Once we chose what we wanted, he came back about a week later and installed both railings within 3 hours. After several weeks we noticed a problem with one side due to the way our porch had been installed. We called him to see what we could do to possible fix it, and he came out an anchored it for us at no charge. They quickly set up an appointment to examine the damage and get me a quote. As promised I had a quote in my inbox later that day. They did great work. You can't even tell an idiot in a BMW crashed into it. After the metal work was done we discovered the motor was damaged. They worked with their supplier to get the motor back to the manufacture to be repaired saving me hundreds over a new motor. Now everything is as good as new again. Most importantly though they had great communication. I've noticed that contractors/home improvement businesses have horrible communication and you have to stay on top of them to get things done and find out what's going on. Not with L&J. Chris was in constant contact with me about the status of the repair and getting the motor fixed. Chris was always friendly, professional and kept me in the loop of what was happening with my repair. I would definitely recommend them and use them again if the need arises.

Gerardo and his team were an absolute joy to work with from start to finish and I could not be…read morehappier with the quality and beauty of the result! My job was large and timing was complex but he took it all in stride and showed the value of experience! I own a corner lot and needed front and two side fences constructed at 80 ft lengths on both sides. I wanted to achieve the beautiful design of horizontal slats but not break the bank doing so. Gerardo consulted me patiently and was incredibly flexible in his design allowing us to get ultimate privacy of 7' overlapping boards between my neighbor, slats in front, and vertical board with 1/2" gaps on the street side. So, what made Gerardo a cut above the rest? His communication, dedication to quality, and ability to get things done on a tight schedule while still being flexible enough to quickly deal with unforeseen issues. For example. I had to delay the project three times due to roadblocks from other home remodel inspections. I always gave him a few weeks notice but nonetheless he was always gracious with the requests. Another example: I made an assumption about the neighbor wanting to terminate their front/side fence flush with the front of their home (I mean who doesn't want more private yard space???) Well, you know what they say about assuming... when the neighbor asked to move the fence segment back Gerardo did not hesitate to give a fair price for the additional labor and execute still within the original timeline (an amazingly swift 4 days). In addition to his flexibly, his judgement was impeccable! Every recommendation he made about the design, from heights, to following the sidewalk curve, to whom he subcontracted for cement work on my pavers all turned out perfectly! Lastly, the quality of his work is truly next level! The tolerances, grading, levels, spacing show a dedication to his craft that is truly rare! We have a relatively challenging property with grades falling away from the home on each side and he made everything look effortless! I'm very good at finding issues with services and products (it's actually my profession) but in the case of Gerardo and Authentic construction I really have nothing to complain about... even billing and invoice processing (paperwork), which can be a sticking point with other contractors, was completely smooth and effortless (BTW, lo siento regarding the late materials deposit!) If you have a hardscaping or fencing project Gerardo is your guy! Looking forward to our next project!

I met with them to do the quote and they were thorough. They quote came in and it was right in line with what I was willing to pay. So, I hired them. They seemed like good people and I felt like they were really paying attention to what I wanted. They patiently waited for me to try and match one color for days, and were helpful in selecting a new paint when we didn't get an exact match. Overall, they did an amazing job and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs painting done. They were patient, reliable and did high quality work. Also, I have curved ceilings in the family room and dining room. When we bought the house they were the same color as the walls. So, the next painter did the same. Jose and Lou suggested I paint them white, like normal rooms. So, I tried it and WOW - what a difference. It has made a huge improvement in the look and feel of the room. He came out to reassess and met with my mother and I and agreed to send "a worker out", that never happened. I am sure it was a challenge to be bending 18 ga SS metal and get it correct to 1/8". Taking care of the surfaces and ensuring grain direction is per customers preference. And a good price.
