I just worked with Joe on an extremely complicated job and I was absolutely astounded with the work he and Kathy did. I've been a photographer in the city for the last 18 years, worked with framers all over, I've even framed myself, and I can say without a doubt there is nobody I would trust more as a framer after this job. I plan to use them exclusively going forward. We had about five weeks to scout a massive office, pick out prints from my collection, and take 30 old gold trimmed frames from decades ago from their office to refresh with new work. Joe measured them all, worked with me on the measurements and print proportions to fit correctly, printed them (wonderfully printed), and came into the office to take apart the old frames and replace them with the new matted prints. The speed and precision that they did this with was astounding. Everything fit, everything was measured and done perfectly. And there was even a further complication to the job when I found out I needed surgery a week before the client wanted it finished and I wouldn't be able to lift 10 pounds for 10 days after. To help, Joe and Kathy rushed to get it done so I would have two days to put the 30 massives frames up around the office. Everything was finished the day before my surgery thanks to them. The office looked fantastic. In addition, they are just wonderful people. Use them as a framer and photographer and I'm sure you will be extremely happy that you did, as I was. read more

Great little spot that can pretty much handle any photo needs. I needed something simple - some photos of my daughter printed out for her birthday. I took the photos over on a USB drive, but they're flexible. If you need to email them over, that's an option as well. Fantastic service and very quick turnaround times. I brought in a black and white photo 9 x 12 to be printed because the print was bent and wrinkled. I wanted to have this photo framed. This should have been $75.00 to print that he quoted as I stood in front of him when I left the photo with him. Joe insisted on a larger size so he could get an extra $40 out of me for the larger print. He reprinted the photo to the size 9 x 12 and instead of keeping the back ground white he put some film over it which made it look awful and of course i can't use or have it framed. This was all about what he wanted larger size for the print to get more money and not what the customer wanted. read more

This business is a cut above and this man is a saint. I had to get three rolls of 35mm film developed and scanned. I'm from out of town and I needed it done within basically one day. Did I remember to mention that... absolutely not. I ended up calling 3hrs before they closed to see if they were ready and He was kind enough to rush to fulfill my time limitations. Oh, and on top of that I gave him the wrong email so I called 5mins before they closed and he had to reboot his computer to send me my scans. It is worth the trek to get quality photos even if it is for a passport/government document. Seriously the quality is so good that I may update this as my profile photo for my social media platforms. I printed out a few family photos at CVS to have displayed in picture frames, and found the quality of the cvs photo prints to be quite poor. I searched online and found Photo Mission, had them print out the same set of photos, and the quality was significantly better. Cost was comparable. I actually didn't purchase anything from Photo Mission, as I was going to print and frame a picture using their service but my client went in a different direction. BUT Joe helped me out along the way as I tried to figure out what would be the best option for the idea I had in mind. Joe was extremely communicative, the prices were reasonable, and he provided me with a range of options. He even offered to check the quality of my photo to be sure it would look good blown up. The customer service here was just great and he had a wonderful disposition. Photo Mission definitely gave me the impression that I would be working with professionals. You need passport photos? They got your passport photos right here. I came on a Saturday and was in and out in 10 minutes. The guy who took the photos and processed them was nice. Probably would have been a lot faster but there was another customer in there dissecting the recent Super Bowl in excruciating detail so the guy working there was being polite. The price was right (under $20) and I was on my way. I didn't see a mirror (though it's likely there was one-I didn't really think about it) so I was little disheveled in the picture. One side of my mustache was very unkempt. The guy showed it to me before he processed it but on the camera it's kind of small so I wasn't appropriately mortified until I saw it in print. read more

The only reason i'm giving this spot 3 stars is because of how expensive it was. It was my first time and I had 1 roll of film developed and it was $20 plus tax, i also paid in cash but didn't matter still had to find the $1.75 for tax. I wasn't able to go to my normal spot but usually it costs $13-$15 a roll. The owner is very nice and by the rating i'm sure his work is good in other departments but just a heads up for those of you needing to develop film. read more

This place made my day today!!! I was looking for somewhere i can print some pictures for work . I needed to have good quality print photos then i went to staples (43th st 3rd) they were not helping what i wanted to have also not even cheap with bad quilty . I was very disappointed by customer service at print shop and searched yelp and this place showed up where i always passed this store to my studio and when i got there nice gentleman welcomed me listened my problem with printing pictures then he solved the problem all my pictures came out so nicely and fast . My husband went to four locations in one afternoon (including the big names-CVS, Duane Reade, and another small shop), and this was the only place that had someone available to prepare photos and, turns out, it was the most reasonably priced. Just came here today, this store is really small and located inside a residence building. You basically have to press "1" at the door and wait for them to buzz you in. Overall, the experience is great, they know a lot about passport photos, you don't even need to tell them the exact measurements. The passport photo I took was for a Schengen visa, they have this weird measurement (35 mm x 45 mm) which you can't get at your local CVS or Walgreens. For a price of around $28 you get 4 photos, 2 cut to the size you wanted and 2 uncut, so that you can use in the future for other passport related matters. The service is great, the only slow thing was just waiting for the photos to be printed. Highly recommend this place if you want a fast service for your passport photo! A fast and professional photo studio tucked away in Midtown East. I had to take some UK style passport photos (35mm x 45mm) which I couldn't get at the CVS and Duane Reade stores in the area. I found this studio on Google Maps and got there within five minutes (no reservations or appointments needed). This studio is located on the ground floor of a residential building. There's a sign at the door that indicates to press "1" and you'll get buzzed in. The studio owner ran me through the process quickly and his staff took the photo for me. Within 10 minutes, I got what I needed. Regardless of how many passport photos you need, it costs $28 for up to four. Considering how CVS charges $13 for two photos, I decided to just get all four photos and save two for future uses. Overall, the staff at this photo studio are fast and professional. The location is also very convenient. There's a UPS store on the next block for mailing your visa/ passport application packages. I highly recommend coming here for your passport photos! read more

There's something about friendly service that makes even the most administrative errands pleasant. A little goes a long way. I'm always greeted by a smile and the service is very quick. You don't need appointments to go in and get your passport photo taken or make prints. And the owner explains every step of what he is doing (how long it takes for the photo machine to warm up, how just one of two passport photos need to be signed by him, etc.) so you know exactly what is going on. I paid $32.62 for two passport photos and he included another pair as an extra (he said it had dirt on it from printing so I can keep it as a spare pair). Apparently it's impossible to get a Canadian-sized passport photo at Duane Reade or Fedex Kinkos - nobody knows what to do with the weirdo 4 x 4 3/4" sizing - so I'm glad I found this place on Yelp. In and out in 10 min, and most of that was waiting for the photo to develop (they actually do chemical processing, not a digital print). I was a bit surprised by the pricing - $32.65 after tax for two photos - but they do have professional lighting, software that does autosizing etc, and I'm not taking any risks with the whims of the bureaucrats at the Canadian passport processing office. The folks who helped me were quite friendly and competent. There was alot going on in the store - some other folks getting professional photos taken for their website, a job interview happening in front of my eyes, etc, but I didn't feel ignored and everything was done quickly. Kind of fun to see a busy shop at work. Convenient location. Will come back for anything else I need. read more

I brought the folks at Photo Mission a number of different tasks, from printing old negatives, to restoring an old family photograph, and then doing custom framing; each was done beautifully, exceeding my expectations, and also accomplishing each task more quickly than estimated. I would give a 0 if I could. I reached the place at 5.55, closing time is 6. Requested them several times for a photo they declined saying they turned off their machine. I explained that it was an urgent matter and the lyft guy dropped Me at the wrong spot and my phone map was not opening so I literally asked people the way and came. The least that could do is be polite and do something. They just gave a blank face. I dint know why you have to write 6 when you shut your machine at 5.45-50. read more

I just got into photography and the staff at Photo Mission are amazing. They're very helpful and nice. I'm a very impatient person and the fact that I can come here and just wait a few minutes for my prints is phenomenal. I used to got to Duane Reade but their machine is always down and the quality is terrible. Photo Mission uses very good paper and their prints are very good quality. You can definitely see a difference. Did I mention it's also cheap??! I'm a loyal customer now and I won't go anywhere else for my prints. FYI - They also develop film! read more

Went in there and got service right away for my Canadian Passport. Now, to those who don't know, Canadian Passport photos are among the strictest in the world requiring no smiling, no shadows, certain head dimensions, etc. etc. and he was completely familiar with all of it. Total legit and professional. I also chatted him up about travelling. Friendly guy, good service. Not sure what else to say. I was truly impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Within the last month, I had my passport photo taken and I dropped off a VHS to be converted to DVD. Although the workers were always different, each one was nicer than the last. Every business should be run this way. First of all, they photographed me several times until I was happy with the picture. I wasn't sure which one I was going to use (since they were both great) so I wanted to order both sets. The man only charged me for one of them, so I paid under $20 for my passport photo. Even the lady at the post office, where I submitted my application, commented on the great photo. As far as the VHS to DVD conversion, it was done rather quickly and on time. I dropped it off on Thursday and picked it up on Tuesday. It was also $20. However, the gentleman told me that if I need a lot of tapes transferred in the future, they have a bulk rate. Although this place was somewhat out of the way for me, this will be my go-to place for all of my photo and video needs. read more

After taking photos for Canadian passport for my son, I thought I'd do our green card US passport photos here too. I needed 8 each for my wife and kids. If two is $20, I wouldn't have thought 8 is $80. I would have thought the charge was per person, not per sheet of photo paper. Perhaps there would be a nominal charge for prints, but the same as a taking pictures all over again? It's basically 8x the price of passport photos at Costco ($4.99 for 4).
