A solid restaurant for something to feed you at reasonable pricing. Great for dining in and to-go. I personally enjoy their mixed kababs with rice and hummus (comes with pita bread). Other honorable mentions: philly cheese subs (both beef and chicken, depending on your preference), beef kabab wrap, crispy chicken burger, and you must absolutely get their fries to share (or not to share, whatever floats your boat). Honestly, haven't had any issues with any of their entrees. Just a tip that fries actually are crispier if you dine-in instead of taking to-go. They also have catering service, which is great for when hosting for my Muslims friends and knowing everything I order from Busy Boy's are halal. I haven't tried their crepes but my friends love it here and always recommend it. There was a time over the Summer when I would randomly find hair but I realized it's one of the workers who kept scratching his head with food-prepped gloves. Haven't had any issues lately since then but just a headsup. I've been coming here for years and it's really a good option if you want food that doesn't take forever, halal, and just laid back atmosphere. I was at the family house on that side of town for a good part of last week helping a family member convalesce and we were in the mood for Mediterranean food and I came across them and thought I'd give it a shot. They really seem to have a wide assortment of other foods too so I guess they're a one stop shop with something for every taste bud but I was sick of grocery store rotisserie chicken and want some kabobs and got that. My husband and I plan our dates around an alphabet letter and then surprise each other with our plans. It was his turn to plan and he had the letter "B". Walk up to the counter, order and wait a few minutes. Not as quick as a Chipotle or Halal Guys but delicious! I ordered the gryro plate on rice. It's just one size and it's humongous, I had leftovers the next day. It would be nice to have a smaller size option for those that don't eat as much but it's not a huge deal. Everything was well-packaged and labeled. The falafel panini was just the right amount for lunch, and my coworkers were happy with their choices as well. The sauce on the panini was garlicky and accompanied the falafel well. The diced tomatoes, cucumbers, and purple cabbage were crunchy and fresh. We've been driving past here for a bit and never stopped...wanting to try something different we got take out today... Amazing! The shawarma in both chicken and beef had a great flavor and the portions on the plates were great! The rice was light and fluffy and the garlic sauce is amazing! My son ordered the chili cheese fries and ended up eating most of my wife's chicken plate. This never happens as he's really picky! This place is good! If you're going to eat here, go for paninis or sandwiches. Crispy chicken panini: Avoid crispy chicken as the meat was barely there, coating was too thick. Mixed kabob plate: Kabob chunks had little to no flavor. Rice tasted old but warmed up in the pan. Certain pieces were hard and crispy. Sauces are good. I enjoy their grilled chicken panini and their fries are always well made. I've heard philly cheese steaks are great too. Wings looked dry on another customer's plate. read more

The second time, a side of hummus (or I thought was just one side. I ended up paying for two because he must've misunderstood me.), kids chicken tenders with crinkle fries, a gyro with seasoned crinkle fries, and baklava. I loved it all! Delicious sandwiches and extremely friendly service. Surprisingly diverse menu from Mediterranean to American. Their meats are all Halal and generously portioned along with being high quality. We tried a variety of sandwiches including the famed crispy chicken sandwich, Philly cheesesteak, and mushroom Swiss burger and a few sides. Sandwiches were cut in half to make it easier to share! Crispy Chicken sandwich- 3/5 Really expected to like this more as I love a good crispy chicken sandwich from basically anywhere! However ours had very little sauce in the sandwich and the chicken patty was over cooked and chewy. Did have some skimpy lettuce and a tiny tomato slice. Disappointing start. The Philly cheesesteak--5/5 Nice sauce. Tons of peppers and hoagie bread was nice and toasted. The steak was tender and seasoned very well. This is quite a large sandwich. Mushroom Swiss-5/5 Patty was clearly house made, seasoned nicely and of a good thickness. Cheese and mushrooms were sufficiently portioned. Each bite of this burger was a delight. Not overly greasy either. Fries--3/5 Regular crinkle cut and not crispy. Nothing memorable here. Hummus-4/5 Served w thin pita bread. Nice flavor and very creamy. Side Greek Salad-4/5 Pretty good! Decided to try out this BusyBoy location after having gone to the Hilcroft location for years. This new location in Richmond was mediocre at best. I got the mushroom Swiss burger combo and I requested that BBQ sauce be added. Very little bbq sauce was added to my burger and the whole thing was drenched in mayonnaise. The burger and fries came to me lukewarm instead of fresh and hot, which was odd because they cook everything right in front of you. The taste of the patty itself was okay, nothing too exciting. After food, I also got a mango milkshake. It was very bitter and didn't taste good at all. It seems like they just blended the mango ice cream with milk and served it, without adding any additional sugar which is how usually the mango shakes I've gotten are made. I tried my sisters shawarma plate and that tasted way better than the food that I received. The place itself was nice, but social distancing was not enforced at all. People were eating so close to each other, it made me uncomfortable. There was also not much seating there to begin with. I don't know if I'll be back again. read more

Been here for takeout three times now. We have ordered from the store for takeout and placed to-go orders via the phone. The items do take awhile to make and put together, so I would recommend ordering ahead of time, if possible. We waited inside the store,out of line, after ordering for about 15 min - 20 min, and while not super crowded, it was uncomfortable for us to hover to wait for food during Covid times. We have gotten the schwarma plates each time (both beef and chicken, with rice and hummus). You are given one pita cut up into four pieces for your schwarma plate, which goes with the hummus, I assume? And not the schwarma itself? The amount of food given in each takeout box varies by the person serving it....and there does not seem to be a consistent size or taste to the seasoning. All of the times the food has been good, but it did taste different two of the three times we went - saltier and spicier. The sauces are great and add a lot of flavor to the dish, but can be overpowering if you are not used to the sauces. The kids liked the pita bread and the rice pilaf sides. They do have a variety of other foods, including desserts, to try out, but we have not had those yet. Perhaps soon! read more

Update: I have now been back at least 15 times. I love this joint. The Shawarma was worth the wait from my first visit. I have tried half of the menu at this point. I am SHOCKED at how good the non-mediterranean offerings are, I would never expect to have such good sandwiches at a med joint. Break out stars so far - Shawarma plates and wraps, Kafta Kebab, grilled chicken sandwiches and a dang good cheese burger. OG Review: We came during the soft opening, late on a Friday night. I was disappointed to find they were out of shawarma for the night. The drink machine was out of ice...not of to a good start...but the service was prompt and friendly. So I compromised and got a falafel wrap with humus. My wife got gyro with tabouli. I was pleased, the falafel is fresh and flavorful. I love their garlic sauce! The Tabouli is bright with a fresh lemon hit as your would expect. But the break out star for me is the Humus, humus is so hard to get right because there are so many different ways and ratios to mix chick pea, tahini, garlic and lemon. But they have this down, it's real tasty. One caveat was I wish it had an oil drizzle. My wife's gyro was delicious, like really good. My only problem with it is I love the crew over at Papa Gyros down the street and I am nervous to see a g of such competitive quality in their area. So I recommend Busy Boy , so far it seems really good. I plan to make my way through most of the menu especially the shawarma and kebab plates they all look so yummy, but my gyros will still come from Papa Gyros.....because they have a rap video about gyros. I was surprised to see it in the Katy-Richmond area and decided to have a go in it because I love halal/mediterranean food. Let me tell you- they have some of the best halal rice dishes I've ever had. Their sauce is A1 and so is there meat. They're a bit more expensive then I'm used to but that is ok because it was so tasty! They also have a fried chicken dish that was spectacular. They are still under a soft opening, but overall excellent service and delicious food. They are apparently known for great burgers. They're in the old Urban Bricks spot and the interior is almost exactly the same, including the brick ovens which they utilize. Here's what we had: Crispy chicken waffle 5/5 - my youngest ordered this as his meal, and I had a bite of the chicken. It was really good. Crispy and not greasy, very flavorful. Junior burger 4/5 - I was not overly hungry, so I decided on the jr burger. The flavor was good, and I could tell that they use fresh meat as opposed to a frozen patty. However this junior version of the burger was lacking in toppings. It was literally just meat, cheese and ketchup on a bun. Had I known that I probably would have ordered a full size burger. The fries are the crinkle cut kind, which I'm not a huge fan of. Falafel wrap 5/5 - my husband had this and raved about it from the moment he took his first bite. It's a huge portion - he only ate half and took the other half home and ate it 2 days later, still raving about how good it was. He said the flavor of the falafel was delicious, and the sauce they use in it complemented the wrap nicely. Baba ganoush 5/5 - delicious. Texture was good and the flavor was great. Akawi Cheese Pie 5/5 - this is delicious if you're a cheese lover. It's basically melted cheese (I think 3 kinds) on top of pita bread. This is a cheese lover's dream Chocolate crepe 5/5 - a chocolate lover's dream. The crepe didn't have any filling from what I could tell (we got the basic one) but they did not skimp on the chocolate sauces drizzled on top. Plenty of milk, dark and white chocolate sauce. All the proteins were well seasoned and tender. The side veggies were very tasty. But I wish there were a little more onion rings. The garlic sauce and red hot sauce were really additive.
