What was once a dilapidated gun store and range (National) has a new name, a new look, and all new personnel. The store has a fair amount of inventory and is growing. With most of the brand names you would expect to see. FN, SIG, S&W Etc... The range portion has about 20ish rifles and hand guns for rent. They even have a full auto M4 to rent. Only drawback to that, you must buy the 5.56 ammo from them. That gets expensive quickly. Military shoots 1/2 price everyday and normal range fee is only $20. I was unfamiliar with shooting a shotgun and Roger really took the time to show me how to be safe on the range, the parts of my gun, how to load and unload, how to aim, and how to grip the barrel to reduce kick. He stayed right with us until I felt really confident. When we finished, he took time again to look at my companion's rare gun and look up information about it. Our regular range was very busy in fact packed with customers for range time and gun purchases. So we decided to try Declaration Defense which has high ratings. Maybe this was just a bad day to go there. One star for being modern and One star for being clean. One star for being polite. We left after 30 minutes. The one person who could take our money was trying to sell their only customer a rifle. After 10 minutes I asked him if he could help and he took us to a waiver machine that had some bugs but we got it done. After another 15 minutes a nice young lady came and asked us questions and when we said it was time to move forward she got lost. 4/23/2023 : Went in to use their range and I used my own targets that are about 8x8" the range instructor (Brandon) came in yelling at me for folding their shot up and worn out cardboard target holders while saying my targets are too small when I was already 100 rounds in without causing any damage to their precious equipment. Straight up forcing me to buy one of their cruddy paper targets that don't show where you hit as well as mine. This whole situation kinda just killed my vibe in coming into this establishment. There's people rapid fire ego shooting with their semi auto ARs right next to me knocking my aim off the entire time. I would never use this place to practice my shooting skills again. It's above average in cleanliness but that's because they barely have anything except the range anyways so I'm kinda just turned off from the whole situation. Also no safety officer in the range at all times. Also not cool when you target me out when my brother-in-law, who is over 6' tall and towers over you, you don't say a word to them at all because I'm an easier target to yell at... doesn't surprise me that you chew me out when your ego could be at stake, pretty pathetic dude. I went and bought a gun a small gun at this place of business which I've never owned a gun before and there's a waiting period so my mom found out that I was getting a gun and she freaked out there'd be no gun emphatically upset. . I just called the next day as he had this gun and said it was a mistake please just refund me I don't want it. The manager Patrick' Holbrook said no problem will give you a refund , never gave the refund then I walked in with my card the card that I purchased off my digital wallet online and he continues to refuse to give me the refund. He was a first class jerk as I was there with my card then told me no to get off His property of business. It is $181.00 he refuses to refund as he keeps his merchandise and resells it.
