HORRIBLE!! I had a really frustrating experience here. When I went to pick up my contacts, they told me I hadn't paid when I had. After checking, they realized I did pay, but never apologized. They also gave me the wrong contacts (someone else's order) and then acted like it was my responsibility to fix it, telling me to bring them back because "she needs them." The staff came off dismissive and made it feel like everything was my fault.Overall, very unprofessional service and no accountability. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I lost a screw on my favorite sunglasses and tried to fix them myself. Not easy... I stopped by Eyeglass Maxx on my way to Target and talked with Virginia and left my glasses for 30 minutes and shopped at Target. Made an appointment for an eye exam. They made me give my credit card information over the phone and stressed the need for me to be on time and show up or I would be charged anyway. Appointment was at 10am. I arrived early and found that they open at 10. No problem. Went in at 10. Was ignored for 10 minutes. Given paperwork to fill out. After waiting 45 more minutes I told them I had waited long enough and was leaving. Eye doctor came out and berated me. Very unprofessional. read more

Service was excellent and Vicki who took care of me was so knowledgeable, and personable that I ended up buying two pairs of readers and a noline bifocal with transition lenses which are perfect. I'm also restricted to driving with them and just moved to Fla, so didn't have an eye doctor yet. I chose Eyeglass Maxx Venice based on the excellent reviews online and couldn't be happier. I called ahead to confirm I could get glasses made the same day and wasn't able to arrive before 1:00. From the moment Virginia answered my call until 2 hours later when I walked out the door, I was treated as a valued, longtime customer. I had a coupon I found online, but Jamey gave me options that saved me more money than using the coupon. My glasses were ready in under 90 minutes and I love them! Jamey is knowledgeable, kind, customer service oriented and ensured everything I was "fussy" about was in place. I have not had good experience with same day glasses in the past and shared that with him, but my glasses are as perfect as the ones I've paid quadruple the price for at my eye doctor's office in another state. My husband bought a pair of glasses here in January or February of this year and the arm broke on the glasses. He went there today to get them repaired and was told they can't be fixed he would have to by a new pair of glasses. This is crazy not to give at least a year warranty or repair. So my suggestion would be to not purchase anything here because when they break you will be out is luck. read more

I can never get ahold of them! I work 8-5 I've tried calling them, left a message over 2 months ago and never received a call back. Very frustrating since I have to try and call on my lunch hour. I wish they'd extend their hours for those that work 8-5 so we can get my issue resolved. At first they were great, but then didn't seem to want to be bothered by me. Customer service is the best. I live in North Port and loved the ease of going to their North Port office. I was a bit concerned when they closed and I had to go to Port Charlotte. Nothing to worry about. The friendly service was still there, the displays were larger with more glasses to choose from. The prices are great, but I will return because of the customer service. You can't beat someone going out of their way at 5 p.m. to take care of two pairs of glasses for you. One of which you couldn't leave because you needed them to drive. On March 11, 2022 I stopped at EYEGLASSMAXX in Venice. I had my eyes examined at Center for Sight. I had my paperwork as I walked into the store. Delio tried to talk me into bi-focals. He told me that my over the counter readers were no good even though my doctor at Center for Sight thought they were fine. It was very difficult trying to tell Delio what I wanted. I told him I could take my paperwork someplace else. At that point he listened to me. I called on a Saturday to check on the glasses I had ordered from Delio. Saturday the store is opened from 10-3. I called about noon to talk with anyone. The message stated that the phone was only for out going calls. Very frustrating. I put the charge for the glasses in dispute with my credit card company. Delio called me on Friday telling me the glasses are ready. He told me that the store is not open on Saturday or Sunday. That is a lie. My glasses came from a store up north; the nose pads really needed adjustment. Not only did they do what was necessary, but they replaced the nose pads as well---all. for. FREE!! My wife and I went in to get an eye exam and purchase glasses. The doctor I had no problem with. The woman taking care of my wife and I to pick the glasses all of a sudden had the cost up to a thousand dollars for two pairs of glasses and the eye exams. I told them I'd get my glasses somewhere else. I paid for my wife's two pairs, which totaled almost 800.00, and over 100.00 for the exams. They acted like they did me a huge favor and knocked a few dollars off. I asked how she arrived at that cost compared to what they advertise, and was not given a logical answer. It was a shakedown. I suggest you try somewhere else. I've been told that Sam's Club, Walmart, and Costco are much better options where you won't be ripped off. read more

The only reason I'd even give two stars is because the doctor got the actual prescription correct. I only went there because I had a coupon and he didn't honor it, made up some extra charges. His own nurse said I had the coupon and he told her, no charge her for this. I could tell she wanted to give me what I deserved, the price we agreed upon before the service was done. Then all of a sudden it changed. Also paid this huge extra amount and he gave me uneven amounts of contacts, much less for one eye, that's just dumb. Like selling someone one sock. I then call to see if he will change my prescription to color, I haven't even used it yet so obviously it hasn't been that long because I was given a lower amount for one eye. He wants me to go and pay him all of this money for no reason at all. So please someone tell me how to keep people from getting away with this, we are America and it's way more of us then them I'm sick of it. Broke off the arm of my eyeglasses. I wear progressives and thought I would have to buy new lenses and frames. Went in to Eyeglass Maxx on Friday and showed the broken glasses to Jamey. Since they are frameless glasses, Jamey picked out a suitable frame for me and said he could put my lenses into the frames! To top it off, he gave me a discount on the frames and said if I wanted to wait he would put them in for me! I walked down to Big Lots and went back about 20 minutes later and they were done.
