The initial start date got pushed back after about 2-3 times either because of injuries or other unknown factors. I even recommended to start next season when he can finalize dates but he insisted he can start soon. I gave him the go ahead and he finally started. However, a 5-10 day job took about 2 months because he didn't show up or had problems with his sub-contractors. At one time a sub-contractor quit on the spot and asked us directly for payment. I had to contact Jon to rectify the problem. After about 2 months, he sent an invoice for last payment. The job still wasn't even done. Then about a week after later he came to finish and wanted payment immediately. I told him I would like to do an inspection before signing off and issue a final payment. When I told him this, we got into an argument. He mentioned contracts and and threatened me with lawyers, etc. First of all, the contract was pretty much void since he didn't even start the date the contract stated. Out of a week he could show up maybe 1-3 days and made promises to come which he couldn't keep. He mentioned that he didn't need to let us know when he shows up because I guess to him he shows up when he wants? Overall, work was decent but dealing with him was painful and hopefully other people don't go what I went through.

It's too bad, too, because they were our first choice. Not anymore.
