I have my daughter in many activities and this experience was best in class with Jeff & Chris @ Maximum Scuba. They made it fun, educational and still got across the seriousness and importance of the key aspects of scuba diving. They had students performing all kinds of skills over and above what is required solely to help them learn and build confidence to face whatever they may while diving. With me as an experienced diver, they let me stay with her the entire time in the pool and participate in whatever I wanted. They could not have been more accommodating to me if they tried and it meant a lot. Unfortunately in today's society finding really good experiences can be hit or miss based on the folks passion and commitment to providing a memorable experience. THEN he charged me another $30 to send it UPS Ground (which appears to be $10 on UPS web page). He says the rest is his handling fee (Really? First you refuse to have it drop shipped, then charge me $20 to simply forward the mask that is already boxed in the shipping box it arrived in. Some seriously heavy lifiting, I guess, as it must weigh at least 6-8 oz!)

My instructor has been on at least 300 Diving Excursions and was very welcoming!! You don't have to be an experienced driver or a Olympic swimmer just have an open mind about the process. The instructor on the other hand, was unfocused, unwilling to get into the water, belittled us every chance he got, and learned nothing from him but to relax. There were moments where he left a class of nine students to teach a overlapping swim lesson... for an hour. This is just one instance where he left us unattended. The only reason we passed was a student was getting her certification and she was knowledgeable in the water. I wish no one this abominable experience, unless they train some new instructors and made sure that they did their job well instead of taking a back seat.

Even though it was quite dark by the time we made it to the bat bridge, we were able to see them fluttering against the twilight sky. It was such a calming journey back in the dark, with lights on our boats and the twinkling skyline of Houston in the backdrop. My arms, neck, and back are in so much pain the day after but it was well worth the trip and the effort!
