Yosef did an incredible job re-stretching and framing my painting. I bought this painting from an artist on the street. Being eager to hang it right away, I took the artist's offer to frame it - a mistake I will not repeat. The painting was poorly stretched on a cheap frame, taking more out of the painting than needed. Yosef was able to re-stretch the painting (luckily the edges weren't tightly stretched, only the corners were). He did such a good job that he actually added about an inch *in each direction* to the painting. If you look closely in the attached photos, you can see that the lion's hair is no longer cut out of the frame. I truly couldn't be happier with the result. The framing itself was great too, but I just had to write something about the fact that the painting itself was better after Yosef put his hands on it. Yosef's gallery was the 6th one I entered when looking to frame my painting. He was by far the most professional, patient and informative out of all of them. read more

I purchased a large giclee canvas print while on vacation in Key West and it arrived at my NYC apartment badly wrinkled. Waited awhile for it to smooth out but that never happened so I turned to Yelp for a local framing shop to fix it. Found Decor Art Gallery and emailed Yosof who answered me quickly, then brought the piece in to him for an estimate. Yosof is a real pro, honest with a patient personality. First Yosof had to take the stretcher bars apart b/c they were crooked (labor intensive stuff) and repair the piece. Then he helped me to design the perfect frame at a very fair price, even looking at pics of my decor to make sure it would coordinate. My art was hand delivered on the promised date at no extra charge. The piece arrived nicely wrapped and in perfect condition (not the case with other framers I've used) and I'm thrilled with the result. Last month I brought a project to Decor. The New Yorker magazine ran an article about my work at NYC Parks, which included a personal caricature. I purchased an original print of the caricature and asked Decor to frame it for me as a gift for my parents. Yosof suggested I also include a copy of the article as a second panel in the frame. He offered to do the layout if I could send him a link to the article. I wasn't confident in how it look but I decided to take his advice and go for it. TL;DR: Great prices, awesome & super friendly service, speedy job! I purchased a beautiful oil painting of Venice during a trip this past summer. I finally had some time to get it framed and dropped by Decor Art Gallery last Sunday as it's the closest framing shop/art gallery to my apartment. SERVICE: Yosef was incredibly helpful and super friendly. He spent quite a while helping me choose frames and narrow down my options. When I finally settled between two frames, he offered to let me take the frames back to my apartment to see how it would look on the wall. He was great at showing examples and anything he had in his store that might give me a better idea of the overall frame. He wasn't pushy and gave a solid, understandable breakdown of the price. He also told us exactly how they were going to stretch the painting and the remainder of the process. Lastly, I had an appointment in the middle of our consultation. Yosef was willing to keep his store open until I came back and even held onto the painting until then. SELECTION: Phenomenal selection of frames. They have some of their own frames which tend to be cheaper as well. I was a bit overwhelmed at first, but Yosef asked me what I thought I wanted and the style I had in mind and then gave me a few options to start with. Again, Yosef was very knowledgeable and patient throughout the entire process. PRICING: Very competitive pricing. Checked around a lot of other places and got the best deal here. After the discounts/coupons we had, it was $50 to stretch, $100 for the inside linen frame, and $350 for the frame. Our piece was approximately 36 x 48". We live 3-4 blocks away, and they dropped off the painting with our doorman at no extra cost as well. TIMELINESS: Came in on Sunday, Yosef projected with his current workload that he'd be able to get it done by Wednesday--Thursday at the latest. They finished the job the following week, but didn't have time to drop off until Friday. Wasn't a big deal to me, and I wasn't really waiting around for it. read more

Decor Art Gallery did a fantastic job framing two of my diplomas - my undergraduate and law school diplomas. I found this awesome place after Googling up various framing shops. I visited a few of these shops, such as the highly rated ones on Yelp, before picking this location. When I asked for quotes on framing the diploma, the prices were rather high - ranging from $200 - $300ish for a diploma. These locations didn't tell me about things like UV Glass and Museum Glass, Double Matting, etc. When I asked for a quote from this location via Yelp, Will was very upfront and candid and gave me a quote that fell in line with what I expected diploma framing should be. I was amazed by their knowledge and wanted to give this place a shot because it sounded like they knew what they're talking about. When I went to the location, Yosof (the boss) was very welcoming and recommended that I get my diplomas double-mated and UV glass. He honored the quote (generally) that was given to me on Yelp and ensured me that the diploma will come out stunningly beautiful/amazing. I did receive the 10% Yelp discount and well, I chose the frame for the diploma. He also said that I should get the diploma framed within two weeks maximum. Free delivery too. One week flies by and sure enough the diplomas were delivered to my office! I was shocked. I had a chance to look at the framed diplomas and indeed they are stunning. I wholeheartedly recommend this place for your framing needs and will definitely come back here in the future for any framing needs. I came in originally planning on printing out a picture on canvas for my mom's birthday. When I arrived to the shop, I saw that they had these gorgeous large metallic-surface shiny print that made photos pop so beautifully. The folks here were super helpful in explaining the process and making sure I was taken care of. They were willing to work with me to get the metallic print I needed, and I'm glad to hear their input of the different kinds of prints.
