Work was fine, but they were two weeks late (had to push out my movers pick up date... tried to delay another 2 weeks but I stressed the need to have it this week). Then, tried to charge me more money bc they claimed their supplier messed up (the reason for the extra money kept changing). I actually paid it but they ended up calling me to refund it when I asked them to text me a reason for the additional payment (again, their story kept changing so I wanted a firm reason as I was splitting the cost with someone else). My guess is this is a family business. Everyone was very friendly and their work was good, but the delay, then subsequently asking me for more money without a consistent explanation, was surprising. (I wonder if they just started working on it the days before delivery and realized they didn't have the right frame and tried to off load the last minute shipping costs to me) read more

I brought three vintage posters to this shop a few weeks ago to get framed. During drop off, I made it very clear that these were irreplaceable, as they're originals that belonged to my mother who had recently passed away. In fact, one of the workers on staff pointed out how valuable the posters were. On the original pickup date, they called to let me know that one of the three was not done, because they were waiting for parts to come in. After an extra week of waiting, they returned the final poster with some sort of paint/putty splotched on the last print. I'm assuming they delayed getting the poster back because they were trying to repair it. My irreplaceable print was not only returned behind schedule, but is now ruined. I'm starting to wonder if this is even the original print. The contrast and coloring is off, and given the delay getting the poster back, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they either ruined the original or sold it off. read more

Worth the wait and price. Like John M. - I had an article that is not replaceable. DAF staff addressed it with aplomb. I will be taking family antiques to be framed by them as well. I just picked up two pieces of art that I had framed here a couple of weeks ago. The quality and service were very good! To my surprise the price was also outstanding. Before coming here we went to Michael's across the street (thinking they would be the least expensive and we had a 50% off coupon). We just wanted a simple frame and white mat nothing fancy. The frames we had to choose from were all wood composite - not solid wood- and the price with the 50% discount was about 150$ more then what it cost at Decor Art and Frame. So let me recommend this place for a much bigger selection of frames. Made from real wood. Better people to help you select the right combo of frame, mat and glass. And all at a lower price. RUN AWAY from this place! I'm serious. I dropped off two beautiful pieces 2 months ago, and today I picked them up UNDONE and FULL of dust! They hadn't even touched them in 10 weeks! They told me 3-4 weeks at the most when I dropped it off. This is a ONE man shop, and when the dude vacations, nothing gets done. When the dude gets sick, nothing gets done. When the dude decides he's not going to work that day, nothing gets done. Of course, they'll still gladly TAKE your hard earned money. What a shame. I would assume they would take pride in what they do. At one point they were a decent company, now they're a shame. A joke. My gorgeous custom artworks - FULL of dust. Never again. I highly recommend this place for even simple frame jobs. The prices are reasonable. I think what stands out about the place is the quality of work. This is a very high level of craftsmanship in framing. I walked in with a couple of prints that I loved but didn't know how to frame or what would be a good format, including a 3D lithograph. I met with a lady and she was really nice and courteous and gave me great advise to help me pick some simple borders and finishes. When I picked them up the frames were well wrapped and perfected framed. You can tell they use top notch materials and take care regarding the details - each frame was aligned and spaced perfect with no creases or damage to the print. This place can do what Michael's can't, or at least what Michael's refuses to do. I needed a simple matte cutout to use as a large, lightweight frame for people to pose with for photos. I needed it thick enough to spray with chalkboard paint and not fall apart. Within 24 hours, John had my custom cut matte frame ready for pick up for no more than $35. He was pleasant to work with, timely, and no nonsense. You can't tell me Michael's can't do something like this. I'd rather take my business across the street to this local joint anyway. read more

Needed to quickly turn around a project for a gift I was preparing, and found that Michaels was unable to fulfill what I needed -- a bit shockingly, they referred me across the street to Decor Art & Frame, and I'm glad they did. Already had the print, a 24x36 frame, but needed custom matting on the fly. John was really nice, and extremely helpful as he said he would cut, mount and assemble the whole thing on the spot -- and he did it for a less than I was expecting. I have never had a canvas stretched "professionally" so I can't compare them to anyone else, however, I would not recommend them! I dropped off a large canvas to be stretched and was told that it would take two weeks to complete. Two weeks later I call and they say oh it will be ready next week. Repeat this process a few more times and after 6 weeks it was finally ready. For reference I dropped off my art on 8/24 and picked it up on 10/7. The quality of the canvas is sub par and is quite loose. The cheap canvases you can find at Michaels are wrapped better than mine. read more

A few months ago my wife took an art piece to get framed and they quoted it would take about a month. it took FIVE MONTHS. She had to constantly call and hound them and every time she would call and inquire they kept saying it still wasn't ready. They also gave her attitude like it was her fault for calling them over and over. Fast forward to now, I took a poster there to get framed the first of January...I didn't realize when I took it there that the place who gave her so much trouble was the same one I went to. Ugh. I told her I want to give this as an Anniversary gift and need to pick it up in a month and told her the last day it would need to be done by. She said no problem. I called her 2 days out from picking it up as a heads up and she said no prob. I get there on Sat when they open and it wasnt ready. She didnt even know where it was. THEN SHE GOES TO GET IT AND ITS STILL F'ING SITTING BEHIND SOME OTHER POSTERS. They hadnt even TOUCHED IT. She goes oh we can get this done in 30 mins. WTF? I'm paying you $150 for something youre gonna rush in 30 minutes?!?? I work on saturdays and they close early that day. I said I need it before you close today and I told you this a month ago. She wanted to take it to my house before our anniversary that next week i said no its a surprise i want it today and i dont want you bringing it to my house. She said shed bring it to where i was working before they closed that day. i said fine i need it by 1:30. She FREAKING calls me at that time apologizing it still wasnt ready. I'm like what happened to you doing it in 30 minutes?!?!? I wound up missing work, to drive back over to that STUPID F'ING PLACE, and she knocked $5 off of the stupid order. These people are complete and utter morons. Whats the point of the customer bringing it ahead of time, telling you when it needs to be done by, giving you over a month to do it, and youre so unorganized and lazy it had been sitting where you left it when i initially dropped it off. How are they still in business?!? It is UNBELIEVABLE. And the fact that this exact thing happened to my wife is literally mind blowing. She got attitude with me as well when i was frustrated. If you drop your stuff here good luck getting it done and have fun calling them a thousand times on your schedule to just get the run around. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL. read more

Hands down, great experience here. I got into a phase of collecting limited run art prints and posters this year after getting sick of my bare off-white walls. After acquiring enough pieces I checked Yelp, loaded up all my poster tubes and first visited one of the other well-reviewed local framing locations. The guy was nice enough and they offered a flat rate for posters up to a certain size, but I wanted to see what else was available. Walked into Decor and met Jon. Very personable and professional guy. I told him how many pieces I had and rough dimensions. Told him what I was hoping to spend altogether. Because of the volume of work I was bringing him, he was able to work with me to stay close to my budget. I brought the pieces in and we went through them one by one. Jon handles your frame-ables with great care. He had a lot of great suggestions for matting and display of each piece. By default I would have just gone with black, white, or no matte, but for several pieces Jon was able to find a specific color matte that just made the print pop and gave it a whole new dimension. This takes time going one by one, but it was totally worth it and I appreciated his patience to do this. Jon also gives you a quote for each piece as you go, so you can make decisions to help stay on-budget and see how the final figure is broken down. Speed. Jon's turnaround time is awesome. He told me it'd be about a week, but then called me a few days later and said everything was ready to pick up. The only time anything took longer than a week was when I wanted a very specific matte that he had to order. Quality. I am super happy with my final framed pieces. Everything looks very clean and precise. Service. When it was time to pick up, Jon not only showed me the proper way to stack framed art, he carried the pieces out to my car and carefully loaded them up himself. He even fashioned some bookend-like stoppers out of cardboard and taped them down to the trunk of my vehicle to keep the frames securely in-place. He then gave me all the mounting hardware I would need for free (little baggies of sturdy hooks and nails). I've returned to Decor for a second round of framing needs and will be back there again as soon as this last print I'm waiting on comes in the mail. Jon is great to work with and I'm excited to see what he comes up with this time. I don't write a lot of reviews, but when I experience service this great I feel it would be a grievous sin not to share it. read more
