I have lots to say for this review!…read more We had an ice maker leak in February that caused some damage to our kitchen and adjoining rooms. We originally decided to go with the network that worked with the company that helped us with the leak. It was going well and we got what we needed from insurance but for the rebuilding side of the project we didn't feel like we were much of a priority so towards the end of September, we reached out to Monica because two of our neighbors used her and were super happy. Monica came out right away and during our first meeting, I just knew that I wanted to work with her due to her creativity and professionalism. Once we pulled the trigger and hired Monica (we had to get out of our contract with the first company so that took some time), she started right away. We went and picked out all of the pieces for the remodel together. She listened to our thoughts and incorporated them into her designs for us. We had our entire downstairs redone. All new floors, new paint on all of the visible walls downstairs (went upstairs too), new baseboards, new sink and fixtures, we extended our counter to allow for open seating, refaced kitchen cabinets with new features that I wanted to add. We redid our guest bathroom as well. Refaced cabinets, lights, mirrors new paint and fixtures. Our family room got a fireplace make over too. I also have new light fixtures and chandeliers throughout our downstairs that her electrician installed for us. He also replaced and added sockets for us in the kitchen. I'm sure there is more that we did, but I'm drawing a blank. I'll add! But long story longer, it's November 17th and just a couple more little tweaks and we will be done and this only because we keep adding stuff to do because we love how things are coming along! First, I take full responsibility for not doing my due diligence, overlooking a very similar horrible review from a neighbor, and choosing to proceed with them while also paying upfront in an effort to support a small business. As a Black homeowner in a community that is not very diverse, I have received multiple letters from my HOA and potential fines as my yard has gone uncomplete for almost a year. This company has received all payments as of 12/22/2022 for completion of this project and it is now May 1st and the job is nowhere near done. They've made engineering mistakes on top of an egregious lack of proactivity where they refuse to do the work they can actually complete. My house is in complete disarray and it's clear that this is NOT a reputable business and you should take heed to this review. I even referred them more business and they had the audacity to have more of that project done than my own. Closing in on one year of working with them, I have never seen a project plan, had any documentation of milestones or deliverables, or anything that would lead you to believe this is a fully operational business. The only PDF I have ever received was a digital invoice to request money. I have given them 155K to date and even with sending a demand letter from my lawyer for simple deliverables and a timeline, it was never sent. I am gearing up to formally file a lawsuit against both Dream to Design and Eden Construction with Lessington Law for misappropriation of funds and a failure to complete services within a reasonable timeline. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM praying on minorities like myself going door to door to solicit business and not actually doing the work that was paid for. James and Doug never have answers, they're always "trying" to see, and yet they didn't "try" when it came to asking for payment for services not yet rendered. I am writing this review now as I have lost all faith that this will be completed. I had intentions of waiting until the work was completed before sharing my experience, but it has become abundantly clear that that day may never come. Do yourself a favor and go with anybody else but this company. I am a busy man with multiple businesses and had to take time out of my day to write this, trust me, you don't want to deal with this headache. I'll update this when the lawsuit is completed and share what the judge has ordered. I have every documentation outlining this experience and happy to share it with anyone.
