When we removed the paper the day before our move-in date, I noticed a strange spot on the front edge. Upon closer inspection, it became clear that it was a large chip in the granite edge that had been poorly repaired. Considering the tile work has already been completed, I am now exploring legal options to hold Unity Tiles accountable for selling and installing a damaged -- and then patched -- granite countertop. We had VJ and his team over to redo our floors in our home. I had full carpeting upstairs…read more(4bedrooms, closets,hallway and stairs) my downstairs had wood floors but they were cherry red and I hated them so I had them refinished and stained to a lighter color. VJ came to my home the first time and took measurements and next day he reached out and gave me a quote it was very reasonable and I agreed to move forward and we schedule for end of March, with a week to a week in half of work. First day they were on time and came ready to work. I was home with 2 dogs and they made the situation as comfortable as possible. in the evening they all cleaned up and left. Next day same thing on time and did some great work and cleaned up again. We were living with our dogs and kids under construction the cleaning up was very much appreciated. Originally he was not going to do my stairs (I was going to DIY it but thought he should do it) I was so grateful they did my stairs! They came out perfect! I am so happy with the work they put in. He did the molding and shoes all around the house for us. There were a few hiccups with my home (wasn't leveled) VJ gave me straight up view and told me he could do just do the work as is or I can level it for you and he explained everything. I liked that him and the team took pride in their work and I trusted his input and glad I listened. I highly recommend hiring him they did a phenomenal job! My home looks great!

My original plan was to just sand and refinish the floors and stairs. Both stairs and floors were under carpet for decades. The floors were still in decent condition, but the stairs were too damaged.....full of staples and nails. I was hoping the stairs could be saved, but Vijay told it to me straight. They're not salvageable. He knew I was on a budget, so what Vijay did for me was just replace the top part of the stairs (treads) and put a matching piece of wood overlay on the bottom (riser). But it looked like I installed a whole new staircase. Vijay is passionate about his trade and it shows in his work. You can tell he has a lot of experience and loves what he does. He's a true craftsman.

We first met Joe when he came to our home to give us an estimate for what we were looking to do…read morewhich was a renovation of the kitchen and some additional items throughout the house.. As soon as Joe came in I realized that him and I knew a lot of the same people in the area as he was a local kid from Middle Village and so was I. After a few times coming to the house and telling us what he can do and us telling him what we wanted, we were able to settle in and agree for the go ahead of the renovation. Let me just say that was a great move. We interviewed many contractors but Joe seemed to know what we wanted. He also knew how we can improve on what we wanted. Joe has vision from his many years of being in the business. Needless to say, he was fair in his price compared to the other contractors that we had met. Throughout the course of the renovation my wife and I were astounded by how clean and neat they were. In addition I was very happy about the way his team conducted themselves in my home and how respectful they were in front of my two young daughters and my wife, which I very much appreciated. The finished job is awesome. Joe and his team did a great job in transforming my old 70s kitchen to a more modern up-to-date classy looking kitchen. My wife and I couldn't be happier. 4 years ago my wife and I bought the fixer-upper of fixer-uppers. So much needed to be redone that…read morewe decided to gut the whole place, room by room... while living there... with two kids. So that's been fun. Fast forward to this past fall, where we finally decided to tackle the (frankly, horrifying) first floor; kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room and adding a desperately needed powder room. Given that our second floor and attic had already been redone, you could say I've been around the ol' contractor block. We've had some good and some bad, but no one I trusted to do the entire job. As my wife and I were figuring out what we wanted, and could realistically afford to do, my neighbor invited us over to see her newly renovated basement. This was previously a raw space that was now pristine. It looked like new construction in a 100+ year old house. And our neighbor had only the best things to say about her contractor, Joe. We eventually setup a meeting with Joe and he really goes the extra mile from the jump. He and his wife Karin are wonderful, down to earth people who didn't seem bothered by the toddler chaos going on all around us while we spoke. They even took us around to see past jobs of similar scope. Endlessly helpful. When we decided to move forward, cost was obviously a factor. Joe was honest, transparent, and willing to work with us to stay within our budget. Once the job started, it went as smoothly as one could hope. Joe's crew are a great bunch of guys. I won't lie and say that not having a kitchen for 10 weeks with 2 young kids is fun stuff, but they made it as painless as possible. The workspace was always clean and we had a path to our fridge. And they took the time to do things right -- leveling out ceiling beams that could have passed as a template for a skateboard before putting up sheetrock. Joe called regularly with status updates, and to hash out any unclear requirements. He'a got a great eye for design -- making a number of suggestions we were thrilled with -- from room layouts, down to details like a barn door for our laundry room. He suggested cabinets that I had reservations about at first, but ended up loving. He and Karin even came with us to pick out countertops and appliances. Above and beyond. To wrap it up, finding a good contractor is hard and we found a GREAT one, so I was almost hesitate to write this. I don't want y'all booking him up until 2022! I've got a couple more jobs to do!
