First off, this place warehouses dogs that they claim they are "rescuing" from area shelters. They keep them in crap conditions with no actual game plan to adopt them. This is what the staff told me and my experience mirrors this. Second, the place smells like urine every time you walk in. Third, if you board your dog, they'll come home with worms, diarrhea, as well as the bag of treats you left for your dog that they didn't bother to give them. We left our dogs with them for three weeks in May 2023. They both came back emaciated, bitten by other dogs, and without having had their medications. They didn't even have the energy to jump up onto our couch when they returned home. The staff there lied to us about their level of exercise. (none, they were kept in their crates and had no muscle mass left), and their medication schedule (they came back to us with far more medication left then should be over a three week stay). Our veterinarian confirmed that they had been abused and neglected. It was wonderful when Charlie ran it, but now, I would avoid them at all costs. Beware, central Tennessee friends. read more

Since my last review, an employee of Waggy Tails sent out an email to everyone in their database. See attached picture. Allegedly, they have been hitting and mistreating dogs, along with a rat infestation that get's in everybody's stuff. I was contacted by someone in the email chain I was included on and told they are starting a police investigation into these allegations. I would be very wary, especially given the experience I had with my dog being attacked and the lies that followed. We have taken our dog there almost since it opened for day care once or twice a week to run around and enjoy being off a leash outside. This review isn't about how my dog used to come home fully pooped from running around all day and now he doesn't (do they crate them more than they used to?). This review isn't about how last week how my Kennel Cough vaccinated dog contracted Canine Flu, we spent a few hundred dollars at the vet for meds, or how the steroids are causing him to pee all over the house in the middle of the night, coughing constantly for the last 5 days, the 104+ fever, etc. This review is about how when the vet staff came out to my car the first question was, "Has he been to Waggy Tails?". So I came home and checked my emails for a notification from Waggy Tails. Nope. Checked spam folder. Nothing. My vet said they lost a dog to it a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes its not just Kennel Cough. Other day cares are shutting down for a few days, deep cleaning, and NOTIFYING pet owners. This review is because Waggy Tails did nothing to alert me about the outbreak. Do they really care about your dog? Absolutely not. read more

This used to be a really great place until the entire staff turned over in early 2022. After our dog was bit causing 12 stitches to her ear during play (it happens), the staff treated us with indifference and irritation when we asked questions to ensure safety. For example, we were expressly told that while the aggressor dog that bit our dog would be allowed to continue to come to Waggy Tails, he would not be allowed to socialize with others. When we saw a picture of the aggressor dog playing with others on the same day our dog was at day care, we naturally asked the staff why the aggressor dog was allowed to play with other dogs. After a bit of stammering, we were told that "(aggressors dog name) is only playing with specific dogs and won't be around your dog." As we know the aggressor dog's owner is a "very close friend" of the owner of Waggy Tails, it didn't take a detective to see what was happening. We received a text message (not a call) while our dog was in day care that she would no longer be welcome at their facility because they felt we would never be satisfied with them. Our dog was attacked on March 7, 2022 and we asked about the aggressor dog playing with others (in direct contradiction to what we were told) on June 9, 2022. We received the text message on July 6, 2022 and it was both cold and vague. After several calls and text messages, we never received a straight answer as to why our dog was now banished because we asked questions - valid ones - about the continued safety of our pet. We've asked multiple times to speak with the owner but have always been told by the manager that "he prefers I deal with these things." As a business owner myself, I can't fathom running a business this way. It's clear to us that the owner prioritizes friendship over safety. They loved our dog and her temperament to the point they often used her to help new ones socialize. However, that didn't matter when we asked questions about ensuring a safe environment for all dogs to play. Again, we understand and accept that little nips and cuts happen when pups play. Our dog's ear was ripped (yes, ripped) apart causing 12 stitches and never healed properly. I share this to underscore why we felt the need to ask questions when we saw the aggressor dog playing with others at the facility. So, if you're a friend of the owner, you'll probably have a great experience. If not, your mileage may vary. To be clear, the ONLY reason I'm writing this review is to warn others that they should ask some hard questions before leaving your fur baby here - especially knowing that allow dog with a documented history of aggressive violence to play with other dogs. We are glad to be taking our business elsewhere. read more

This place is dishonest and shows no real concern for your dogs. We boarded our dog here and she came back with open scratches and dirty and smelled like she had been peed on and not helped. The night we bribing her home we noticed she was coughing and suspected that she had kennel cough. When I called to ask if any other dogs had tested positive, she said yes but that "my dog probably wasn't around that dog" and said that my dog could have gotten it from me driving with my windows down at a stoplight. When I said that they should've told me that another dog had tested positive at pickup or before that, the lady on the phone was incredibly snarky and rude and blamed me for my dog getting kennel cough from there. I am new in town and have never boarded my little 7 pound senior chihuahua with anyone I didn't know. In a pinch I found Waggy Tails, what a blessing!!! She was right up front with the other senior dogs so she was always supervised and mostly cuddled! I called to check on her and was reassured she was doing great. Recently I was looking for a recommendation on where to board our dog for the first time and Waggy Tails was mentioned. Long story short, we boarded with them and our dog came down with Coccidia, which can be fatal. It ended up costing us almost $1,200.00 in vet bills to get her well. Without going into detail, she picked this up at their business because she wasn't being supervised as they said she would be. Our dog had not been with any other dogs or outside of our backyard during the time in which she would have picked this up. I contacted Waggy Tails and was asked to send over copies of the initial vet bill, which I did. Today I finally spoke with the owner of Waggy Tails and he quickly and rudely told me that this wasn't his fault, that he wasn't going to talk to me about it and proceeded to hang up on me. If I'd read a review like this when I was looking for a recommendation it would have been a HARD PASS. It's not only the negligence but the unprofessionalism that an owner would speak to a client the way he did. I'm happy for anyone who's had a good experience with Waggy Tails but we didn't. read more

My experience with awful. My dog had never been boarded before. I chose Waggy Tails because they had a geriatric section for the older dogs. When touring the place before dropping off my dog I was shown that my dog would be in the front lobby area with the other older dogs. My pup stayed at the facility for 7 days. When I dropped my dog off he was happy and running around excited to be with this other pup that was in the geriatric area. When I picked him up he could not even stand and was terribly dehydrated and covered in urine and his bed was also saturated with urine. He was also not in the geriatric section. I was told they decided to close that area mid stay. I asked staff what happened and how long he has been this way and the staff said. "Nothing is wrong, he is just tired" We carried my dog out to the car and took him straight to the vet. He ended up being in kidney failure and extremely dehydrated. I understand that kidney failure doesn't happen overnight but it was the lack of attention to my dog to notice that something was wrong so I could get him to the vet. He ended up having to be put to sleep that evening. When I called to speak to the owner all she could say was that they took very good care of him and nothing was wrong with him. If I dropped my kid off a a daycare and he ran in and then picked him up and he couldn't walk and was covered in urine would that be good care? They refunded my money but never once acted sorry that this happened. I guess the place is under new ownership so beware. read more

Our puppy, Blaze, did not have a great experience here. It was our first time boarding him. We boarded him for 5 days over Fall Break. Staff was very courteous and friendly, but when we picked him up, he was extremely scared and not himself. He now cowers. Not to mention he also smelled horribly of urine as if he spent time laying in it for several days. The smell was so bad that we had to roll the windows down for the entire ride home and even after washing him twice, he still faintly smelled of it and his white fur was stained yellow. Also, there were several places (both back paws, tail) that it was evident that they cut his fur off (I did not pay for a grooming package), but never mentioned anything to us about this or why this was done. I can only imagine his long hair got caught in something and he got hurt but we were never informed. This is completely unacceptable. In addition, like a previous poster mentioned, he came back with almost 50% of the food I sent him with, which means he was not being fed appropriately. I don't know if they became overbooked due to fall break, but I am truly disappointed and will not be back. read more

Had my husky boarded for 5 nights with a grooming package. I do understand when you pick up your dog they will act a little off after boarding*. When I picked her up she still had blue shampoo all over her leg, and little to no brush out and every nail (the ones higher up on the leg not the paw itself) not cut or grind down. So the grooming package was a waste of money. The whole time she was acting so weird I felt like I didn't recognize her. Then I get home and notice she now has fleas/ticks as I'm trying to wash the rest of the shampoo off and also notice she has bruising on her lip and some type of wound on her leg so bad it was bulging out and had dried blood all over it and sensitive to the touch. To make matters worse, the amount of food I left her with was the amount I picked up, so I don't know if she even ate either. Also being quoted 35 for the first dog and 30 for the rest sounded great until pick up when the price magically changed to 40 for the first, 35 for the second and 30 for anymore after that. AND finally one of the dogs we left there (my moms) had the exact same injury on her dogs leg as mine. Me and my family will never be back and from this being my first experience leaving my dog with a company of any sorts, I will never do it again after this. read more

We love Waggy Tails! Charlie and his team clearly love the dogs like their own! Our dog, Sophie (6 months old), has the best time there for Doggy Day Care. She comes home happy and wiped out from playing all day, and it is very nice for us to have some time where we can relax because she is so calm! We feel so lucky to have found them! We haven't boarded her here yet, but our experience with Doggy Day Care has been so positive that we both feel at ease boarding her with them the next time we go out of town. waggy tails used to be fantastic with a great staff who genuinely cared for the dogs. then, some out of towners decided to buy the failing boarding kennel and somehow managed to run it further into the ground. kennel cough constantly goes around and half the dogs get sick and the owners do nothing about it - don't even warn people that there is a breakout going on. my dog has come home covered in feces before as if he had just been sitting in it for hours. Multiple dogs have been injured and a few have even died in their care because they take on too many dogs and don't have enough staff (and the staff they do have do not have any experience or training with animals). one of the owners was fired from her previous job at a dog boarding/kennel for reasons that should have stopped her from being able to open her own business. the new owners have stiffed employees on their paychecks, which isn't surprising considering they also haven't paid their building rent in months. along with the new ownership seems to have come an entire new staff as well. so sad to see this wonderful business turned into garbage by incompetent owners. read more
