He is courteous, a thorough communicator, and VERY medically knowledgeable about vision care and the physiology of vision. He knows many ophthalmologists and provides referrals to excellent providers when appropriate. His staff is professional, very competent, and courteous. Although Bayside accepts several medical insurance options, including Medicare, they are not a good source for cut-rate glasses or quickie eyeglass exams. They have too much invested in knowledge of the consequences to patients resulting from incomplete, inferior work. Prior to retirement, I worked in the eyecare field for 30+ years. I have seen a wide range in quality of practitioners & offices, so I feel qualified to provide a valid review of Bayside and Dr. Lang.

The exam itself was uneventful and I was checking out and they told me I had met my deductible for the year and only owed $40.00. I paid the $40.00 without any dispute and left. It was on a Friday and they close at 3:00. I went home and looked on my evidence of coverage and it clearly stated that my eye exams were fully covered for $0.00. I waited till they opened today and called. The person answering the phone informed me that they found out Friday that they shouldn't have charged me. They did not call me on Friday or today to tell me they made a mistake. I was told they would have a Dr. refund my payment when they came in. The receptionist was rude and disrespectful and never once apologized for the mistake. She was unprofessional and rude. I told her that I was going to find a different Dr for next years exam, and she said that was a good idea, and hung up. I called back to speak to the office manager and got a recording. I left a voicemail asking for someone to call me back and didn't hear from them till 2:40 this afternoon. I spoke to Dr. Eugenides who seemed defensive from the start. I told him what I was told by the person who I spoke to earlier and he said he would check with them. He also looked up my insurance info and personally told me I should not have been charged. He also said that patients are not always truthful when they don't like what they are told. I continued to tell him that I was told by their employee , I wasn't making anything up. He got increasingly agitated and began yelling at me through the phone. He continued to cut me off in mid sentence and wouldn't let me explain what happened. I was never given a copy of my prescription for lenses. If you are looking for a reasonable Eye Dr. I would definitely not recommend K & K Eye Center in Englewood.
