For my dad's birthday this year, we decided to try something new and chose axe throwing as our activity. We picked a location that was the midpoint between my home in Connecticut and my parents' home in New York City. We couldn't have chosen a better place than Banana Cabana! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a staff member (I wish I had caught her name) who greeted us with a big smile. She gave an excellent demonstration on how to properly throw an axe, let us practice a few rounds, and provided helpful tips on positioning our arms and legs for the best results. The venue had a great drink menu with plenty of options, including non-alcoholic beer. We also loved the variety of games available Battleship was a favorite! Another fun touch was the TouchTunes music system, where we could purchase credits and play our favorite songs. We definitely took advantage of that! Overall, we had an amazing time and will 100% be returning if we're ever in the area again. read more

Well we originally came here because online it says New Roc had bowling, and mini golf but everything was closed down the only thing open was Axe throwing, the Movie theater, and places to eat. We drove a long distance to we went in to learn to throw some Axes. They seemed a bit short staff but in good spirits I saw a tiki bar and they had scannable QR codes on the tables but they bar and food options where closed as well so missed opportunity there. Axe throwing definitely will make you thirsty we did the 1 Hr option and would've signed up for more if there was a food and beverage option there. Only thing I didn't like is you pay for an hour but the staff started the timer before hand so we didn't get an actual hour they started the timer and then explained the rules to us and showed us how to throw it would make sense to do the tutorial and then start the timer once we are ready or once they are done explaining. All in all it was a fun experience with our group of friends definitely fun to do. read more

*This review is a year overdue. Hopefully they still don't do this* I went to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was empty. We were the only ones there. The staff was friendly enough. The problem was that of all the boards available, they gave us one that was completely worn in the middle. At first I thought we just sucked, but I went right up to the board, put an axe to it, and it didn't hold at all! Maybe they wanted their better boards to last longer. Left a bad enough taste in my mouth that when thinking of something for my coworkers and I to do, this memory made me apprehensive. My time was almost up so I didn't complain, but next time I'll check the board right away. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. We planned a visit in advance, confirmed everything with the Owner ahead of time, and still got turned away at the door. The manager, John, was not only unhelpful but flat-out rude and dismissive to our entire group. His reasoning? Children aren't allowed because the venue serves alcohol. It is important to note that there is an arcade for kids and families in this venue. So this is a completely outdated and ridiculous policy, especially considering family-friendly businesses like bowling alleys, Topgolf, and Dave & Buster's all serve alcohol while welcoming families. If the concern is safety or behavior, then enforce rules or have waivers stating gaming will be revoked if rules are not being followed, don't use alcohol as an excuse to exclude families, especially when your space was nearly empty on a Friday night. We were ready to spend our evening and money there but ended up going to another venue where we were welcomed without issue. Clearly, this place values rigid, poorly thought-out policies over customer experience. If this is how management treats guests, I won't be returning--and I suggest others think twice before supporting a business that treats paying customers and families this way. Furthermore, John's (manager) rudeness and lack of professionalism are concerning and need to be addressed, as he represents the brand and significantly influences how it is perceived by customers. read more

It's a fun place for axe throwing! You can pay for an hour or 2. The prices are fair. The games are a lot of fun. There's a projector on to the board (I think it's cork based, not wood) that displays different types of games ranging from the original "darts" type of board to duck hunt, zombie hunt, tic tac toe, connect 4, etc. The place is clean. The service is great. They don't have their liquor license, yet, so no drinks. Although that's probably for the best since you'll be handling and throwing sharp axes. They also have a mini-arcade room for kids and adults. read more

They can improve everything, the guy with the blood hair is a asshole to the guests, have been coming for 2 years and I wanted to come back to play billiards with a group of 7 and got denied we are all over 18. This place needs to be more visiting to it's guests if not it will lose Alot of it's guests, and i hope it does too at this point. read more

I went with a large group of friends and we needed 3 lanes I was extremely happy we could be in lanes next to one another. The instructor was great with demonstrating how to throw. Also Enjoyed the different game modes so it wasn't just regular throwing at a board. read more

Cool place, and unique in I haven't seen axe throwing mixed with technology. Parking is convenient in the lot next to movie theatre, and if you have an electric car charging in the lot. Apparently they will be serving food around Thanksgiving, and the lo action is still being built up inside the "mall." Great date night spot, and something unique to do in the area (we were in Yonkers, so 15 minute drive). There is a bar inside, so feel free to mix drinking and throwing axe. Need a little more variety on the games, but that will come with time. Great ownership, and I'd love to see this business successful. Discount for college students in the area, including Sarah Lawrence peeps. read more

Something fun to do! It's really sad that finding good clean fun things to do with friends or family (bowling, mini golf, , paintball, arcades, etc) are hard to come by in Westchester County, which also doesn't make any sense because people WANT stuff to do, but this is something that's also new and different. It's kind of set up like a bowling alley, but with axes, and once you get into it, it's lots of fun. They also have a mini arcade there with a few old school games. The only thing I'd say is it's in the indoor mall of New Roc, which is sadly otherwise abandoned, and a new location may be in order. Ridge Hill in Yonkers, while also pretty empty, may actually be a better spot. read more
