Nihari is a slow cooked beef shank stew that's cooked for 6 hours which makes it so soft it pulls apart, but the best part is the gravy which goes perfectly with some garlic naan or even regular naan because it soaks up all the flavor from the gravy. My second favorite dish I've had here is the highway chicken karhai. The reason why the highways in Pakistan are so famous for having some of the best food is because people in Pakistan believe that truck drivers in Pakistan should have the best food due to their very long journeys along the highway. Therefore the highway chicken karhai here is an absolutely kicker of a dish packed with robust flavor and it's cooked in a wok which is the most traditional way to enjoy karhai. It goes really well with a tawa paratha which is a traditional fried bread on a pan or a puri which is a deep fried soft bread. If you're not sure what to try the first time they also have a buffet on Saturday and Sunday where they have a variety of dishes you can try. This also includes Payas (goat heel curry) which is a Pakistani delicacy and goes great with naan. When you walk in you'll see lots of small traditional items and artwork that are a huge part of the Pakistani culture like the rickshaws and paintings on the wall of some of the most iconic places in Pakistan like the tomb of Jinnah who is the founder of Pakistan. Overall, as a person who's from that part of the world I'd say this place definitely takes me back to my childhood! I will be visiting more often!

We ordered gobi manchurian, channa masala, dosa, butter chicken and navratan korma. The front counter staff took our order, didn't need to write it down at all. Once again he came back to check the order after he put it into the computer and had ro check again to make sure we didn't want any rice or naan at all. The gobi is decently crispy, it's quite flavorful and spicy too. The dosa here is super long, nicely thin, super crispy, but a bit greasy. It's all good, crispy is better for me. The butter chicken is quire good, lots of chicken in the dish. The sauce is quite yummy. The navratan korma was disappointing. Not loving the stalks over broccoli in it, that's usually the part I leave behind. Not a lot of veggies as a whole. The Chana masala is okay, also not fond of the flavors too much. They do charge for credit card use and before the subtotal too, not cool with this process much. The waiter told me there is no CC charge if I pay with cash as he handed me our dinner bill. They use Square and there's a 3.5% charge from Square, but they told us they charge 4% for the use of a CC. Unreal. Poorly done. The posting we noticed as we left was on the plexi glass at the front counter, that we didn't see when we entered since there was a water bottle in the way and there was a guy at the front counter when we first walked in getting carry out.

While glancing at the menu, I noticed entire pages dedicated to dosas, biriyanis, and Indo-Chinese dishes. In hindsight, we probably should've gotten at least one dish from each section, but we weren't really in the mood for dosas or the Indo-Chinese entrees at the time. GARLIC NAAN - 3.49 The garlic naan is a must-order. Each order comes with four quarter pieces, and I honestly could've eaten the entire basket myself. It's topped with plenty of minced garlic and is flavorful enough to enjoy on its own. PANEER TIKKA MASALA - 14.99 The tikka masala leaned heavily on the creamy side and was much less tomato-forward than I prefer -- savory with very little tomato sweetness. There were a few small pieces of tomato, onion, and possibly peppers, along with the paneer. While the paneer was good, there weren't many pieces overall. I enjoyed the dish, but I would've preferred a more tomato-based curry. VIJAYAWADA CHICKEN BIRYANI - 15.99 Highly recommended by our trusted source and echoed by multiple Yelp reviews, this was easily the star of our meal. The rice was fragrant and packed with aromatics, and the chicken was cut very small, almost minced. It was incredibly flavorful and unapologetically spiced, unlike many Indian restaurants in the area that tone things down for the American palette. This biryani did not hold back. While I generally prefer bite-sized chicken for the texture, I can see how the finely chopped chicken absorbs the spice better and distributes the flavor more evenly throughout the rice. That said, I do wish there had been more chicken overall so every bite included some. GOAT KORMA - 17.99 This was a pretty standard, nutty, creamy korma. Unfortunately, most of the goat pieces were very bony, with some pieces being straight up bone. I felt a bit cheated since this is a pricier entree. My friend has a much higher spice tolerance palette than his wife and me, so I only had a few bites before returning to milder dishes. Overall, this is probably the most spice-forward Indian restaurant I've been to in this area, and it genuinely felt like all of my taste buds were waking up with every bite. I highly recommend the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani, especially if you've never had it before, as it's not something I see often at Indian restaurants. The flavors are phenomenal, and next time I'll be back for a lassi, a dosa, and one of their Indo-Chinese dishes.
