I originally found Dee because she was one of the preferred wedding planners recommended by our hotel. Didn't know where to start so I sent out mass email to all the ones on the list. To add some context, we are bad at planning which is why we needed a planner in the first place. By the time we were looking for a planner, we had less than a year to get everything together. We needed someone to stay on top of us because we both tend to procrastinate on these type of things. Dee was one of the few planners that immediately followed up, and repeatedly followed up. She was also one of the only planners that, during the initial consultation, really started talking about numbers, and the thing that initially sold me was when she raised the fact that our wedding was close to Mother's Day, and how we need to reserve the flowers ASAP so we didn't gouged on the florals. As far as pricing, she wasn't the cheapest, but in comparison to some other planners I inter , I found her rates to be reasonable. While I'm sure most planners have relationships with vendors, I felt she always kept my budget in mind and chose the best value vendor for my budget while still maintaining the quality and high-end feel my wife wanted. As I hoped, she stayed on top of us and made sure we did what we needed to do. She was responsive and attentive, and walked and/or dragged us through every part of the exhaustive process that is planning a wedding. On the day of the wedding, we were incredibly pleased by the end result. Her and her team were there at the crack of dawn and hours after the wedding ended. We had a beautiful ceremony and reception, and I know it would literally have been impossible for us without her. Can't say enough good things. We reached out to Dee a year and a half ahead of out intended wedding date, only knowing that we wanted a luxurious destination wedding. We did not have a clear vision in our minds of what we wanted our wedding to be except good food, vibes, incorporating our Chinese/Vietnamese culture, and memorable moments within our budget. We could probably write a novel on our experience with Dee, but we'll try to keep it "short". We got engaged in December 2022 and were a bit lost when it came to planning our wedding. My now husband, Joseph, wanted to get married in the latter half of 2023, which gave us less than a year to plan and with the amount of information there was on the internet about weddings and timelines, I was overwhelmed. After extensive research on wedding planners, we found Dee and reached out to her. Prior to our first meeting with Dee, we were very positive given the reviews, but once we talked with her and went into detail on our planning process, our confidence shot through the roof. After dreaming about my wedding since I was a little girl, you would think I had more of an idea of what I envisioned, but I realized I actually had no clue. Dee spent so much time getting to know us as a couple, our vision, budget, our preferences, and more in order to curate what became one of the best days of our lives. By being so engaged with us, Dee became like family and the whole process was so enjoyable. In addition to wedding-related things, we would frequently discuss family, faith, stories from our past, the future, and so much more. One specific example I remember so clearly was regarding florals. Since I had no idea what florals I even liked, she showed me multiple examples, designs, and themes that I might have liked and one in particular stood out. Without even saying anything, Dee said my eyes lit up to the one that caught my eye and that just shows the magic touch she has in being able to curate a love story for who you are as a person and together as a couple. Another thing we'd like to speak on are our vendors. All of our vendors were recommended by Dee or have previously worked with her. During our initial meetings, whether it was for a makeup trial, vision board set-up, etc, they all asked how we found them. Once we mentioned Dee, every single one of them started with, "OMG I love Dee so much". That spoke to us in volumes because we believe that people are reflections of the company they keep and it became clearer over time to see how and why Dee is the best of the best. We loved every single vendor and created a wonderful foundation and friendship with them all. We didn't expect to build these types of relationships, but by doing so, we had a wedding day that far exceeded any expectations. During our wedding day, we were fortunate enough to work with Dee's wonderful team members: Judy, Savannah, and Carolina. We definitely knew they put out hundreds of fires behind the scenes that we weren't aware of, but that's why they are so amazing - because they didn't want us to be aware of the fires so that we could fully enjoy our day. Judy was the main coordinator for our rehearsal and wedding day and she always checked with us to ensure we were comfortable with something and went above and beyond during the day of the wedding. We always told my family and friends that Dee and her team are like fairy godmothers and it's true because our family fell in love with them. We can't even tell you how many positive comments of adoration and respect we received from wedding guests towards them, but it was a lot. Lastly, we'd like to speak about Dee's character. To say that Dee is a blessing is an understatement. Words cannot truly describe how grateful we are for her and her team. It has been our pleasure and absolute honor to work with Dee and I pray that we continue to cross paths throughout life. As I mentioned before, we discussed various topics outside of wedding planning, which showed Dee's character as a friend, educator, family woman, businesswoman, and SO much more. I hired Dee 18 months prior to our wedding. It was during a difficult time of the pandemic when Hawaii implemented strict restrictions on gathering. The wedding industry of the island was hurt, and was recovering from the previous year. I contacted local planners and waited days or even weeks to get a reply. I was so nervous planning this wedding. Such a huge event with so many eyes that would be scrutinizing everything. They are definitely the master planners! They made it all look so simple, but of course I knew so much more was going on in the background. Planning a wedding always terrified me. After feeling so discouraged with boba vendors either not responding to us or not being able to give us what we wanted we told Dee and like a fairy God mother she emailed us a boba vendor she had worked with before in 2 seconds flat. Once all of our vendors were locked in we stated working with Agnes. She's like the big sister I never had. I could reach out to her day or night with any questions or concerns. She definitely helped keep the stress to a minimum. Day of wedding she and her team were like magicians behind the curtain. While we would not recommend that tight of a timeline for any couple, we highly recommend Dee Lee Designs. Hiring Dee was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. We were 3 months out from our scheduled wedding date, and had gotten to the point of being overwhelmed, we desperately needed help fine-tuning the details. At the advice of family and friends we started looking for a wedding planner who could help us through to the finish line. From the beginning consultation call (for an hour!) Dee impressed us with her knowledge of the industry, her wide network of industry contacts, and especially the numerous creative ideas she gave us (for free!) to help make our wedding even more magical. She was always available for a phone call, text, email to talk through our event and made us feel like a part of her team's ohana. Dee gave us a ton of ideas to make our wedding more personalized to us, such as being from Hawai`i and having live hula performances. She helped us get in touch with what made us, US and bring our personalities and interests into the wedding . Not only that, but she was able to get us thinking about aspects of our wedding we would never have come up with on our own (i.e. creating and printing menu cards and having the wedding party florals sent to the hotel for pictures). Our love of food came through to our guests in our choices of catering (she accompanied us to the tasting) and our mochi/Krispy Kreme donut wall (big thanks to Dee for the inspo).
