Took our money and refused lessons. Two of our daughters were going to class there. One of our daughter was hurt during class. They refused to acknowledge this. We felt uncomfortable to send her back so we cancelled her lessons. The other daughter wanted to continue lessons but the owner called and told us not to send her as well. Payment is required one month upfront and we were willing to take a loss on the one daughter but not both. The owner refuses refunds. read more

Parents, think twice before enrolling your child here! My daughter has been involved in several shows with this company, and each time the experience gets worse. After this last one, we're officially done. Over the course of 3 months, there was no communication about schedule changes. Out of nowhere, they added the Wicked cast to a dance recital 30+ minutes away and told the kids they'd only get a medal if they attended. Families had to sit through 4+ hours just to watch their kid perform one song--and pay $18 per ticket for it. The new location is a joke. Construction is still incomplete. They should have finished the facility before running programs--not oversold camps and shows they clearly aren't equipped to handle just to fund their own build-out. The show itself was disappointing. Tattered curtains safety-pinned to windows, dollar store tablecloths on the wall, elementary-level paper trees, and a cardboard box as Oz. No microphones, no PA system, no choreography--just a boombox. Seating was folding chairs; I had to stand in the back just to see my daughter. The lack of professionalism and creativity did not go unnoticed. This felt more like a cash grab than a performance. These kids worked hard and deserved so much better. We won't be back--and I hope others think twice before signing up. read more

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience as well. My son wanted to try out for a play with his buddies, it was the first time for all of us. After the audition we all got an email that said "congratulations, your son was chosen to be in our play! He'll have a role in the chorus (background). Now please pay the fee of $250." There was no mention of any fee prior to this email. No verbal mention when we turned in our application, no written mention on the myriad forms we had to fill out, you get the picture. So I argued and protested, and stamped my foot and said it wasn't fair to spring that on us parents once the kids are so excited. But apparently I am the only parent ever in the history of DSD that has had that complaint. So my son didn't get to be in the play. read more

My daughter just started this year in the fall season in the ballet and tap class for 2.5-4 year olds and she had s blast her first class! She keeps telling me how she can't wait for dance class this week and the teacher Tricia is SO nice! The kids came out of class with a sticker and a sucker and my daughter couldn't be happier! I also like that they have certain days parents can observe so the kids aren't distracted during class, it helps them focus and actually memorize the steps! I can't for my daughters recital in June! read more

If you like attitude, arrogance and being treated poorly, this place is for you. The schedules change at the last minute and the child gets blamed for not knowing. Everything runs late but that's because the staff shows up late. Hidden fees. Lies about costume charges. Must buy from their clothing store only at huge markups. Must take a class to be trained to do hair and makeup. Insists on piercings or don't dance. Who cares what the parents want, it's piercings or else. Forget dancing for fun. Owner slams door in your face when trying to see your child. Avoid this place or you and your child will be scarred for life. read more

If I could give this place a 0 star rating I would! I did 2 Harry Potter plays here and they constantly played favorites. One of there favorites who isn't even good got 11 big parts, leaving other kids that were actually good with 1 very small part. To add on to that, they make the main parts all the same people throughout all 8 Harry Potter plays. THEY WILL LIE TO YOU!!! They trick you into signing up by saying you have a lot more parts then you really do and then after you pay ($250) and waste your money and time remembering all your lines and going to all the rehearsals they will take them away a day before the show. , ( 14, ) my director would always get sidetracked and then blame it on the children and yell at them with a megaphone. She would always shush us when talking with her favorites. On the flyer it says it is fine if you miss rehearsal but when you do, they cut your parts unless you are one of the favorites. ! . ! She lied to me and then blamed it on me. She and her daughter Kiera will call u out in front of . Also, I have heard from people that Debra agrusa is rude and only cares about herself. I danced here my whole life and enjoyed it. The bad reviews on this really surprised me, however I cannot speak for anyone else but myself. I danced her from age 4 until I graduated in 2006 and honestly couldn't have imagined dancing anywhere else. I loved all it had to teach me, including discipline, team work, confidence, and time management skills. I don't do anything with dance or theater now, but I did meet 3 of my best friend (bridesmaids) and wouldn't change a thing about my childhood. We did have to travel a lot, but I loved it! My children attend Deborah's Stage Door. We have been other places and this is by far the best place for our kids to be. Every educational opportunity is provided for the students from dance to theatre. Excellence in all they do is evident. There is a passion and energy in the classes and the building that is contagious. My kids love it, have learned so much and are having fun!! We would not go anywhere else! read more

Went to see grandchild in a play. Theater is small but nice, has tiered seating. Costuming good, props and scenery well done. Children well coached and did a good job knowing their lines and places. On opening night the large fan above was running and was finally turned off when people complained that they could not hear what was being said by the children. Turns out this was only a part of the audio issue. These are children's voices, they have not learned to project, usually are not facing the audience head on, and there weren't any microphones used. On the second afternoon I was sitting about midway in the second row and probably only understood 50% - 60% of what was said. Many people complained to each other about this problem. These are children and they really did a great job but it would have been more enjoyable for the audience if they could hear what was being said. Please address this problem! read more

Worst experience and place ever. Staff is awful. They take your money and treat you with disrespect. Save your money, time and energy. Go somewhere else. Horrible place. They over charge for everything. They charged $250 to $500 for one dance outfit that only cost $20 I found the exact costumes in a dance catalog and it was only $20. Most importantly your child is tormented and treated like shit. There is no schedule at all for dance teams. You are expected to be there every day and they will add in extra rehearsals at the last minute and if you can't make it your part will be cut. This place is a complete joke. They have to travel to other states like Ohio for competitions because of their reputation of not winning any dances. They reuse dances over and over. They are still dancing to la vida loco from 2 decades ago. Their teachers are not qualified and miserable. They are actually using other students for teachers because they can't hire anyone good because she doesn't pay anyone and they quit. There are so many other dance schools that are so much better than this hell hole. read more

Not very nice. We were told all parts were open but when we showed up for auditions we were the only ones and it was over super quick. On day one we paid to get into class then found out our part. They changed the performance dates and we decided we didn't want to be part of this. We sent emails and made phone calls and did not get responses. When someone finally did answer a call it was always 'I'll have to talk to someone who can make that decision' but never heard back. I went in and talked to them to get similar answers this time they did respond by email offering a partial refund. Emailed back with no response. Went back in today, the 'director' was there. I was told I didn't respond to the email (I did). I asked for a full refund and the 'director' jumped in to say no, they would only mail the partial and then threatened to call the police if I didn't leave their private property. Don't give them your money there are other programs that treat you better in the area. read more
