From being extremely knowledgeable, to extremely patient! Very kind, humble and a sense of openness, to even the most unlikely questions that we had, from just being curious and new at scuba.... Very flexible with our schedules, from meeting with us for the first time, to pool time. Once we had signed up with ASU, we started our PADi online course. Once all the chapters and tests were completed the "second" phase of pool "hands-on training" started. We met with Adam at an amazing indoor pool facility. Went over all safety checks, equipment, signals, etc... We did several days of pool exercises, learned everything from safety, our equipment (BCD, Mask, Computer, etc), how to clear our mask underwater, buoyancy, assisting your "buddy" in case of an emergency, equalizing (hardest to overcome for me), pressures, etc... Adam really is the best instructor we could have ever asked for! He worked really hard until we understood what he was teaching/showing us and over all until we accomplished what we needed to learn. Safety is top priority for him. We also, bought all of our equipment from Adam. FYI - don't call your MASK, goggles!!!

This past Sunday, I accidentally ordered the wrong size weight pockets and dropped them a line asking that they please call me, because of my mistake. I received a call the next day, Monday, letting me know that they had already found the weight pockets I needed, even though they weren't listed on their site, and they could have them sent out that same day. Here it is Thursday morning and my weight pockets have arrived, as well as stickers and lollipops. I look forward to purchasing more gear from Woodlands Dive Center in the future.

We are in our 70's and are going on a snorkeling trip in the USVI. We had had a previous not so…read moresuccessful snorkeling experience in the Galapagos and wanted to truly enjoy it this time. Beatrix was so sweet and understanding and encouraging, giving us advice about safety and signs to use to signal if there is an issue like leg cramps. She checked our new equipment and gave us advice about them. After two fun lessons, we feel confident in the water thanks to Beatrix.

Aiar did a wonderful job explaining options in fixing part that malfunctioned, and also pointed out the really old aging part of octopus, that would need to be replaced very soon. The skills are practiced on land and in the water they are both very thorough and make sure you are comfortable before moving on with the training. They will answer questions about gear and recommend the best fit for you. However I never felt pressured to buy any gear since the gear is included with the training. I asked about places to dive with while travelling to Mexico and honduras and got some excellent recommendations. These guys are laid back and i would recommend this shop to anyone who is looking to get certified.

Finally made it out to Blue Lagoon in Huntsville, Texas. Vis was 10-15ft due to recent rain. 68° at…read morethe surface and 64° bottom temp at 25ft. They have an underwater rope course you can use to navigate from one side to the other. The waters color and clarity come from its origin. It was originally a Limestone Rock Quarry. Spring water has filled it up making this a good dive location. Another feature I found to be very cool for instructors is the large underwater decks. These are part of the course and make a great place to perform dive skills without disturbing the silt on the bottom. My dive site had an easy entry and exit. The depth ranges depending on the amount of rain throughout the year. This is a great place to teach new students, practice your skills, or train as a dive team. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Being this was my first time here they answered all of my questions.

The term BLUE lagoon is misleading. 3. I understand that this is primarily a scuba diving place. But the attitude in phone calls and the employees was like you were second class Citizen if you were a "swimmer". Finally, I was the only one there! I guess $30 is way too much for what you get here. During my swim, I noticed scuba lessons taking place nearby. The buoys and entry ramps could benefit from an upgrade or repairs. The changing booths are not very reliable, so it's recommended to change in your car or truck post-swim. There is a hose available for rinsing off after your swim. While there are nice picnic tables, there are no designated secure areas to leave your belongings while in the water, so it's best to keep all valuables in your vehicle. Overall, a pleasant location for a swim.
