My fiance loves this dish but it was a bit spicy for me. Very tasty though. -Butter chicken. Came rather mild and was good. -Chicken Tikka masala. This was more of a medium spice for me. -Paneer Kadai. This comes spicy, it was delicious but I only had one bite because of it. -Garlic naan. Lots of garlic! Delicious. -Sweet lassi. Best mango lassi in metro Detroit hands down. Perfect ratio of mango and yogurt and it's the perfect sweetness. As you can see I have nearly finished it before even taking the picture bc it's so yummy. Almost went to "sweet timez" next to it and I'm so glad I didn't as I've had it from there before and it was just 'okay' cuz my purpose was just to get a drink so at first I thought it would be better to go there. I'll go out on a limb and say one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been too. There isn't a dish that isn't a hit. Everything tastes so authentic and full of flavor. And the icing on top is the wonderful staff and owners, who are nothing short of amazing people! The restaurant has ample space if you're looking to dine in, and it really has that nostalgic Indian restaurant vibe to it. I can't speak highly enough of Namaste in Farmington. Carry out only as of May 2021. Interior it seems was updated of late. It's a mix of color, texture and materials, it's a bit overwhelming and not my taste. We ordered the chili chicken, Chana masala, navratan korma, dal makhani and plain dosa too. $50.83 for our total. Food order takes 35-40 minutes to prepare. They are busy with carry out orders. Food was ready after 50 minutes later. The phone is going off the hook. I take it back, they don't require masks as there's a guy at the end of the booths and he's not wearing a mask, just because he's seated, but not eating at all and was socializing with someone that works here. Hmm. There was bit of a mix-up with my receipt as it was more than $10 than what I was told it would cost and the receipt had foods I hadn't ordered at all. The manager or owner straightened up the mix-up and gave me the correct recipe. The chili chicken was my favorite of the 4 items. The korma and dal tadka were not my favorite. These lovely enterprising gentlemen charge $2 for ONE parata that they buy from Costco (20 for $8). The "lamb" biryani has bones!!! The samosas that are shown 4 per container in the picture when you order online are actually just 2. I asked for the food to be as mild as possible, they couldn't help but throw a few extra peppers in there. I don't care, I like spicy, but I wanted my kids to try it too. And on top of all of it, they're not even friendly in store lol! I've been going here for 8 years (when Aahar is closed). And this was the last time. Mind you, I left 15% tip for carry out. We have eaten here for several years. It has evolved quite a bit from styrofoam plates and very basic seating. It is a little too spicy for our aging palates and now we come mostly for dosas, which are some of the best around. Last time we were there, robots delivered food to the tables. read more

I tried Namaste Flavours in Canton because that's the closest Indian place around. The credit card machine wasn't working so they asked if someone could bring me cash to pay for the food, Red flag #1. Then once I said no they ran my card no problem. Once I got the food home the butter chicken it was tough and unflavored, red flag #2. I can't believe Indian food one of the most flavored foods in the world, had little taste. This is hands down the best Indian I have ever had. The lunch buffet is where it's at. Namaste is a no thrills, cafeteria like experience. The butter chicken and paneer masala are amazing. I usually get two plates worth on the classic styrofoam plates and bowls. The desserts are also top notch. I'm not exactly sure what I'm eating on my weekly visits, but it is damn good each time. I am not a big fan of buffets, especially Indian ones, not because of the food it's the fact that usually they dial down the heat level. Namaste has spicy items on the buffet and a wide variety of mains, sides and breads. Many I've never tried ( or seen) before. I've been here many times and and I've never been disappointed. The customers are primarily South Asian which Explains why the food is more varied. As a westerner I take it as a good sign that I'm in the right place. Don't let the sparse decor and styrofoam and plastic dinnerware at the buffet scare you off. I've never been here on a weekend afternoon when it wasn't busy so the food is fresh and flavorful I especially enjoy the Chicken Fry with loads of hot peppers, the Lamb Biryani, and the Saag with eggs. You will be eating with styrofoam plates, using plastic utensils, drinking out of styrofoam cups, & you will love every bit of it! The food options vary every day, but you can usually expect the basics like chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, curry dishes, biryani rice, and tons of naan. We've been coming here for years, to their lunch buffet. Usually pretty good, but some days better than others. Since Covid we've come in to eat off the menu. We love their Baingan Bartha eggplant dish. it is just wonderful. Get it every time. Last time we tried Paneer Tikka Masala, which we enjoyed even more!!! We are hooked!! This place used to offer a lot. Not sure what happened. We went to buffet and barely ate few stuff and we both felt full. This is not the first time. Lately this is happening a lot. My friend usually has great appetite for food. He barely ate. They must be adding something to food that will make you feel full much before you finish. I know back in India restaurants do this kind of stuff so you will eat less and pay the same. Imagine how useful this is for them for buffets. Do not judge a book by its cover - I think that should be Namaste Flavours motto. :) For as long as I've lived here, Namaste Flavours has been on my list to try. Some friends raved about it, and others despised it. Since we are fans of Indian food, we just had to try it for ourselves, and 2015 was the year! lol We came on a Thursday dinner time, and went in with absolutely no expectations. I knew that the place would be no frills. However, once we stepped in, it really reminded us of Indian restaurants out in NJ. Grab your own utensils, fill your own water, bus your own tables, and sit down and enjoy some delicious Northern Indian food! We ended up deciding on the palak paneer, butter chicken, lamb biryani, and 2 pieces of naan (1 garlic, 1 plain). FYI - naan here is a la carte, so don't expect it to come free with your meal. The biryani was our favorite, because it was super fragrant, and had an intense cardamom flavor. Delicious, and the portion was monstrous. Butter chicken had intense heat, and the tomato base was thick and hearty. Definitely mention to the wait staff if spice levels are not your thing. We were happy with it, but believe me, we had runny noses by the end of the meal! :) Palak Paneer was good, but the consistency was a bit runny. It still had great flavor, but the texture wasn't something I was used to. I'd still order it again though. The cubes of cheese were spongey and springy; just the way we like them. Naan was good, but the garlic one was definitely the star of the two. For us two, two pieces were plenty because they are larger than the average ones you get at Indian restaurants. The portions, as I had mentioned before, were monstrous. It didn't even look like we ate anything, but we were stuffed! Leftovers were spread over 3 days, and the flavors just improved with time. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! I do not know if whether or not it is THE BEST Indian restaurant, because this is the only one I have ever been to, but it is simply amazing. The husband and I have tried the lunch buffet (and as some yelpers have suggested.. come early!), sit down dine in option, and carry out. The sit down options are of what others have commented on already: it is self-serve, a bit awkward, and sometimes dirty.. but the end result is the most delectable, yummiest food to ever come by. The carry-out option is absolutely horrible! We have always had an hour wait time for pick up. Although the food tastes the same as if we were dining in, waiting an hour while being immersed in the one of a kind Indian herbs and spices is a tease. Tip is not expected, and I think we have become regulars! The girl with the three phones in her hand knows that we like ours traditional (spicy) and she even tells the kitchen to rush our order (I wonder if this is because of the "tip" we always give her? My husband and I love Indian food, so we've been trying out all the places around town to figure out which is our favorite. This one is in the top 3, if not at the top. We ordered samosa, great flavor and not too spicy, Veggie pakora which was delicious and came in abundance, a whole carry out container full! Chicken Korma, pretty good with flavor and spice level, I like mine a bit more creamy which I haven't found in a lot of Indian restaurants in this area. Butter chicken and Chicken tikka Marsala were both good, but tasted very similar. Garlic naan was delicious and has a nice grilled flavor and both chutneys tasted so fresh.
