We went heavy on appetizers; shishito peppers (not for the faint of heart), Pastrami egg rolls (everyone's fave), Crispy artichokes and Hummus (awesome pita! Mom's favorite). The Shrimp & Lobster Mac and cheese was a standout. Loved by all. Chicken Shawarma was fine. Pot of Mussels was very good (not the "moules" you'd find in Brussels, but they stand on their own merits.) Lovely evening.

Ordered: Crispy artichokes ($15)- these were fried and tasty with a creamy yogurt sauce. Nothing crazy or exotic flavor wise, but enjoyable. Polenta bites ($12)- I really enjoyed these! They were a little salty, a little smoky (bacon) and a little sweet (honey). I will say that I strongly recommend Village Social either update their menu or change the toppings, as these polenta bites were topped with crispy bacon but the menu did not indicate this. Vegetarians in our group didn't realize this dish wasn't vegetarian. Chicken Milanese ($28)- the portion was very generous! It came with a large chicken breast and I requested to change the salad on top to Caesar. I appreciated their willingness to modify the order. All in all, I'd recommend checking out Village Social the next time you're looking for a dinner spot in the area.

They set us up in a large private room on the second floor. It was a spacious and comfortable setting, big enough to give the kids space to run around and quiet enough to let the adults hear each other talk. Our server quickly took our drink orders, then we settled in and perused the classic American menu. For appetizers we had chicken wings, potato skins, and meatballs. All of them were great, but the real standouts were the entrees. I had a blackened monkfish special. It was truly a gem of a dish. The monkfish was nice and light. It paired beautifully with the mango salsa, sautéed spinach and jasmine rice. If they can reliably source the fish, I'd recommend that they make it a permanent part of the menu. Overall I highly recommend Rye Grill & Bar. 5/5

Seats were hard as heck wood and mighty uncomfortable The food was--overall, mehhh First the potato skins were minuscule, Lilliputian and almost not even big enough to be considered bite sized The Caesar salad was...hmmmm, Ho-hum with fresh and crisp greens, ample if not generous Parmesan and tasty albeit stingy portion chicken. I tried the steak tacos and this was a fumble. Bland steak, miserly portions and soggy soft shell. The raviolis were a tad undercooked but really tasty. The sauce had a hair too much red wine but the taste as still very good and the portion rather admirable. I'd order it again. The Apple blossom desert was amazing. Dough was slightly and pleasantly sweet and the apple was caramelized and tender. So.... Food was a solid 3-4 The service a gentleman's C in or 3 The comfort and ambiance a 2

We arrived and didn't know we could sit anywhere, I guess they noticed and with a friendly attitude let us know. The patrons, specially at the bar, were having a great time. Grateful for the fantastic weather we're able to sit outside and we had a great time as well. The server was a doll, taking care of the inside and outside. The food was delicious, we all agreed that the chicken quesadilla was one of the best we've ever had. My friends had a burger and fish and chips, we shared a home made brownie à la mode. I recommend Kelly's hand down. Cheers

Its been around since the mid 70's. Not too long ago I ran a half marathon up in Rye along with a friend of mine running in her 100th half. She had a post race celebration party here which was catered and on their back patio. Nicely done, the food was tasty and the beer nice and cold. It's a true locals spot that those in the neighborhood patronize as while there I saw a bunch of them getting their day drinking on during early afternoon. It's an old school working mans bar with a bit of a worn look but in a good way.

We had unsweetened iced teas, and the kids' seltzer came in a kid-sized cup. After ordering, we were served cornbread sticks, which were really good and a hit with my son. Elwood also brought crayons and paper for him, which was a thoughtful touch. We started with the gator nuggets and frickles. The gator nuggets were our favorite appetizer. The frickles were good, but the batter was fairly thick, which made the pickle flavor a little subtle. For my entrée, I had the fried chicken with collard greens and mac and cheese. The chicken was nicely crispy and came with four pieces, though it was a little overcooked for my taste. The collard greens were on the sweet side, and the mac and cheese could have used a bit more flavor. The highlight of our visit was the service. Elwood was friendly, attentive, and struck the perfect balance of checking in without being overbearing. Overall, the food was a bit mixed for us, but the excellent service, family-friendly touches, and pleasant outdoor seating made for an enjoyable experience. We'll be back to try some of the other menu items.
