We love this escape room! It is our Thanksgiving tradition now, when my sister's family comes to town. Last year, we did Minerva 1 & 2, this year we did Minerva 3. Everyone there is really enthusiastic, the puzzles are challenging and fun. It is perfect for our group of four adults and four teenagers. We didn't quite finish Minerva 1, but this year we conquered Minerva 3 in 58 minutes! It was great-- highly recommend! read more

My husband and I are escape enthusiasts and DECODE DETROIT is legit. We've played over 128 escape games so far, and they're on our top 25 favorite games. We definitely vouch for how awesome they are! Super high tech and great puzzles we'd never seen before despite having played 128 games so far. We played both Minerva I and III, back to back, with a group of 4 total. It was the perfect # of people for our group, and we passed both - Minerva I at 55 minutes, and Minerva III at 47 minutes. They usually allow private room bookings at 6 people, but on the Sunday evening that we played, it wasn't busy so we were able to score a private game (much preferred), but the game will still be fun with others. The experience is super immersive and Minerva II is a free game that you're able to complete outdoors (instructions on website). It'll all make sense once you learn the story. The way the rooms are designed is so clever and the experience is really immersive. Super excited that they're opening up two more locations in the area. I would gladly fly from California to Michigan (not my favorite state) just to play! I've played at another place in Michigan that sucked so don't waste your time or money anywhere else. We came here for my girlfriend's birthday and had a fantastic time. The staff was so friendly, engaged, and extremely accommodating. We came with a group of 5 and I was the only one with any escape room experience. However, we still managed to escape with 5 seconds left! The puzzles were very fair and linear. We came with a family group including a 7 year old and it was fun for everyone. We came close to solving the puzzle in the predetermined timelimit with the help of Minerva. It was not too hard but challenging and all of us enjoyed the experience. Staff was very friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend. read more

Extremely well done with the futuristic theme. Intense and felt so real. The game master was phenomenal with his role. Graduates from college who set up the entire room, and after you complete the room, there are innovative challenges all around Ann Arbor to do before coming back for part 3 of the story. Early November, I went to Trapology in Boston. I thought it was fun. Then I went to Decode Detroit. As others have said, it gave me high expectations for all other escape rooms. From the moment you sign the release, you are immersed in an experience from the coordinator who acts as a doctor warning you of Minerva to Minerva helping you along to help her get onto the internet. My family and I loved being able to work together to solve multiple puzzles - sometimes together, sometimes individually. The six of us all came away feeling accomplished and more bonded. This place is fabulous. My friends and I were looking for a fun study break, so we decided to try Decode Detroit out. I had only gone to one (poor) escape room before, and admittedly I was a little apprehensive to give an escape room another go. However, Decode Detroit far surpassed my expectations! Had a great time at Decode Detroit! The high tech aspect of the escape room made it a truly unique experience and a real challenge but great activity for a group on the weekend. Would definitely recommend and appreciated the kindness of the host and how nicely everything was organized and set up. Also enjoyed continuing the puzzle throughout Ann Arbor, I did 1 of the routes and thought it was a fun way to extend to the day and keep up the brain teasers! read more
