    The blob
    Connie F.

We came here for a birthday party, and it was about $27 each (including tax) for unlimited access to the blob, stand up paddle boards, and 1 hour of the inflatable obstacle course. I did not think this was worth the price. If you decide to do this, I would highly recommend wearing shorts and water shoes because the inflatable obstacle course was super hot and dry and tons of people had their skin peeling off when they went down the slides. It would be awesome if the obstacle course could be sprayed down every 30 minutes or something so there wasn't so much friction/the soles of your feet didn't feel like they were burning off. They only had one set of stairs to get out of the water (they were near the blob), and the stairs were super broken. Decided to pay the extra $40 (not including tax) for wake boarding ($25 for 2 hours, $15 for helmet/board/life jacket rental). It was my first time seeing wake boarding with just cables. This was totally worth the price!! It was a lot of our first times trying and we all managed to stand and wakeboard all the way across the lake on the beginner course. The staff member controlling the cables gave good tips. Some of our friends went to the advanced course as well! Kind of concerned about the age/wear of the equipment though, because the rope just completely snapped the first time one of our friends tried, and a staff member said she noticed the rope fraying earlier and was wondering how many more uses they could get out of it. They had shady areas with benches. You can bring your own food and drinks. They also have a food truck with burgers/hot dogs/chicken and waffles and shaved ice, but service was pretty slow. They had showers in the bathroom. You drive up a dirt/gravel road for about 5 minutes to get in. Plenty of parking. The staff members were friendly!

Quest Waterpark and Wakeboarding is a lot of fun and quite the workout! I've been 2 times and really enjoy the obstacle course. That's actually the only thing we did this time. Some of the inflatables could use a little more air but you'll have a great time. They also have a giant slide and wakeboarding that you hold on to the cables above the water. No reservations needed and it's better and more affordable than the course on Lake Travis.

If you haven't been out to Quest ATX you need to get out there ASAP! This is one of the most fun cable parks I've ever been too! Take all of you friends and family and let the wonderful staff teach you how to wakeboard, or hang out on the blob or NEW waterpark!! You won't be disappointed!

Awesome place to go with the family + your dogs! The staff is so friendly! Cute picnic area where you can hang out and watch your friends/family wakeboard. They were building the huge slide when we were there buts its complete now so we will definitely be back to try it!

Everyone in Austin needs to go here. Such a great water park, with such a great staff, at very reasonable prices. It's about a 20 min drive outside of town, down a dirt road - look for the business sign. It's a cable wakeboarding Park, and the staff is very helpful and great teachers. They can get you up on the board in one or two tries even if you've never wakeboarded. They also have a blob, a giant water slide, and a water obstacle course. For a full day pass on all the activities, plus all the gear rentals - $60! Unbeatable for some good clean fun. You can also bring drinks or food, and they serve a few there as well. Would really recommend to the business marketing it to bachelor parties, maybe get a food truck out there on Saturdays. Would love to see them excel out there!

Friendly for kids of all ages with different sections offering slides, a lazy river, wave pool, and experiences for all age groups. My daughters (ages 7 and 3) particularly loved the kids slide section and the wave pool. I did see quite a few dead bugs and leaves in the lazy river and wave pool which was a little off putting. They have lockers to store belongings, as well as clean bathrooms and changing rooms onsite. They also offer a variety of food choices which are pretty good & reasonably priced. Very few crowds if you arrive right at opening time. I was happy to see there were no lines at all for the slides. They open a half hour early for season pass members; general admission is 11am. Definitely worth checking out for a day of family fun in the hot TX summer!

The woman at customer service looked like a deer caught in inheadlights, when asked about the passes. Then refused to give them to us. Then changed her mind and gave us each 1. It was only good for 1 ride. We were supposed to go back to the customer service booth after each ride. The first ride, had no idea what to do with the passes. When we went back for the next ride, the refused us a second time, and only gave us 2. We told them to keep them. I've been to many amusement and watermarks, with my neices ( I have 2 both ironically are fully autistic. ) I live in Illinois and visiting. I would not recommend this for anyone with autistic children or family members. It's the least accommodating place I've ever been.

Even our bracelets printed at the same time from the kiosk. The room was spacious and clean, located halfway down the hallway, which we loved because we avoided the elevator traffic noise. The food was very pricey and pretty basic. Once we ate, we headed to the park, which was an experience! The lazy river was a nice pace and the temperature was perfect. The rides were lots of fun and the lines weren't long at all. We also explored the adults only area, which was the cherry on top. It was quiet and the drinks were excellent. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating and disorganized. Our point of contact was Jeselle Corpuz. For over a month, we were repeatedly told by Jeselle they were "working on our group rate," yet they still expected our group to commit to staying there without knowing the actual cost. We would receive emails at the end of the business day with no new information -- only that they were still working on it. Keep in mind, this was coming from the manager of group sales. We emailed several times and rarely received responses. We also left multiple voice messages and never received callbacks. We even contacted corporate, only to be referred back to the same person who had been unhelpful throughout the process. Communication was slow, unclear, and lacked professionalism. After waiting weeks with no concrete answers, we finally decided to move our troop's trip elsewhere. We ended up booking another waterpark, reserving a different hotel, and even adding another group activity -- all with far better customer service and much quicker responses. It was especially disappointing because our Girl Scouts voted for this as their end-of-year trip. We were prepared to bring not only the girls, but also their families -- which would have meant a very large group and significant business for Kalahari. Unfortunately, the lack of competence, communication, and ability to provide even basic information made it impossible to move forward. In my 10 years of planning end-of-year troop trips, this is the first time we have been unable to give the girls the trip they requested and voted on. Over the years, we've successfully planned trips to Great Wolf Lodge, Epic Waters, Jellystone, SeaWorld, the Fort Worth Zoo, NASA, Moody Gardens, and many other destinations, and we have never experienced such a frustrating and poorly managed booking process as we did with Kalahari.

Let me preface by saying I never write bad reviews. But for safety reasons I had to write this one,…read moreand if you don't have time to read it all let me just start by saying please just go literally anywhere else for your child's safety. So first of all, there are 4 larger water slides. And probably 3 or so smaller ones. They have a total of 2 lifeguards on watch. One lifeguard sits at a chair "watching over" the smaller, right side of the park. And the other one switching between the top of the larger water slides every so often depending on which is busier. There are multiple lifeguards but only 2 out on the park floor at a time, all very young teenagers. Not a single adult working there. I think that is a huge problem in itself but let me go on. I watched my 4 yr old like a hawk the whole time we were there because the lifeguards obviously weren't paying attention, lots of older kids running around, etc. I watch my son go down the larger slide. I'm waiting at the bottom for him for 5 minutes. Still hasn't came out. I go to the top to look down the slide where there should've been a lifeguard but no one to be found. I go to the lifeguard sitting in the chair at the front and tell him that my 4 yr old went down and has not came out yet and I think he's stuck in the slide. He ARGUES WITH ME and says "no I've been watching and there's no one in the slide" UMMMM WHAT?!! Obviously realizing they could care less about my child or any children there, and I don't have time to argue because I'm worried about my 4 yr old, I rush back to the top of the slide and go down it and what do u know, my son was stuck in the middle of the pitch black loop of the slide, terrified and crying. This is totally unacceptable, I don't even have words. Hopefully that's enough to let you know this is not the place to go but if not, let me move on to my next complaint. There was a group of older kids constantly trying to climb up the larger water slides in the back that no one can see unless you walk back there. Which in the 3 hours I was there not one lifeguard walked back there or even glanced to check on anything. The first time I notified the lifeguard about the kids going up the slide, she went back there and told them that's not allowed. Then they kept doing it and multiple other parents complained as well. The second time I complained that they were still doing it and almost seriously injured my 4 yr old, the lifeguard said "oh I know I already told them to stop". Ummmm okay??? So you're just going to keep letting them do it putting all the other kids at danger?? At MINIMUM their parent should've been notified but in my opinion they should've been asked to leave after the 3rd complaint/telling them to stop. Honestly I could go on and on but I don't have all day. I truly just hope they increase the amount of lifeguards and hire experienced lifeguards that actually care about children's safety and at minimum have one adult employee on-site.

We had a dedicated area with two picnic tables. Lots of kids there that day. Lots of chloramines in the air. My biggest complaint. Chloramines are chlorine that has bonded with organic matter and chloramine gas is released. It does not indicate cleanliness. That cannot be judged by smell but smell does indicate no free chlorine is available to sanitize. The odor was intense. It burned your eyes. It stayed on your clothes and hair afterward. The entire drive back home to DFW I was smelling chloramine and I never got wet. Anyway. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Birthday boy loved it. His friends loved it. We didn't get in the water. We were being checked on frequently by staff. The water wasn't deep anywhere that I saw. You could see the kids easily. Slides and lots of typical splash pad things. It was a nice little place. The only complaint was the strong smell. We didn't buy food there so I can't speak to that. Overall it was a nice indoor splash park so despite the intense smell, I'm giving 3 stars.

Skip to the last two paragraphs for comments on the wildest firework show I've ever seen…read more I took my 4-year-old son for the evening fireworks event on Friday, July 3. He is exactly 42" tall, so he was eligible to ride three of the four big slides, but he was content to simply play on the pirate ship for toddlers, which he enjoyed very much. We didn't enter the restaurant or try the food truck but we were happy to find a little snow cone vendor. Then we waded in the lake briefly before watching the fireworks from the beach. This is not a corporate water park like some of the others in the Austin area -- if that's what you want or expect, look elsewhere. If you want to take a beautiful drive out to Lake Travis and enjoy some time swimming on a little lakefront beach and perhaps riding a few waterslides, playing volleyball, eating at the restaurant, then this place might be more your speed. It's clearly been around for a while and it's not 100% cosmetically perfect, but for a small, locally-owned place, it's about as well maintained as you could expect, and the sunset is pretty great! Our only interaction with the staff was at the front gate, but they were super kind to us. Four stars overall. Really, my only complaints were with other guests -- it felt a little crowded due to the holiday, and wherever we sat, neighbors would soon claim a nearby spot and begin smoking or playing music from a wireless speaker with lyrics that I don't want my young kid repeating (a racial slur, specifically). Maybe this is already against park policy, and if so, it's partially on me for not reporting it. The firework show itself was good overall, but there was a brief moment that felt absolutely crazy. A few minutes in, what seemed like dozens of fireworks exploded almost simultaneously and very close to the ground, if not on the ground itself. It seemed like a chain-reaction / feedback loop. We were at a safe distance on the beach, but I can imagine it would have been frightening for people floating on the water near the launch site. When it ended, there was a small fire burning near the launch site, although it seemed like it was contained quickly by a single person. Meanwhile, fireworks continued from other launch sites. We stayed only 10 minutes more, and could still see fireworks from the car as we drove away. I wonder whether anyone else who attended had a better sense of what happened, or if the owners could share more information to clear the air? These things sometimes happen at firework shows I'm not suggesting that anything could have been done to avoid it. But personally, I would find it reassuring if there was a statement providing more information.

The major, and I mean major things was it was not crowded! Which was a huge relief for spring break and the crowds we dealt with every where else we went. The second MAJOR plus! The food was actually really good! You don't hear that much about amusement parks! If the family says they would eat it served anywhere else, then it's good! I recommend the family pack with food! Ok so value wise, you can look at it in two ways. The perks could outweigh the seeming thought of overpaying. It's waaaaaay cheaper than seaworld, or six flags. I can see it being worth more value if the water park section was opened. For right now, the fact the kiddos and even the misses could ride all day, and no long lines, make this a win for us. There are no token to buy, just all day wristbands. Yes the video games for the most part are dated. It's also not a huge park. There are four major rides outside. My family said the rollercoaster was a lot more violent and faster than they thought it would be. They were split whether they liked it or not. They also all loved the go kart attraction. We almost missed a small section in the inside towards the back. They had a bungee trampoline, a small rock wall, and a flight simulator! The family all enjoyed the flight simulator! It made for lots of laughs. They did have a playground and ball area for the smaller kids which we did not explore. Again, this is not a major theme park, but more like a light version with less crowds! We are coming back! The only negatives for us, the distance from where we live, the dated video game rides, and the water park being closed. It's not crazy cheap, but not crazy expensive. Hope that makes sense. It's almost like it was worth it to us because we were already driving back into town. That's pretty much it...
