My LG refrigerator from Costco stopped working with an "FF E" error code. Due to it being 2.5 years…read moreold (outside the 2 year warranty), I had to get it fixed myself. He came out and opened the freezer door, noted the frost on the inside and proceeded to tell me the freezer fan was not providing cooled air to the refrigerator and the ice was preventing the fan from circulating. This was all correct. He then stated that the frost build up was due to "insulation going bad" and I need to contact LG to see if they will replace it and that "there was nothing" he could do. In less than 5 minutes of arriving, said "that'll be $85." I was stunned and told him to point out the cold spots on the back of the fridge that he said he found. I couldn't feel them and he then got a laser thermometer. My house thermostat is set to 69°F and the coldest spot he found on my refrigerator was 67°F. I refused to pay him. Do not use him. Full stop. I am sadly not surprised there is another review on here from someone else who he did the same thing to. I used another business that actually has a reputable track record and a professional technician will at least provide an actual diagnosis and total cost upfront. He didn't even look up the error code.

We'll get to you when we get to you but it might not be today since we're so stacked with service calls from the weekend." That day, we closed at 1:30 and prepared everything for the next day, staying past our normal 2:30 time to leave. Around 3, gates were closed and we left for the day. Their tech shows up at 3:30 and calls me. I thought at the very least, they would have let us know when they're 10-15 minutes away. I called the company and said no way I can make it from Fresno with the rush hour traffic. I asked the representative if I could make an appointment for the next day and she said it's not her call, but she'll let her boss know to give me call back and confirm. I said okay please make sure he or she calls me, thank you. Another unprofessional moment occurred the next day. No one calls. And somehow, I was able to get our ice machine working by messing around with some settings. About an hour after that, a tech randomly shows up. I told him I didn't think anyone from his company was showing up because I never got a called from the boss to schedule anything. He calls his supervisor and his supervisor wants to get paid for the time the techs came out and I said you guys didn't do anything. No estimated time of arrival, no phone calls or texts to keep me in the loop. Just a very unprofessional company, "we'll get to you when we get to you if and when it's possible." He pretty much said, "Fine, don't worry any the bill, we won't come out when you call next time." And I said, "Fine, bye." I would rather replace the whole ice machine than ever call this very unprofessional company again. Hoshizaki needs to do better and have another company represent you.
