Came here with a big group (12) for a team lunch based on recommendations from colleagues. Deccan Bawarchi is the best Indian buffet I've had in Michigan! Great veggie options, fantastic chicken and lamb dishes, a great dessert table. Orange drink and water on tap. Fresh naan. We asked for chicken and veggie biryani to be on the buffet ahead of time (since we were a table of 12) and they obliged. Everyone ranted and raved about the tandoori chicken, the biryani, and the lamb - and our veggie friends loved the onion and aloo tikka masala. If you aren't regularly accustomed to Indian food, I'd be careful. This buffet is perfect for me - but for people who aren't used to spice, it's a bit on the spicy side. I love that it isn't a buffet full of bland food, but some of our party who are scared of spice found that much of the food was a bit too spicy for them. I went there because of the reviews, I got a whole different experience. 1 no service at all , I even asked and was pushed off 2 buffet was not updated , stirred or refilled ( naan was stale) 3 many items not labeled, I would usually ask But no one up front. 4 food was marginal tasting 5 did not see anyone until it was time to leave Now the big picture , the health inspectors were there and had them tied up , but not all of them, I am also not saying it was dirty it was not it was very clean from what I saw including the rest rooms. My wife, two kids, and I visited this restaurant over the weekend for their buffet, hoping to enjoy a pleasant family meal and support a local small business. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing due to poor customer service. When we arrived, there were only about 25-30 customers in the restaurant, and we were among the early guests. However, several buffet dishes were already empty and the staff appeared to be struggling to refill them. We are a family of four, but we were given a table set for only three people. Even though there was an available chair near the cash counter and few scattered here and there, but no one offered it to us. I waited standing for about 15-20 minutes hoping the host would bring a chair, but that never happened while the host was watching me stand all through. When I tried get an available chair, he said it was already taken. During this time, my wife and kids had just started eating while I was still waiting for a place to sit. Eventually the situation became uncomfortable for our family, and they suggested we leave rather than continue the meal with me standing there. Another incident that stood out was when I asked the host at the counter for a paper napkin. Instead of simply handing it to me which was right at the cash counter, the host walked to the cutlery area and made me follow him there to pick it up myself. Since my wife and kids had already started eating when we decided to leave, we ended up paying for three buffet plates but walked out without actually finishing our meal. Because of this, I cannot fairly comment on the quality of the food since we did not get the opportunity to properly eat. The restaurant industry is built on a customer-first mindset, and basic courtesy toward guests, especially families with children should be a given. Being located in the heart of Northville/ Livonia, MI, surrounded by many well-established restaurants that not only serve great food but also prioritize exceptional hospitality, customer service should be a top priority to remain competitive and earn the trust of the community. We chose this restaurant because we wanted to support a local establishment, but the lack of basic hospitality made the experience very disappointing. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the way customers are treated so future guests have a better experience. Tried a new place (to us, at least) off of DoorDash tonight. My fiance and I chose this place because they were offering $5 off (20% off your order, up to $5) and also they had Gobi 65, a fried cauliflower dish he likes. Disappointingly, they gave us chili paneer instead of the Gobi 65, although I actually ended up liking it a lot even though it was super spicy and I can't do spice. We ordered butter chicken, which was fine but I've had better; chicken korma, which was a bit spicy for me and neither of us liked; garlic naan, which was huge and nice and fluffy; and two mango lassi. The lassi was smaller than other places I've been to. Prices were on par with other places in the area, perhaps even a little cheaper. I'd order from here again but would probably pursue other places first. I'm not sure when this actually opened AKA why they're not on Yelp yet but they have a lot of Google reviews and the oldest I saw was 7 months old. My guess is that they probably have been open earlier than that though. read more

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL! DO NOT BELIEVE THE 4.5-STAR RATING! ​This has to be one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I ordered a mild Chicken 65 Biryani to-go and everything was a complete disaster. ​I went in to pick up my order and was completely ignored for a full 10 minutes. The staff was too busy on their phones to even bother asking why I was there. When someone finally got around to me, they had not prepared my order and said that they dont have my order. I showed them the receipt the they to make my food, but it's clear they just gave me someone else's, because when I got home, the "mild" biryani was so spicy it was totally inedible. ​So I called, and they told me to come back anytime for a new order. I went back the SAME NIGHT, hoping to just get the food I actually ordered, but the nightmare continued. Again, no one acknowledged me. The host, the guy in the kitchen, and another guy were all on their phones, completely ignoring customers and just being busy with themselves. It was unbelievable. To make things even worse, I watched them eating with their bare hands and licking their fingers right in the middle of the kitchen. I can only HOPE they washed their hands afterwards. Disgusting. ​After all that waiting and frustration, when I finally got my food. They gave me just the Chicken 65--NO BIRYANI. They didn't even have the decency to tell me they were out when I called them earlier. I've attached a picture to show what a complete joke this was. ​This place is a joke. The food looked so great that I forgot to take a picture. The chicken tikka masala with medium spice absolutely delivered with all great notes. I will definitely be back for this! Not to mention the garlic naan was absolutely delicious to pair with the tikka masala. Service was great, directing us to a seat that was cooler in temperature on today's hot day. We ordered Chicken 65 (mild), but it was extremely spicy--so much that I couldn't even finish a single bite. I eat hot peppers daily, and this was still overwhelmingly spicy. My husband went back to get it corrected, but instead of fixing the order, they gave us plain rice with just a small amount of Chicken 65. The service was very disappointing--wasted time, money, and effort. After nearly two hours of hassle over food we paid for, I didn't even feel like eating anymore. But..we stuck it out...only beverage choice was a plastic bottle of water (no glasses), long wait to have our order taken--they didn't have my first 5 choices of vegetarian entrees from the menu and the "waiter" kept pushing "Chicken Tikka" which my husband ordered. I finally picked a vegetarian dish that they had. We also ordered Garlic Naan. After waiting maybe 45 minutes with no food in sight, my husband went up to the counter to ask for our naan to stop our growling stomachs... there was an order waiting with the Chicken dish and the naan, so he brought it back to the table. My dish was missing. "Waiter" came to table to ask what I'd ordered and I told him I didn't remember but I'd take whatever veggie dish they had that night. More time went by, we shared the chicken dish (on plastic plates), and my veggie dish was forever missing in action. When we asked for napkins, a box of Kleenex was plopped onto the table. We left hungry. The phones were ringing and ringing and seldom answered. As far as ambiance, the table next to us had a group with an infant who screamed at a high pitch pretty much the two hours we were there with parents paying little attention to him. Here's my tip: when you walk into a restaurant and it's pretty clear it's chaos -- leave! Restaurants get slammed when staff doesn't show up...The Chicken Tikka was okay--maybe a C plus or a B minus...small serving--especially when shared. read more

I found this place by mistake thinking it was an Indian restaurant I had ordered from on DoorDash! What a lucky mistake! The food here is absolutely delicious and tops my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. We ordered Butter Chicken mild and the mixed Tandoori grill with chicken and shrimp. It was about medium spice. We split both our meals and they were so good we had no leftovers. They offered us free pineapple and mango juices with our bottled water which was a nice surprise. Apparently they have buffets from 12pm to 2pm weekdays and 12pm to 3pm on weekends. I definitely want to go back to try the different dishes. The restaurant itself is very new on the inside and there is only one waiter but hardly anyone dining in while we were there. Lots of carry out orders though! THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. Definitely one of my top restaurants for Indian cuisine. They definitely know the assignment! I believe you can choose any curry, with any meat (chicken,lamb or goat) and then you choose the spice level, low/medium/hot. We started with the Veggie Samosas as a little app and I highly recommend. Garlic naan was amazing as well. I got a special Mutton Soup and that was delicious! For the main dishes we got the butter chicken curry and goat tikka masala, both medium spice, It was amazing.. I'm making this review the morning after and I wish I had leftovers!! The customer service was on point as well, respectful and swift. Food took a bit to come out but it's worth the wait because you know they were making everything fresh. I was craving "ghar ki" biryani and this restaurant hit the spot. We had the Hyderabadi mutton dum biryani and the mutton was well cooked, well spiced, and tender. We also had butter naan and chili chicken which were also excellent. The food was fresh and came out quickly and despite living 30 min away, we are already planning our next visit. A quick shoutout to our server Qadeer, who provided warm, friendly, and prompt service. I appreciated him asking whether we wanted all of our food at once or staggered. read more
