I had doctors tell me to shut up if they thought I had something they would let me know otherwise quit reading.. but you'll definitely get a drug test. They couldn't recognize a Tickborn infection if their life counted on it especially babesia. And relapse fever. You well just get labeled with fibo ms lupus arthritis The neurologist will even tell you it's not here and it doesn't do this to you. My ex-husband had our daughter take him to Deaconess E.R. because he was in severe pain. They did a CT scan and found multiple large lesions on his lungs, liver, and kidneys. They refused to give him any pain medications and discharged him with instructions to come back in a few days for a biopsy. My daughter is a registered nurse, and I worked as a CNA. We know that it was cancer. He was in the final stages. My daughter took him to Baptist Health in Louisville, where they immediately admitted him and put him on pain management because he passed away less than a week later from small-cell lung cancer. Which is highly aggressive. I have never seen such cruelty from a hospital like Deaconess. I will never go to that hospital again! People in the state of Indiana complain about the quality of healthcare in this state. Now I know why. I would not recommend anyone to move here or to use Deaconess. I was in the Midtown Deaconess Hospital because my heart was out of rhythm. I have atrial fib, a heart arrhythmia. When I was in there, one of the nurse aides asked me if I had ordered dinner yet, and I said no. She snapped at me by saying, "Well, order it!" I told my nurse, who came in later, that I did not want that aide in my room again. If I did that to a patient at the hospital I worked at, I would have been fired! read more

Surgery Center: Excellent Staff Security Driver: Lady was friendly, courteous, and helpful. RNs: Mia and Natalie cared for me like I was a relative they liked. Drs. Moore and Robinson Top Tier in kindness and as care providers. I could not have received better care and all facilities were well maintained by Housekeeping staff. read more

Waited in the ER for 6 hours!! My baby had a 105.7 fever!! I couldn't get any answers at all!! Went back to triage and he had a 103 fever and they still didn't give him medicine!! Finally got a room after I said I wanted to see the charged nurse. Then was told by a nurse practitioner, which wasn't even a doctor yet that this is just a viral infection and sometimes we have to run its course. What would he want us to do tonight? I said maybe you can add something to a swap that he's already had. Then he was talking about doing more blood work, which he has had all week long and everything came back normal. So we proceeded to say no we didn't want anything and then he started changing his wording and contradicting himself because we wanted to leave. Then he made us feel like we were bad parents, so yeah, I will not be going back there again!! Also I had people that came in after me that we were getting rooms before I did, which is unacceptable, like they weren't even treating my baby like it was emergency, which is beyond a BS!! read more

Wife life-flighted to hospital with apparent stroke. The emergency staff had her stabilized and being evaluated by the time we got there! They were all very attentive and informative to us on our arrival. Our family doctor came with us and she was impressed with the ER team! The hospital staff was professional but not all that informative for the family and friends! Definitely set up to roll patients in quickly and out quickly. First time we have ever been discharged in the lobby and left to get to our car and go home! read more

We went to Deaconess Gateway Emergency Friday when his truck ran over his arm. He had stitched and 2 broken fingers. The people were great. Brought X-ray machine to him in the room. We were there for about 4 hours. *But they referred him to Dr Green, a hand specialist, for Monday August 26,2024. we called the office, they couldn't get him in until Tuesday September 3rd. It didn't feel right. the ER told us that he should be seen today, Monday. TheER put a temporary cast on and his pinky finger was not set, because it had too many fractures. The ER told us it would require a hand specialist. He would have to have a pin or wire to fix the pinky. I was not comfortable with waiting a week and a half before it would be fixed Plus the cast was a temporary one and this Dr Green would put a permanent cast on. I called Orthopedic Associates they wouldn't see him. Because he was referred to Green. So I called Tristate Orthopedics they said come on in. So Dr Perry's assistant set the finger without using any pins or wires. And put a splint on it, and it's fine! shoooe wee! glad that's over. * read more

Let's Talk about Gateway. My wife is being treated at Deaconess Gateway for cancer. I am not sure where too begin. If you are going to the INFUSION Clinic expect nothing but the Absolute Best Care possible. After receiving your Chemotherapy you are sent to several different doctors offices. For pain management my wife is being treated by Dr.Canlas . The pain medication is as scary as the chemo lots of side effects. One of the medications my wife was prescribed is LYRICA . My wife and CVS a has been contacting Dr.Canlas's office for a week now for a refill. CVS or my wife neither one has been contacted replied to. Yesterday we found out the nurse is off currently. Apparently the nurse is the ONLY QUALIFIED Person at Deaconess Gateway to write a prescription. My wife ran out of the LYRICA as of this morning. My wife take Hea sixth dose of Chemo on Tuesday and we have an appointment to see Dr CANLAS on Monday . Each time the prescription runs out they fail to reply in a reasonable amount of time. This hospital is So focused on profits and expansion that they've allowed their quality of care and service to go to absolute shit. Wife went to the ER severely dehydrated, sick and in pain with an unknown illness as well as a hernia. The FIRST trip they were decent. The following day she was still throwing up non-stop and dehydrating again, she sat in the ER for 13 hours and wasn't seen. Had to leave to take kids to school and returned only to spend another 8 hours there! Had to take IV fluids again after being in the waiting for so long unattended to. When we left we realized they'd called in prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy! We called the ER to have them sent to the correct pharmacy and was told they were too busy and would call us back. WE called them back 3 hours later to inquire and they said they would get them sent. 18 hours later WE called them again and were told the doctor would send them. Now we wait... But I will NEVER take anyone that I care about back to this shithole ever again. Somewhere along the lines they lost sight of their patients and their care!!! read more

I was asked to go to this space so your patients waiting for a room could have mine faster, my heart monitor could be fitted to me in this magical space, that was sold to us as a " celebration space" designed to make you feel pampered before going home. Since it is Dec 23rd please allow me to quote the movie Elf... "You sit on a throne of lies" It tickled me from the moment we saw the name !! Really??? You just told me I could have cancer or another fatal condition and you lure me to this so called fabulous place GENIUSLY named The Departure Room ?? I'm 60 yrs old so you didn't lure me away from my room with a puppy, candy, or ice cream! Nope, you profiled me and got me there with sandwiches, fruit, and non existent pastries. WELL PLAYED DEACONESS, WELL PLAYED INDEED ! Is there two elevators ? One up? One down? With this well thought out name I have some better snack options I suggest... Red Hots candy, Heavenly Hash Bars, Tombstone Pizza, Ghost Pepper cheese, Devils Food Cake, for those optimistic pure souls, perhaps Angel Food Cake? I'm conflicted about writing this review. In the past year, 3 of my family members have been in this hospital for many weeks at a time. My brother was an inpatient for a month ~ a year ago, my mother for 3 weeks at the same time. My father is currently an inpatient. My biggest concern is that the staff revolves constantly, and no one stays long enough to really learn about the patient's condition. His current hospitalist, Dr. Rashidian has taken the time to discuss his test results, next steps with us and we so appreciate him. He is the best! The nurses, PCTs and respiratory therapists are all extremely professional, but when I ask questions regarding his care, they are honest and tell me "the is the first time I'm on this shift". I question if the length of stay is due to medical reasons, or something else. I'm open to any feedback from the Deaconess Gateway Hospital staff or ombudsman. read more

This place has been so fantastic. All of the staff are so professional and so upbeat and knowledgeable. The doctors have been fantastic. They take their times to answer all the questions. I was treated in the ER at 2am on a Monday morning for GI issues. I was in Evansville visiting family. It took only about 10-15 mins from the time I walked through the door and the Nurse and Dr. Gilbert were with me. They quickly and professionally fixed me up and I left in much better shape than I arrived. I fell 3 times in the ER waiting room. No one would help me after I pulled the red cord. Except one when I fell the last time. We sat there from 1 to 10:30 pm at night. Then Andrew Houseman yelled at me. I'm a heart patient and I have cirrhosis of the liver, breast cancer. That's so wrong to be treated that way. Great hospital that gave my wife and I great care during separate stays. My wife had surgery for an intestinal issue and I had heart valve replacement, both in 2014. We're alive and kicking and I credit the doctors, nurses and other staff we had at Gateway. We live in SC now but I still miss having that hospital nearby. read more

Dr. Hurlock has been my doctor since birth. She has done everything in her power to help me maintain good physical and mental health. I would not ask for another doctor given the choice, but her coworkers don't given the high amount of effort like Dr. Hurlock does. Today my appointment was scheduled for 4:10 pm. I was not called in until 5:00 pm. I do realize that sometimes things get mixed up and people get behind, but almost a whole hour?! During my appointment, all went well as it always does with Dr. Hurlock. An overall review- Dr. Hurlock is the sweet icing on the dry, bitter cake of the Deaconess Pediatric Center. read more

What a great hospital. I love how friendly everyone is and the facilities are so nice. It is nice how they painted and decorated so you don't feel like you are in a typical hospital with white walls. They have a nice cafeteria and gift shop. read more

OKAY, Boy do i have a lot to say about this place. Firstly, my daughter kept complaining about the nurses being rude and reckless. We don't need this negativity while she is hurting.
