will we purchase again? NO, NEVER. We will go somewhere that backs their product confidently and let us pick do the normal, which is go to a lot, know what we want, apply for it, approved or not. and in that order. What you want should be at your discretion and not theirs. After all, you make the payments every month. One person won't stop the show so they say, but my experience will make people aware as they step on that lot. If I can not get what we want and we say we want to wait, that is what it should be. I was harrassed about getting this car and now I see why. The problems with it were pushed off on me. I wish I could add attachments. Nothing better than receipts to back your claims and I have them all. Good luck with your car buying experience, maybe it will be better than mine. Nobody but Chris in service is attentive and has a sense of urgency. He should be the manager but that's just my opinion. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I sent my 1 year old car here (2017 Chevy spark) for transmission issues. After giving me the car back 4 times within one month telling me it was fixed, with the drive home each time it broke down again. Had to get it towed 3 times to the dealership. Then, because of how long it was going to take each time to fix, they stopped giving loaner cars. Maybe if they fixed it the first time I wouldn't need one. Everyone was great help until we met the service manager and the president of the dealership. Please do not take your cars here. They will break them even more! Oh, did I mention they dented my car while it was in service and refused to accept the fault. All they did was "fix" the dent. BUYER BEWARE! I purchased a NEW 2015 Dodge RAM 1500 Lariame from Deacon Jones 8/10/2015. I drove off the lot and when I got home I noticed the truck drove odd. Come to find out there was a screw in the left tire. I returned to Deacon Jones to get the tire replaced under warranty and they took 3 hours to replace the tire! The following day I noticed the vehicle wobbled, of course they forgot to properly balance the tire. I returned at 9:00AM 2 days after purchasing the vehicle and they completed the balance at 3:00PM that is a total of 6 hours for a balance. I went to wash the vehicle the following day and noticed deep grooves exactly 4 inches from the outside of the wheel in a circle pattern. It was too high for curbing and the wheel was just mounted, could you guess what it could have been? Yes they do not properly mount tires! At this point I am pissed! They said they could not warranty the plastic wheel cover keep in mind this is a $40-$50 part and I purchased a $47,000 truck. They eventually agreed to purchase the wheel cover and now it has been 4 weeks and no wheel cover, or call back. I WILL NEVER purchase a vehicle from Deacon Jones again! Nor will I recommend this terrible customer server. Nor will they complete my followup maintenance. There is a dodge dealership in Garner I will drive down the road. read more

BUYER BEWARE Please be very careful when buying a vehicle from Deacon Jones Auto Group. I purchased a 2010 Jeep Wrangler back in October 25, 2013 for 25,000.00. I just found out from a dealership in Florida that this Jeep Wrangler had been in an accident on September 5, 2012. Deacon Jones Auto Group never told me that it was in an accident. I purchased that Jeep approximately 13 months after the accident. The right thing to do was to tell me about the accident. I was told by the general sales manager that they are NOT required to disclose any damage that is less than 25% of the value of the vehicle in question. True but don't we all entrust the reputable dealerships to be truthful, as a voluntary attribute not necessarily legally binding one. I learned two things from this. Not to ever deal with Deacon Jones Auto Park again and next time I deal with a dealership that I will do my due diligence on not only the vehicle I want to purchase but on the dealership it self. read more

Saturday afternoon comes I call again asking if they got to look at van was told no they only do oil changes Saturday's .... Monday comes my husband decided not to go to work and stay at dealer thinking they would work on van he goes to service department letting them know my wife came Friday dropping off my work van has anybody gotten chance to look at it the whole team claims there was no van dropped off and they had no idea was was sitting there which is a damn LIE..:. They told him we will get on it right now my husband stayed up there for 3 hours they programmed they key claimed it wouldn't stay started cuz fuel pump was bad was gonna charge us $407 just for labor of putting it in before we left we asked are you sure that's only reason it's not staying on they assured us that was the reason why so we paid them $360 just for having key programmed and them supposedly trying to get it to start and stay on....: so we had it towed out and taken to a shop and got fuel pump installed for a cheaper price about a hour later fuel pump installed van still wouldn't start so got fuel pump no reason we went immediately back to service center let them know that van still wouldn't start and why did they assure was that fuel pump was the issue van wouldn't stay on ended up speaking to service director Matt, explained to him I'm the whole situation starting from Friday and basically "apologized" then offered that one of his tech could go to wear van was a run some more test and charge me half price or have us get van towed back to dealer I was pissed off now told him they shouldn't never have told us that the fuel pump was the problem because we would've have left the van at the dealer to get looked at again but now we were stuck with another towing fee having to get it back towed to the dealer... next day we get it towed back to chevy dealer we go inside let them know van is back they say we will get someone right on it... we waited for about 30 min finally they go run computer again guy can't find no codes he says all wires are good suggest it might be a certain part he tells us he has to check if they have that part in stock we waited around 30ish min nobody still hasn't updated us meanwhile we waiting my husband is in his van rechecking wires trying to see if anything is loose or damaged he notices a wire was loose and not all the way in the socket he pushes it in and van starts without shutting off.... I was happy and pissed how didn't they see that them being the dealer and claimed ignition wires and etc. was check we go inside tell them my husband fixed it spoke to mat and Jessica asking them how is it that tech missed that isn't that his job to check see why it's not staying on I was told NO that's not the techs job ......
