I love this place, one of the few places around that groom cats. The owner Shawn is the sweetest most compassionate and understanding human! When I bring my cat there it's usually for matts that got out of control. The first time I booked my appointment on Facebook a few years back, and when I brought her in, they had no idea why I was there and who my cat was. Turns out I made the appointment with a Dee-O-Gee in OHIO!! But the groomer there on that day reached into pet my cat and said "oh! we cannot let her go home like this! We will fit her in!" Of course, I've been going back ever since. The same cat has cancer now and her grooming ability is fading because it's a bulging carcinoma on her face and nose. She's uncomfortable with her coat having several matts and hairballs from badly shedding, and hates being brushed, so I messaged for an urgent grooming, to keep her comfortable for the days or weeks she has left. Not only did Shawn answer me immediately on Facebook messenger, but took her in a few hours later and did a beautiful job! We discussed her condition, managing her stress, keeping it quick, plan B if she couldn't handle the shaver... it would be easy for a groomer to decline such a "patient" but that's not what happened at all. I waited for a bit and my kitty was returned unstressed and Matt-free, wanting to shop the store instead of go back in her crate I'm so grateful, this made her life more comfortable today and relieved my stress over trying to groom her myself!! Note, There were also a couple other times where I needed to work with the groomer on certain requests and custom needs for my cat. They've had different groomers and the cut may differ a little bit, but they always pay attention to what I asked them to focus on whether it's Matt removal, trimming her butt real short etc. I definitely recommend for cat grooming! I recently dropped off my female Bernese Mountain dog for a full grooming at 9:30AM. At 2:15pm, I called to check on the status of my dog, and the person working told me she was almost done drying and was next to be groomed....fine...I'm not going to be that guy. I call back 5:05pm since I haven't heard anything..... MY DOG IS STILL WET AND DRYING and has not been groomed!!! ....again they give me the excuse she takes a long time to dry....almost 8 hours of drying!!! Why did they schedule my appointment at 9:30am if they couldn't groom my dog timely? Who knows if they've given my dog water or a potty break. We use to love Dee-O-Gee, we have used their services many times for dog grooming. Toys! You name it. however, about a month ago we stopped in to have our golden retriever groomed. We wanted just a short trim, just a touch up. We asked for a specific guard size, and described how he just needed his coat evened out. The gentlemen decided to tell us what we would prefer and his recommendation. Though we didn't ask for it. We politely thanked him for his input, then insisted we wanted to keep his coat longer. As well our golden was 3 1/2 weeks out of neutered surgery, his incision was far enough closed that our vet said we could take him to be groomed and bathed. However, we were keeping the soft cone on as it was keeping him from agitating the area. We asked it stay on, and the gentlemen then lectured us how he doesn't muzzle dogs and he thinks cones are malicious. you're a dog groomer that I'm paying, you're not my vet not licensed as a vet and I personally don't care how you choose to take care of your animals. It's not your place to lecture us on how we care for our animal! When we picked our pup up, he was shaven. Even had bald patches on his belly where the cut was terribly uneven. The worst part of it all. His whiskers were shaven down. (Golden retrievers whiskers should never be cut. They still haven't grown back!) My dog was scared, he had been kept in a crate in the back. To top it all off, I had to ask for the soft cone back. As they never had it on him while he was there. it was kept on the counter- unmarked. I had to describe it so the teenager at checkout could go find it and grab it for us. They lost 2 dog customers that visit. Our pup will never go back, as well my in-laws down the street have agreed they are not taking their cane corso/ Great Dane back. Ownership or management must have changed, it use to be such a nice place. Our dog is our family, it's my son. I don't need to be lectured on how to take care of him. That's between our vet and our family. If I choose a haircut, that doesn't mean chose your own instead. Lastly, if I tell you how best to care for my animal, the last thing you do is chose your own path. Irresponsible, careless, rude, unprofessional. You all can kiss my ass. Caution! I went in for the first time last week to buy raw fog food. I bought 3 bags and noticed the bags were different and did ask and they said it was a brand change. After feeding the food to my dogs i went to throw one of the bags away and noticed the raw food was almost 3 years old! It says best used by 6/2023. My dogs are fine but be careful and make sure you read the labels. The obviously aren't keeping fresh food. They are just keeping it frozen until then sell it. Which is 3 years! I ended up calling the business back to let them know and she was said "oh it slipped my mind to let you know and that when I cut her she wasn't bleeding here" We ended up going back to the business to try to get a refund or at least our tip money back and they said that they do not do refunds and that it's all in the paperwork that you signed! Do NOT come here. I came to pick up my dog explicitly waiting until after the pickup time they gave me to provide ample time for delays. When I arrived the lady at the front desk was extremely rude stating that he had not been groomed yet and they will text me when he's ready, reinforcing it takes three hours from drop off. He had been there for four hours at this point. They also explicitly said at drop off not to call to check in on when he's ready, which is why I showed up after the completion time provided. I could see him back there panting, crammed in a tiny cage then had to wait another two hours to pick him up. The most disturbing part was when I went to pick him up seeing the dogs in their "doggy day care" completely unsupervised with no one even in the room or monitoring them while they were all crying and jumping on the gate to get out. The second we left my dog desperately ran to pee and was so thirsty when we got home. I'm sharing in hopes of providing honest information to anyone who wants to avoid these concerns for their own pets. Extremely disappointed with my experience here. I trusted this business with my pups, and the one of the groomer's injured her and did not tell me. I didn't even notice the injury at first until she started scratching at it later. If I had known about it sooner, I could have started treating it immediately. My dog is diabetic, so healing takes much longer and complications are a bigger concern. What makes this even more upsetting is that both of my dogs' grooms actually turned out really well otherwise. I was so excited to find a local groomer. Accidents can happen, but communication and honesty matter. If someone had simply told me about the injury when I picked her up, I could have cared for it earlier and avoided additional irritation. I called the next morning to let them know what happened and was told I would receive a callback, but almost a week later, I still haven't heard anything. Please never get your dog groomed here. My Pomeranian has a specific coat, that should be kept long and never shaved. We brought him here two months ago and they did a wonderful job, so we returned expecting the same quality. This time, I only asked for a slight trim around his backside since I'm 9 months pregnant and others will be helping care for him--we wanted to avoid any hygiene issues. Instead, I received a call halfway through the appointment saying he was "super matted" (which he absolutely was not) and that they needed to use a 7 blade. I immediately called back and told them to stop everything. The phone connection was poor, but we made it clear we were on the way and to stop grooming. When we arrived, we discovered that part of his back had already been shaved--completely against what we had just requested. I left in tears. To make matters worse, the person I originally spoke with refused to come out and address the situation, leaving us to deal with a different employee. The entire experience was handled unprofessionally, and despite everything, we were still required to pay. Have had good experiences in the past with the owner grooming my dog, even though I read many negative reviews. I was fully supportive of this company and even left POSITIVE reviews. I always requested the owner - she does a wonderful job. She's the owner - I get it. She isn't always there, but I made it VERY well-known over and over that I was willing to schedule around her availability. Just tell me that you can't do it anymore - don't allow me to schedule to bring my dog with the intent of "training someone else to do it". That is not ok. Fast forward to today, I dropped by dog off at 10AM, thinking that the owner was going to do the groom, as always. Even confirmed when dropped her off because it's that important to me. I call around 12:30 to check in on progress (2 1/2 hours after drop off) because I have conference calls. Was told she was "bathed but that's it" and that the owner wasn't there and "was at the bank". Um, ok. Then, at 2PM I go because surely she's ready - four hours later, right? Wrong. She is STILL WET - been sitting in a cage wet at least since 12:30 (bc that is when they confirmed she had been bathed), possibly sitting there even longer - wet and NOT groomed. She now smells disgusting - like a wet dog because obviously. The owner was still nowhere to be found at 2:00. They tell me at 2PM that another groomer is going to groom her. Yeah, no. I specifically said I don't want that. How hard is this to understand? Then, I ask to just get my dog. Get this - they WOULD NOT GIVE ME MY DOG - until I got loud. The receptionist said I "verbally assaulted her" by demanding that they give me my dog. And then, she literally tried to charge me $113 for the BATH (keep in mind she is still wet - didn't even dry her). I was fuming at this point. Not happening. I finally got my dog after loudly demanding her (and yes I'd create a scene again) and left. I text the owner to ask what she actually wanted me to pay bc $113 isn't happening. She responds that I shouldn't yell at a 20-year old receptionist (the same 20-year old who wouldn't bring me my dog so that I could leave to get on conf calls). Anyway, long story short, she stinks and now we are on our way to a different groomer. DO NOT EVER BRING YOUR DOG TO DEE-O-GEE. They clearly ignore your preferences, are not timely, and have issues. Even the customer standing beside me said he "lost his mind" last month over a similar issue but decided to give them "one more chance". BEWARE. EDIT: Given Shawn's response: 1) Lack of responsibility for how poorly your business is run is exactly why you have terrible review after terrible review. The issue is YOU - not anyone else. 2) Yeah, I definitely was not "embarrassed". Train your employees to give people's pets back to them when requested. 3) LOL at being "banned" and a "maniac". Like I'd ever step foot back in your business. 4) LOL at "warning other groomers" - literally the groomer I went to TODAY said they have gotten SO MANY customers from you. I've been going here to bathe my dog with the self-serve tubs. I hate to admit, it is not what it used to be. Every time I go in, it almost feels like it's gotten worse and it's pretty obvious no one cleans the tubs after they're used either between washes or at closing. There is dog fur everywhere. On the ground, in tub, in the drains, on the walls, in the air vents, you name it it's there. You basically have to clean up after the person before you as well as yourself. This last time I visited, all the collars/harnesses to attach your dog to the tub were busted/couldn't be used. The handle had come off the tub ramp, so it wasn't as easy to use either. The water takes at least 2 minutes to get warm. Also noticed some mold-spots in the tub corners. There's also only one apron and it's also busted. Not able to use. Overall, not a lovely experience. Obviously I used it because it's simply all I knew. However, I don't recommend paying $22 for this. Pretty dumb. Pretty sad. I'll be looking for different places. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience at Dee-O-Gee Franklin and feel compelled to share, so others can make an informed decision. From the moment I scheduled the appointment for my dog, Davey, I made it explicitly clear that he was not to be sheared. I reiterated this again in person when I dropped him off. A technician mentioned there might be a need for minor de-matting (at an added cost), and I agreed--while explaining that I brush him daily and had already done so that morning. I was confident his coat didn't require anything drastic. When I picked him up a few hours later, I was horrified. He had been completely sheared--exactly what I said not to do. His grooming was uneven, his skin was visibly pink in areas, one eye looked irritated, and his ears were lopsided. No one called to consult me before making this decision. When I voiced my concerns, I received no apology, no offer of a refund (or even a partial one), and no accountability. Instead, I was charged the extra $100 for a service I very clearly declined. It will likely take months for Davey's coat to grow back, and unfortunately, I won't be trusting Dee-O-Gee Franklin with his care again. If you're particular about how your dog is handled, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I booked an appointment for Sat 12/20 @ 10 am for my lab to be groomed. Beforehand and more importantly the morning of my service, I received emails reminding me of my appointment. The jest of the reminder I received the morning of was to inform me of my appointment and that they have a very tight schedule so "issues" would not be accepted and a fee would be charged for cancellation or no show. I had no intention of either and was on my way. Nevertheless, I found the nature of the email a little off putting. It was 25 minutes from my house (50 minutes RT) so I called to let them know I was running 7-10 minutes late and they said it wasn't a problem. When I arrived to drop my dog off, I went through the services and explained that it was a 50 minute RT drive for me so I would like an estimated time to pick her up. The person was completely clueless and was unable to provide a time. I then explained that I had plans later that day and I would need my dog by 2:30 at the latest. She went to the back to check and came back saying it would be "No problem". By 2:30pm, I hadn't heard from them and called to leave a message. At 3:29 (5+ hours after I dropped my dog off), I received a text that my dog was ready. After picking her up, she was so agitated I had to take her to the Berry Farms dog park to run around and relieve herself. I then took her home where she immediately drank 3 full bowls of water. She was extremely dehydrated and this was completely out of character for her. I called Dee O Gee and after some questioning found out she had been in a crate for most of the day. They said that water was provided but I have no way of verifying this and I am fairly certain she was not given a potty break. I expressed my disappointment to the very unexperienced person on the phone and made a comment that a grooming should not take 5 hours and if they are so intent on have a tight appointment schedule, they should provide FREE doggy day care if they require more than 2 hours to groom a dog. On a positive note, my dog's grooming was good but I requested to have the manager call me. I let the person know that it was important if I ever was to return for a future grooming. My dog has never been in a crate and I was never told she would be. I would understand if I didn't pick her up but 5 hours for a grooming meant she probably spent up to 4 hours in a crate. I was told the manager would call me back no later than the next day (Sunday). No call back on Sunday even though they are open on Sundays. I called again on Monday, expressing my disappointment the way my dog was treated and was told the manager would call me back. I called again the next day and to this day (1/13/26), I have have not received a call back. While the grooming was decent, the way my dog was so poorly treated, the incompetence and lack of caring by the staff is reason enough for me to take my dog elsewhere. A note to the business: If you plan to keep a dog for 5 hours (which really shouldn't happen) advise the owner that the dog may be crated or give them the option of doggie day care. Honestly, I don't go to a scheduled appointment at the hair salon, where it takes anywhere near 5 hours and day care should have been provided complimentary if you are unable to keep your schedule. If the manager had cared enough to call back, I may have considered trying them again or recommending their services but it is obvious to me that they don't care and it is not somewhere I would want my dog cared for read more

The groomer did not listen to our request AND they clipped her nails down to the point that she was bleeding all over our house. The owners response to my review is purely false. My husband NEVER requested for our dogs nails to be trimmed down short he never even mentioned her nails. The one request we had for her haircut was for them NOT to shave the top of her snout and that is exactly what they did, they shaved it . What makes me even more upset is that they asked if we wanted to tip our groomer (which we did) before I even got to see our dog. The haircut is choppy, they didn't even give her a sanitary cut. After having to go out and purchase a kit to stop her bleeding because it's not one but two nails that were butchered!!! We definitely will not be returning to this facility. He also was there approximately 5hrs and 40ish min if you would like to be exact ;) - I took the photo at 4:26pm when I pulled in my driveway and he was dropped off at 10:34am. ALSO when you put me on hold (without putting it on actual hold) the customer checking out was not pleased with the cut their dog received either because you were explaining to him how it would grow back in about 2 weeks and would look much better! So instead of being a business owner who accepts when things are wrong you are clearly the type who puts it off on everyone else and therefore it's all of OUR faults as to why our dogs have issues once leaving YOUR place of business! I was accommodated due to the pregnancy of my dog. I was put in last moment and they exceed all my expectations, I unfortunately ran late but they were understanding and I was so greatful to be able to have kept my appointment, I was initially greeted with a warm welcome, by staff and owner. They groomed my dog relatively fast, faster than expected. It may not be like that all the time so I don't want to set an expectation. But for my FIRST experience it was fast. Not horrible expensive but dogs can be costly. The shop is well maintained, accurate and organized pricing and so many options from snacks, food, and clothing pretty much all your cat or dog needs! I highly recommend. 10/10. And will definitely plan to revisit as well. You all should too! read more

I called to inquire about some dog treats that I purchased from here that smelled RANCID and gave both of my dogs diarrhea (they have tried many different types of treats in the past and have never had a problem such as this.) The person I spoke with over the phone said there was nothing they could do about the treats and would not refund them if they were in date. This makes no sense to me and I do not appreciate how my concern was disregarded, nor addressed. 1 star is generous. 0 stars is what I would rate this groomer if 0 was an option. Took my mini golden doodle in for a groom and told the groomers how I would like the fur cut. But when I pick up my dog, she is completely buzzed. For context, we brush our dog multiple times a week and have invested in different styles brushes and fur product to battle any matting. This is our third Golden doodle and we are no strangers to this game of "matting" at your local pet groomers. It boils down to what's easiest for the groomers. Laziness... When we dropped our dog off at the groomers, we had asked to speak with the groomer cutting my dogs fur, but was not able to because she was busy at the time. Come to find out the groomer was on a smoke break so she could not meet with us. Unprofessional... When we told the front desk how we wanted the fur cut (even shared style pictures of a shaggy, longer hair doodle) the front desk never relayed the information to the groomer, even though she said she would. Lack of communication... I am no fan of a traditional doodle cut but if you are, this is a good place for you to be. What once was my shaggy 10 month old mini golden doodle is now a shaved seven year old. Our puppy is no longer a puppy. Although the manager of the store was nice enough to work with us on a price that we believed was fair and only charging us for the bath, and not the haircut. While speaking with the manager, who was trying to accommodate us, she said "the haircut is not that bad..." and then went on to defend the groomer who gave our dog the cut also saying "grooming is an art and the groomers know best". My issue with people like this is, if I'm paying you for a service, you will do it as I ask. Can you imagine going to a barbershop to get a haircut and you ask for a fade and the barber gives you a mohawk and then says " cutting hair is an artistic design, and I know best." Get lost... To summarize: There is a lack of communication and professionalism. Overall laziness to groom the way we asked. Lack of empathy for a wrongful grooming. Dee-o-Gee is amazing! In which way you ask? I will tell you that my dog is Murphys a 17 years old silkie. since he started to loose his sight do to cataracts,, he became anxious. He was rejected by over 6 groomers for snapping at them. We finally decided that he will have to be completely sedated which is not a good thing for a 17 year old dog. We also spend almost $400 dollars just to have him completely shaved. He looked like a shaved rat. But one day by accident I called Dee-O-Gee thinking it was another mobile service so one suggested. After apologizing I called back just curiously asking if they will give him a chance. An hour later Penny had him groomed. She work a miracle. No sedation or mussel . Truly a caring and experienced groomer. 5 stars service. read more

I would be remiss if I didn't start this review by saying that Dee O Gee did not provide great and friendly customer service to me at first. The owner, Shawn, responded to an inquiry very promptly and scheduled my dog for a groom + deshed the very next day. I made a very clear request to Shawn regarding my dog being put in a queue while sitting in a kennel without me there. He has significant separation anxiety and has never been in a scenario where he would be left in a foreign place for that long, much less in a kennel for that long. While I understand this is a normal practice, Shawn made it known that if I brought him in at exactly noon that he would be immediately tended to and it would not take more than 1.5 hrs, to which I agreed to the appt. I brought him in at 11:55 and was immediately told it would be 3+ hours before he would be finished and I had to walk him in to put him in the kennel. I would have also brought him in for the first available morning appt so that he would not have had to wait as long as he did today. I picked him up 3.5 hours later and put him in the back of my vehicle. When I get home to get him out there was a ton of dog hair all over the car and I am currently petting him grabbing handfuls of hair, even with the additional cost of the "de shedding" treatment I paid for. Overall the folks here are very kind and I'm sure took great care of my dog, but the results and the experience vs what I was promised will be enough of a deterrent to not be a recurring customer. Update: obviously this owner has a habit of attacking any customer that has an adverse experience with her business. My dog has been groomed by the same groomer on a 6-8 week schedule (depending on the time of year) for his entire life, only until I had moved to Franklin had I needed a new groomer. I had to go take my vehicle to a car wash and get it vacuumed out due to the hair left in the car AFTER his "3 hour groom". I want to first say I have never left a negative review ever in my life on someone's business. I'm a business owner too and know life and people are not perfect. However, today was wrong on all levels from this business. I have taken my dogs here over this past year. They started off great. The last few times my dogs were never like I wanted but I'm not a person that gets overly upset over my babies not being perfect. I was told of a VIP deal that is 25 dollars extra per dog and you can come in at 8:30 am and they only work on your dogs which supposedly gets them in and out quicker without being left in crate. Normally I drop them off at 9 and pick them up by noon. I hate them being crated so I went with the VIP. I dropped them off at 8:30 this morning and around 1 I called to ck on my babies. (Some VIP this is taking longer than regular grooming ) I was told they were about finished I could head that way. upon arriving I had to pay first before getting my dogs. I'm assuming it was the manager said to me " they have been working on your babies all morning non stop. You requested their hair stay long so they had to work to get nots out" I respond and said ok . If that was the case than ok I just wanted them to be like I asked. The girl taking my money (300 dollars) two dogs to get groomed went to get my dogs. when they hand them to me they were completely body shaved. She noticed my face and said would you like for me to get the manager and I said yes. I waited 5 min with two dogs and no one ever came to talk with me. Two main issues here ... one it don't take 5 hrs to body shave two dogs you guys normally do this in 3 hrs or less. So you ripped me off by making me pay 50 more dollars for a VIP grooming. Second thing is I asked for my dogs not to be body shaved. I left detail information about my dogs especially my standard poodle. For you to tell me they took longer to do because I wanted them left long and they took their time to get knots out and kept them long was a complete lie. You took their hair completely off. If that had to be done fine but don't lie to your customers. I can tolerate a lot but flat out lying and taken advantage of charging someone extra money for something you didn't do is a business not worth supporting. So I would highly recommend not supporting this business that is not truthful nor honorable to their customer. read more

I brought my service dog in for a cleaning. When asked what food I gave him I told the owner Science Diet. She proceeded to inform me that my food choice was insufficient for my dog's health. This is obviously incorrect as my food choice is provided by and used by one of the most renowned service animal training facilities in the country. Pet dietitian or not, I can guarantee that an organization putting $60,000 into every dog is not feeding them unhealthy food. I came for grooming, not unwanted judgy opinions. read more

I'd give them less than one star, if Yelp would allow. They didn't follow instructions on grooming our Bernadoodle and they called our Westie "feisty" - he's never been feisty a day in his life. Watching the staff, they don't appear to be animal lovers. We tried this place because it's close by, but we will go back to The Farm at Natchez from now on. Nope, not going back here for sure. read more
