Debbie is so wonderful! I brought her my dress for ring dance which had heavy intricate beading at the torso. She was able to take it in to fit me perfectly! When I came back to try it on, we had some technical difficulties with the zipper to which she fixed right away. She is great at what she does and cares about the quality of her work. Definitely recommend!

Debbie was very professional and caring. She knew exactly how to do her job and gave me an excellent bustle for my gown. She also made a veil for me, that completed my look. Thank you so much for making my day even more special.

I had Debbie tailor 3 pairs of slacks for me and she did the job for all 3 pairs for the price of tailoring 2 pairs of slacks I was quoted elsewhere. She did a fantastic job and even finished everything earlier than her original timeline which was definitely a nice surprise. Debbie altered my wedding dress for our summer 2011 wedding. My mom and baby sister also had alterations done on their dresses for the wedding at that time. The following summer, my sister got married and we went back for her dress alterations. Since then, I have referred several people to her! Two brides were a dear friend (like family) and my sister-in-law. Both were more than pleased with her work! Debbie is AMAZING! I brought her a sample wedding gown and she was able to make it my perfect wedding dress. She took it in, took off a ton of fabric from the inside and bottom, made and attached sleeves and added buttons. She did it all in a short amount of time and was always kind and happy to help. Debbie is fantastic at what she does and you probably won't meet a more pleasant person. She works out of her home which feels comfortable and personal. She loves helping people and making them happy by fixing, mending and altering your clothes. She saved me from having to throw away some of my favorite shirts because she was able to repair them when I couldn't. She has great attention to detail and does high quality work. She is good at listening and communicating with customers which is always important, and her prices are incredibly reasonable. She will alter, mend and hem regular clothes but I think she's best known for doing alterations to bridal gowns, bridesmaids dresses, formal wear such as prom dresses, etc. I think she also does veils! I called Debbie needing a formal maternity gown altered in 10 days. She scheduled me an appointment the following day and had the dress ready in 3 days. She hemmed the length, took in the shoulders, and repaired an oddly designed zipper. Her prices are very reasonable. The dress looks great and I was thrilled she could help me on such short notice. Debbie does excellent work. She is always professional and I appreciate her willingness to squeeze me in when I needed a quick turn around. I first used her for suit alterations for my husband. I have since used her for simple alterations as well as a costume alteration for the Renaissance Festival. I'm already married so I don't need a wedding dress altered, but when I have gone for my fittings, I have had the opportunity to see some of the bridal and formal work she has done. AMAZING! Established in 2002.

I began doing all types of alterations and sewing projects in my home part-time. Wedding and formal gowns quickly became my favorite projects, so I worked in a few bridal shops to gain valuable experience. Debbie's Custom Sewing and Alterations is now full-time with contracted help during the busiest season.

Meet the Business Owner: Debbie R.

I have loved sewing from a very early age. In high school, I even made clothes for my mom to wear to work at her office job. My first custom wedding gown was my own, in 1982. When it became necessary to support myself and my growing children, this was the obvious choice! They have all grown up and moved out now, but I still enjoy my thriving home business. It warms my heart when a young lady comes to me for her prom dress alterations and comes back years later with her wedding gown!

I paid over $600 and trusted her to fix the zipper and re-bead the back -- but on my wedding day, the second I put my dress on, it completely failed. My chest dropped, the fabric creased, and I couldn't enjoy my ceremony. And Please note - my ceremony was only 30 minutes long. When I calmly brought this up, she screamed at me, got in my face, mocked me, dropped beads on me , and dismissed everything. The beadwork she did was already breaking -- beads were literally falling off the same day. Another seamstress later told me the dress just needed to be pressed -- which julie was trying to charge $200- $300 to do. Even worse? I asked the owner for her business name she operates under or LLC and was told they didn't know -- even though they've worked with her for years. I asked, "So you don't know if she's a legit business?" and they said, "Yes." The level of negligence is incredibly concerning, especially when they're sending brides for her for such important high-stakes work.

We did have to wait about 15-20 minutes as other people were ordering and picking out group attire. We didn't mind waiting as we were greeted as soon as we walked in and the two staff kept reassuring us we'd be helped soon. This Men's Wearhouse is pretty small so if there's other parties don't be afraid to be close! We did gander around the store while we waited but noticed there isn't much room compared to other stores. The store was clean and the signing was very modern on the store front. Who has time to sew anymore? Not me...but then I found Debbie!! I call her my "wardrobe magician" because that's what she can do with clothes! Although she is well known for bridal alterations, I took her some maternity clothes when I was pregnant because they didn't fit quite right. When she was done with them, it looked like they were custom made for me! Most recently, I took her a whole stack of clothes that needed tweaking. Jeans that were too wide legged, the hem of a jacket that had fallen out, dresses that were too big or too long, jeans that needed new buttons, etc. Everything fits and looks exactly the way I want it to now!
