Thank you Dr. Barrick for giving me my quality of life back. It started with tingling in my fingers…read morethen into my arms then my shoulders and then my whole back. It kept me up all night, I would get 15 minutes sleep at best since before waking up. I went to Dr. Barrick on the advice of another neurosurgeon Dr. Oslewski from Misrecordia hospital in New Rochelle for a second opinion on surgery. The best thing I ever did. I decided to go with Dr. Barrick because of his knowledge and minimal invasive surgery. The other Dr. would've kept me in the hospital for a week then in internal rehab for two weeks. Dr. Barrick said I would be back home within two days, not true, I was home within 15 hours from the surgery. He came to my bedside before the surgery and after the surgery, he also took my wife aside which put her at ease. The follow ups were fantastic, he took his time, explained everything and when the insurance company wouldn't give me my bone stimulator he got involved by calling them personally three times. I got the bone stimulator. The numbness went away and I was sleeping again. Thank you very much Dr. Barrick, I HIGHLY recommend this Doctor.

The front desk reception is professional and organized. There's no waiting around for someone to…read morelook up and acknowledge you. You're checked in so quickly, you're not sure they're finished. There's a TV in the spacious waiting room. If you arrive early, for your appointment, there's an excellent chance you will be seen before your scheduled time, if the clinician isn't busy. They are an orthopedic facility; treating musculoskeletal conditions. Using minimally invasive procedures, before those that would involve P/T afterwards. Of course the Orthopedist will recommend what procedure is to be done, based on the patient's condition, diagnosis, test results and other factors. The staff is very conscientious in maintaining sanitary conditions and the patient's wellbeing. I feel very confident going to them. I have close to 20 years of clinical experience working in a large hospital in nyc and have seen a lot situations.

I was checked in quickly and then directed to the second floor; either by stairs or the elevator to the "Tan Waiting" area. I was there maybe a minute or two before a nurse came in and escorted me to one of the exam rooms. Saw the Dr. promptly. He explained the options available; surgery or physical therapy. P/T is the least invasive and would not have me incapacitated for a while. Seems like a viable option. The office staff set up everything I needed for the physical therapy. Walked in with my son, his diagnosis, and a full CD of X-rays in hand…read more Self-pay cost? $450. Fine. Waited 45 minutes. Doctor walks in.. no eye contact, no greeting, no bedside manner. Just rushed, irritated energy like we were wasting his time. He removed my son's splint, stuck a piece of gauze between his fingers, then fumbled with medical tape like he'd never used it before. Tape kept crumpling. My son actually asked, "Did this guy even go to college?" After a half-hearted tape job, we were shuffled out, but not before they made sure we scheduled a follow-up. The irony. We knew right then we'd never be back. Then came the bill: $350 "self pay" office visit (strange, I had to pay $450) $895 for "metacarpal fracture treatment" $595 for "finger fracture treatment" For some gauze and a few inches of tape. Next time I'll hand a roll of tape to the guy panhandling outside and probably get the same results for less. Absolute joke. Extremely disappointing.

In other words a 62 year old man is not capable of handling an opioid which, by the way has no known lasting side effects, but a steroid shot with it's many known very dangerous side effects could be given on the spot. Maybe because a a steroid shot which he could charge my health plan for 700+ dollars seemed like a better "investment" for his la-de-da office practice than an age old innocuous prescription for a painkiller.
