Hey, it is so refreshing these days, to be able to get a great fresh cooked meal, a cold draft beer (or three), good friendly service and still have money in your wallet. Sportsman's is the best! I love Baldwin and it's basic no-frills establishments. The burgers are fantastic. Tacos, titillating, the beer, I like mine simple and clear... delish! And mmmmmmmm those fries are about is good as it gets. So next time you are in Baldwin, give Debbie's a try. Up North Bar Food! I stopped in coming back down state from my annual spring steelhead trip. Had a cheeseburger and fries because that's what you order in a small town bar. Burger was decent, lots of grilled onions. Hand cut fries were hot and crisp. I added a side of slaw which was the typical food service variety. Typical Friday night crowd. Service was prompt and my waitress friendly. If you are passing through Baldwin, this is the place to stop. Now if they would bring back the Sporty Burger ;) read more

My brother recommended Debbie's for a quick lunch while I was in Baldwin. I asked what the waitress recommended. Amanda said the burgers were the best. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe with the hand-cut fries my brother got the jalapeno buger with the hand cut fries. Both were excellent, just like you'd make at home! I've been in plenty of Up North bars and stuff. This is one of the better ones. Decor is basic rural up north (this ain't Petoskey, thank goodness). Lots of floor space and have a feeling just wasn't 'cause of Covid. Looked like a group of regulars at the bar, unmasked and proud of it. So we went to a booth off alone. Young waitress was new and up front that she was just learning the stuff but charming so we were patient. The food is truly homemade, by Debbie! French Onion soup was super not and really very good, not salty. The grilled cheese was fine especially as they brought me pickle slices as requested. My friend's onion rings looked and tasted scrumptious, real batter covered rings. And they have micro brews, so up north bars are getting better. Enjoyed the food and the local flavor of the place. Note the menu states hamburgers are made from local meat. I note in the reviews some refer to the place as a dump and dive bar. People - if you want trendy chic places then keep going to Traverse and the high rent places. Developers haven't driven the locals out of Baldwin; independent restaurants increasingly hard to find, keep this one going. And make sure to stop in Made in Michigan next door for lovely locally made artwork. read more

The sweetest dive bar I have ever been to. Bartender Brooke made up some bad ass shots out of any type of liquor my friends and I picked out. Not only is Brooke the barest bartender out there the food is hella amazing. Let's just say homemade beer batter and drinkers with the added kicker are so worth checking out. read more

My friend and I stopped by for lunch on a recent fly fishing trip. I'm no a foodie, but I love food and the food was good. The service was great, and the waitress friendly. We entered about 2 pm if not before, anyways...we ordered two coffees because it was raining and cold. It took fifteen minutes to get water and an additional 10 minutes to get coffee. We ordered the fried pickles w/ranch... They weren't very good and we asked about the ranch because it tasted like tartar sauce . We did ask how long it would take for what we wanted band she said a half hour, I said that's fine and we ordered. Low and behold about 10 minutes later I asked if we can get it to go and she said the order hadn't been putting IN! Never will I ever attempt to buy food at this place!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The waitress was great about trying to keep the patrons happy, but both her and the cook just needed some more help. This place was very hometown bar-ish. Waitstaff was super friendly not only to us but our two boys (7 and 5 years old) they even hung up the pictures that they colored! Great service! The staff was very nice and aware of their surroundings.
