The oldest pool in Texas with spring-fed water keeping water temps around 68 degrees year-round. There is so much history surrounding the pool and its land. In the 1850s a Swedish immigrant built a house on the land (approximately 39 acres). In 1902 the Deep Eddy Resort was opened by his kids. Cottages, camping, and so much more. Over the centuries it changed hands and was purchased by City of Austin. After being destroyed by flooding, it was completely rebuilt. I like that there is a separate pool for lap swimming. Plenty of grass areas for blankets, towels, relaxing when out of the water. Upper level has tables for eating. The pools and grounds are immaculate making for comfortable and pleasurable swimming and relaxing. Kiosks for payment to enter or cash at the front desk. Can also download an app and purchase as well (easiest option). Only $5 for residents. Parking is tricky. The lot is SMALL. We always opt to park a couple of streets over and walk.

Was all set to go to Barton Springs today (Thursday) only to realize it's closed on Thursdays! So, Deep Eddy pool to the rescue! I've not been to any of Austin's swimming holes or public pools and after reading some reviews online I was a bit skeptical for what I'd encounter at Deep Eddy but I was pleasantly surprised! The parking lot is definitely NOT big and I can see how on a weekend it would be a nightmare for parking but at 10am on a Thursday, I was able to find a spot in the lot with no issue. Kiosks at the end of the parking lot are NOT for parking (I thought they were) but rather for tickets to enter the pool. You have to use the kiosks if you're using card, $5 for adult residents (you can pay with cash at the entry but must have exact change). The pool itself was clear and blue (not what I expected after reading reviews) and there is a specific area for lane swimming/laps. Lifeguards are stationed around the pool which is great. The only issue I had was with seating/lounging. There definitely aren't many options but there are spots on the small "hill" to lay out a sheet or towel. Shade and sun were open when I went. Overall, I thought this was a great pool option if you're looking for one! I can absolutely understand how parking could be a nightmare but if you go early on a weekday, enjoy without issue!

Love it! Showers are great, water's cold and nice! The staff is nice and the people are too.

Brought my nephew here to bake in the Texas heat. The water was very refreshing. Natural spring water and huge pool. Half of the pool you can do laps whereas the other half is shallow with a zero entry section. It was free entry the day we went which made it even sweeter! Would bring multiple towels or a blanket to lay on the dead grass and a large sun hat next time. Also never have seen so many people sun tan with their body spread out like a starfish! Do you need to tan your goodies? Lol

Deep eddy is a great public pool alternative to Barton Springs. Pretty expansive pool that is great for kids and plenty of seating. Unlike Barton, Deep Eddy has a slope from 0 to 4 ft. of water on one end and lap pool / 8ft deep end on the other side. Went on a Sunday morning around 11:00 and really wasn't crowded at all. Plenty of places to lay out in the sun or shade. The filters didn't seem to be working a whole lot as there was a lot of debris and bits in the water, but it was not bad. Very clean on the lap pool side. A great summer activity!

really fun place, lots of room to lay a towel down and relax also! If you're below a certain age and come without a parent, you have to do a quick swim test in front of a lifeguard but it's simple and pretty easy. The only thing I didn't like about Deep Eddy Pool is that if you get snacks/food or anything at the concession stand, you have to get enough to pay at least $5 or $7 of food or something like that, so you can't just get one thing. However, Deep Eddy Pool is a really fun place and I totally recommend going with some friends this summer!

The deep eddy pool is a fun place to get really really cold on a really hot summer day. Don't bring sugar drinks or snacks because the ants will try to eat it plus, they don't allow it except upstairs. Take a look at the murals at the far end of the pool it's amazing. I love the tiny details that are in that mural, if you want a way to cool down and by the way, parking is very hard to come by if you're interested in getting a parking space close to the entrance you might have to do alseveral circles around the parking lot

Monday evening at 7pm, not many people, face mask required at entry. The water is cold at first but once you're used to it it's totally an enjoyment! Plus, it's free!

It's a pretty big park, offering several different landscapes and activities. Great for families and outings with friends. The city views were beautiful. The forest and springs had that cooling effect that made the hot sun bearable. The springs were cold but very refreshing once fully submerged. A little too cold for my water loving 2 yr old. He also didn't like the green algae but still enjoyed the experience. Warning: VERY SLIPPERY in the springs and uneven rocky trails in some areas. Have water shoes if you don't like to be barefoot. The bottom of the springs swimming section feels smooth; slippery with some uneven dips. We stayed on the approved 4ft or less side for my kid's life vest. Bring a float or rent a canoe to enjoy the deeper waters. Pro:There are several ADA ramps we could have used for the stroller. As 1st time visitors we took some risky chances trekking down rocky slopes and too many stairs that wasn't necessary. Find the ramps. Con: Multiple entrances and parking. We were almost defeated by the parking situation on a Saturday early afternoon (1pm). We drove around over an hour looking for a spot in the many parking lots closer to the swimming pool section. With so many entries and people barely leaving it was a constant flow of new cars swooping in forcing us into lot loops. So close to turning back, we kept following the water trail and figure there had to be another way to the water! Bingo we parked on the other side of swimming section and took the 12 min walk directly through the fields to the pool area. If you're like us you'll drive around the parking lots so much you'll learn the landscapes. Must pay for parking. We got a ticket after following the advice that there are no parking fees on the weekend. Don't listen just pay the hourly rate parking fees. Swimming Pool Fee: There is a minimum fee associated with entering the springs. Fees are tiered by age and residence. As non-residents we only paid $13 ($9 adult/$4 young kid). Veterans are free, no ticket, must show VA ID. Reasonable fees for the amenities, especially the life guards and bathrooms. Downloading the app is easier and faster than standing in line at the credit card kiosks. The teller windows are a little faster but, cash only, We were pleasantly excited to also take advantage of the playground and train ride. Super cute. 2 year old loved both. Highly recommended for visitors who like to explore, be in nature and community, and stay cool.

What an interesting experience in 2026...rules rules rules!…read more I don't remember a lot of these limitations but I honestly think they're great: no speakers, only 16.9 fl oz water bottles, no gum or food, cash only except if you pay at the kiosk (still only $5). There was a man walking around politely policing everyone and it was really cool how he was doing it -- super friendly and respectful. I was there on a weekday and it was super crowded. The lifeguards were absolutely on top of their duties and that was super reassuring. They're doing everything they can to preserve the culture and atmosphere and it is super obvious. The water is cold...enjoy! But after a 15 minute doggy paddle or float, you'll feel the mystical healing properties of this majestical pool. I promise. My biggest headache was the kiosks and parking: the kiosks were having a hard time connecting to the network and two of the three actually shut down as well as parking being free but no postings or signage showing that it was.

This is totally my favorite city pool short of Deep Eddy and Barton Springs. I drop by here after work quite a bit for a swim, its only 3 dollars and never crowded. The lap lanes are almost always empty and the diving board is the shiznit. I'm baffled that there seems to be so few people here at all times given its location. Its near the ACC and Crockett campuses and you'd think it would be over ran with children. The real eye-catcher here is that the pool always seems to be extremely clean. City pools arent known for the cleanliness generally so color me impressed. There also tons of life guards so .. while I dont have children if I did I'd totally feel comfortable setting them loose on the pool while I read a book. Speaking of reading books I spend about half my time here laying on serape under a tree reading and its an amazing experience. The sounds of a few children playing in the park. The occasional splash of the pool as someone leaps from the diving board. I cant say enough good things about Garrison Pool and I'm sure if you check it out you will feel the same way.

From day one, his attention to detail, communication, and craftsmanship were outstanding. Before we received the final contract, Nate spent months with us on the design, going back and forth on every detail and with extreme patience. He was able to provide accurate pricing on all the additions and changes. When we would ask for something he would explain WHY it can or cannot be done. Every step of the process was handled with professionalism and care, and it is clear he takes immense pride in his work. What stood out the most, though, was his character. He's honest, dependable, and truly cares about doing things the right way. In an industry where that isn't always guaranteed, working with someone who leads with integrity made the entire experience stress-free and genuinely enjoyable. Nate has a degree in civil engineering from A&M and is able to explain the physics of why we might not want to do something we think we want to do. We were wanting a special feature for the pool and Nate said we could do it as long as it was done a certain way. We pushed back and he gently provided the justification and engineering evidence to support his stance. We are so glad he talked us down from making a potential thousands of dollars mistake and he handled it with patience, care and understanding. He consistently went above and beyond, caught things we never would have noticed, and made sure everything was done to the highest standard. It was a total slam dunk from start to finish. If you're considering building a pool, I would recommend Athena Pools without hesitation. He didn't just build us a pool -- he created a space our family will enjoy for years to come. They always answered our questions and provided good, workable suggestions. There is a lot to installing a pool: there are many variables, lots of special skills needed and an artist's vision of what the result will be. They have very high quality subs that showed up when they said would, a welcome change from other subs we had for other purposes. Occasionally we would ask a question of a sub or one of Westbank's crew about an issue we had. If they didn't provide a confident answer, we got a call that evening from one of the principals, Travis or Armando, who would provide that exact response we needed. We are very confident in recommending Westbank. They get very high marks from us in all facets of pool installation.
