    Hyderabadi Dum biryani

The ambiance was classy and dimly lit with a lounge feel. The service was efficient and attentive in clearing plates and serving water. The hot and sour soup was tasty and spicy. The chicken lollipops were tasty as well. The mocktail mojito was refreshing. The Angaarey paneer was presented with a fire show but the taste was not memorable. The main course items including the Amritsari chicken tikka and the Hyderabadi Dum goat biryani seemed to be lacking some spice and flavor as well. Very pricey and automatic gratuity included but luckily for me it was a business dinner.

Slightly above average Indian food in a very saturated market. The thing that sets this place apart is the sophisticated decor. To put it simply, this place has slightly above average Indian food at extravagant prices. I mean $16 for a mocktail and $25 for vegetable biryani? The portion sizes are not massive either and barely average at best, so just be aware of that. This place will definitely do well due to the insta crowd.

Great food and even better service! The interior decor is lovely and very clean. Huge shoutout to Hemal for the top-tier service; he even served the food onto our plates. The Goat Biryani was perfectly tender and the garlic naan was fresh and fluffy. The mango lassis were a bit of a miss (too thick/bland), but the main courses and the Tikka Masala were excellent. We'll be back!

I was visiting from San Diego and had heard that New Jersey offers some of the best Indian food in the country. Naturally, I was excited to try it out. We ordered the Chicken Lollipop, Lucknowi Chicken Seekh Kebab, and Vijayawada Chicken Biryani. Unfortunately, the experience was pretty terrible. The Chicken Lollipop was raw on the inside the first time. We flagged it to the server, who was courteous and replaced it promptly. However, even the second serving felt underdone and off in texture. Next came the Lucknowi Chicken Seekh Kebab, and this was hands down the highlight of the meal. Perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and packed with amazing flavors - it was absolutely delicious. Finally, we tried the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani, which was a big letdown. It was missing the distinct flavor you'd expect from a good biryani. The chicken was chewy and tasted more like leftovers mixed with rice than a freshly prepared dish. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but for the prices they're charging, the overall quality needs serious improvement. The Seekh Kebab was excellent, but everything else fell short of expectations.

Girls' night out just got better! We had so much fun at @DeccanSpice for our girlfriends' dinner date--great vibes, amazing food, and unforgettable moments! We kicked things off with a welcome drink and some fancy cocktails from their full bar. Plus, a robot served us our food, adding a fun twist to the night! Every dish we tried was a hit, and these are highly recommended: * Angaarey Paneer (fiery and full of flavor!) * Chandni Chowk Paneer Tikka * Schezwan Lotus Root * Lucknowi Chicken Seekh Kabab * Kerala Crab Cakes * Salmon Tawa * Paneer Khurchan (creamy and absolutely delicious!) * Jackfruit Biryani (full of flavors and one of the best biryanis I've had in NJ!) To top it all off, the Double Ka Meetha Flambée was a dessert to remember! Don't forget to try their weekend-exclusive Maharaja Thali--it's a royal feast! @toast_to_taste rating of DeccanSpice: Cuisine - Indian (Fine Dining) Food & Drinks - 4.5/5 Ambience - 4.5/5 Service - 4.5/5 Price - $$ Overall Rating - 1/2 Perfect for a girls' dinner date or any special occasion! Food was 5/5 but the service here was questionable. They were quite excessive with checking in with our table and kept trying to take our plates away when we were clearly still eating. It wasn't even that busy so idk why we were so rushed. In terms of the food and drinks, everything was delicious. First started off with some drinks and all of us were super impressed. I absolutely loved my lychee mocktail - it was soooo tasty with a very strong lychee flavor that tasted like the actual fruit and not some artificial syrup. Got the angaarey paneer and chicken lollipops as our appetizer and they were both amazing. Loved the live fire that came with the paneer. For our meal, we ordered the daal makhani, Bombay fish masala and railway curry with some rice, garlic naan, fried papad and raita. Family styled everything among 4 people and it was the perfect amount of food. Every single dish was incredibly rich and flavorful. We also got the double ka meetha flambee and some sort of ice cream for dessert. They were good but very overpriced for the quality and portion imo.

So this place was recommended to me by a friend we got the - Garlic naan, Malai kofta, Paneer makhani and Rice. Food was great, servings were great and overall vibe was good the only thing I can say was the service was a little on the slower side but nothing crazy. Once you sit down they give you napkins to wipe your hands with as well as a shots worth of a juice. It tasted sorta like fruit juice, I believe it was almost a mouth cleanser. The waiter was nice and if I'm in the area again I will come back!

We went to this restaurant recently and had an interesting experience. The drinks were very expensive (about $18 per drink even for mocktails), and the food itself was decent, but it was more so the service that I'm knocking down a star. There was a table of (maybe, not sure) influencers next to us, and the manager kept going over there to talk to them and hang out with them, giving them top notch service. They were ordering the big showcase items and definitely were loud and making lots of content. No hate there, but not another table received even a speck of attention from the management/staff. The manager I don't think came over once to us or any other table, would just look at our plates and move to the table next to us. Our food also took some time coming out, and we had not ordered many dishes. Overall, I was more so disappointed in the service rather than the food. I've heard a lot of great things about the restaurant so I think we just came on an off night (because of the table next to us), which is extremely disappointing, but I wouldn't mind coming back and modifying my review if the next experience is better. I think for the price of the food, management really needs to focus more on their service. Not just the content creators matter- any paying guest should be treated equally. Pros: lotus Manchurian is delicious, mocktails tasty, the little robot server is cool Con's: staff does not pay attention as most work is relying upon the robot, pretty expensive for certain items

I actually had to ask questions just to find out there was a regular brunch menu available. The drinks were honestly a bit absurd, ranging from $17 to $28. On top of that, the music was so loud that we could barely hear our waitress, which took away from the experience. The food itself was good, but nothing really stood out as amazing. Everything was just... good. I also mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday, but somehow everyone around us received a big birthday celebration, while we didn't. When I ordered dessert, I even had to ask for a candle because it wasn't offered, which was a little disappointing considering what we saw happening at other tables.I originally found this place on TikTok and wanted to see if the vibe matched what I saw online, but honestly, it didn't hit the same for me. A Steakhouse With History, Character & One Seriously Good Steak!…read more We recently visited Strickland's Steakhouse in Woodbridge, and now I completely understand why this place has earned accolades in both 2024 and 2025! From the moment you walk in, it's clear this isn't your typical steakhouse. Strickland's is located inside the former Woodbridge National Bank, and the restaurant has done an amazing job preserving that old-bank feel while turning it into a sophisticated dining experience. The décor is fantastic, with plenty of memorabilia and nods to the building's past--including some fun pieces highlighting the era of old-time bank robbers. There's something interesting to look at everywhere you turn. The main level features a full bar with plenty of seating, including booths if you prefer a more casual dining experience. But make your way upstairs because the second level is something special. There's plenty of room for larger gatherings, while still having an intimate feel that would be perfect for a date night or special dinner. Let's Talk About the Bread Service! We started with the Bread Service, and honestly, had I known what was involved, I would have taken a video! This is more than just someone dropping a basket of bread on your table. The server actually prepares and smokes the specialty house butter right at your table. Talk about dinner and a show! You can customize the butter with different ingredients, including brown butter, bourbon, and sea salt. The presentation alone makes this worth trying, but the butter was also absolutely delicious. The Star of the Show For our entrée, we went with the Elite Prime Dry-Aged Filet Mignon, an incredibly tender 8-ounce cut served with truffle shiitake butter. WOW. The filet was cooked beautifully and incredibly flavorful, and that truffle shiitake butter took it to another level. Tender, rich, and absolutely mouthwatering. This is the kind of steak you take your time eating because you don't want it to end! Sides We ordered two sides to share: Bourbon-Glazed Brussels Sprouts -- with diced bacon and Parmesan. The bourbon glaze added a nice touch of sweetness, while the bacon and Parmesan brought plenty of savory flavor. Creamed Corn -- with crispy chorizo, chives, and panko. Creamy, flavorful, and definitely not your ordinary creamed corn. The crispy chorizo added a fantastic little kick and texture. Dessert Of course, we had to save room for dessert! We finished with the House Bread Pudding, served warm and topped with ice cream. Warm bread pudding + cold ice cream is a combination that never disappoints. It was the perfect way to end an already fantastic dinner. Shout-Out to Henrique! A big Kudos to our server, Henrique! He was fantastic from beginning to end--super friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were spot-on, and the way he described each dish made you want to order practically everything on the menu! Great service can make an excellent meal even better, and Henrique definitely helped make our experience memorable. Final Thoughts Strickland's Steakhouse is more than just a place to grab a steak. The historic setting, unique décor, creative presentations, quality food, and excellent service all come together to make this a really fun dining experience. Whether you're looking for a great date-night destination, a place to celebrate a special occasion, or somewhere to meet up with friends, Strickland's is definitely worth checking out. And now I understand those accolades from 2024 and 2025--they're well deserved! Great steak. Great atmosphere. Great presentation. Great service. Highly recommend Strickland's Steakhouse if you're in the Woodbridge area!
