When you walk in the office you are greeted warmly and they have a large waiting area with ample seating that is accessible. They do require appointments ahead of time, so waiting is minimal. SECAH have up-to-date technology and the ability to handle all of your pet's needs. From the moment I called inquiring about their services and whether or not they could take on my dog Bruno, the staff was so nice, professional, and gave me great information. Even during this recent ice storm, SECAH was right on it, ensuring that pet owners like myself had access to necessary medication and care for my dog. Dr. Farris and her team were so patient with my Bruno, who is a very energetic Goldendoodle. Amanda was helpful in getting all the prescriptions together and making sure I understood everything Bruno needed. It's always nice to get that type of service. Brought my cat in after calling around to many vets even his own and couldn't get an appointment…read more All the staff was very welcoming and attentive as we were new clients. My cat seemed to have respiratory distress and they provided antibiotics and even new food recommendations for the betterment of my pet. I was given thorough instructions for my cat, Chaz, and information on everything that was done and allowed to help when needed. I appreciate their care and welcoming personality and highly recommend them!!

I was absolutely blown away by the customer service and care Dr. Wood provided. Many vets in the area are drop off appointments only and you don't even have a chance to speak to the vet in person - not here. For all 3 visits I was able to be present with my puppy and the vet while he did his exams and gave vaccinations. He was so informative and kind. I also had an upcoming vacation planned to drive to Alaska, they went above and beyond by calling the veterinary medical board to make sure I would have all of the proper paperwork to bring Willow along with me. I don't think i'll be taking my animals anywhere else again. I can't thank Dr. Wood and his team enough, they really set the standards high for proper care, 5 stars isn't enough.

Dr. Magnotta was her first vet and she was great! Ver compassionate and took very good care of Millie. But she left not long ago and I was nervous who would be Millie's next vet there. Shep, our other fur baby began his visit there and Dr. Barker (ha ha) was his vet. She was just as awesome! Shep is older (black lab, about 15-16 yrs) and has trouble with his back legs so we needed to find a solution to help alleviate his pain. He wouldn't go up and down the stairs at home nor the ramp we built for the back deck. Anyway Dr. barker started him in Adequin shots and I swear Shep was a whole new dog! So now Mille and Shep both see Dr. barker and I'd recommend her to anyone looking for a vet. Bottom line, the staff at Guilford Jamestown is wonderful and compassionate people and we will continue to make them our primary vet!!

Being new to the area with a sick pup is no fun. My healthy 11 lb poodle had a small lump on his neck that the doctor claimed they couldn't feel, and that lump has now grown to the size of a small pea. Meanwhile, my sick pup just finished antibiotics. Instead of doing a urinalysis at the clinic, they sent me home to catch the sample myself with the explicit understanding that they would run it immediately so I could get more medicine if needed.When I went back to drop off the sample, I explicitly asked to speak to a technician. Instead, the front desk worker, Diana, intercepted the conversation. She was entirely uninformed and completely misquoted the pricing and turnaround times. It wasn't until I pushed the issue that she actually went back to ask a tech, proving her original information was totally wrong.I called back today to see if they would honor a prescription refill without another exam. While I knew it was a long shot, I figured it was worth asking for my pet's unresolved issue. Instead of just giving a professional answer, Diana used it as an opportunity to argue and defensively bring up past office incidents.Fabricated Notes: To make a bad situation worse, she went into my official account records and wrote a completely untrue, defensive summary of our call, which she then sent to me. It is terrifying that a front desk worker can fabricate a false paper trail to cover up her own bad attitude.I left feeling incredibly frustrated and completely let down. The doctors might mean well, but the front desk is the face of the business. Diana's misinformation, terrible attitude, and false logging completely ruined my trust. I have already escalated this entire mess to the manager, the doctor, and their corporate headquarters (PetVet Care Centers). Save yourself the headache and take your pets elsewhere. She asked me before finish the call to email her the records 09/04/26-DDM 7/20/2026 C DDM About the urine test in house 07/20/26 - CLOSED Aug 04/2026 O came this afternoon and asked me how long usually the labs take to be run. I answered her around 3 to 4 bussiness days to hear something from us and she inmediatly started to said nobody told her about it when she asked for the urine to be runned in house. When she told me that I let her know then it will be run in house and she asked me if there was any charge for it because again, nobody told her she will need to pay something else. I told her I will verify with the technician or KDD if they told her that or was a misscommunication. She also said that KDD sent to her to ER and she was not able to afford anything else and KDD should told her about the price so she will prefer to run it with the ER instead of us. KDD told me it wasn't true and we will be able to run it in house and results will come back today but at the end of the day and ofcourse was a charge she will need to pay. She Said she works in the healthcare field and she nows how everything work and that we have the option to get everything done rightaway for her. ESA got involved at that point explaining to her that yes, we will be able to run the urine in house and will be ready today but will take until the end of the day to get the report from the doctor because we were having patients here. She was mean and in a bad actitude and answered back to ESA she needs this urgent and asked her if she would be able to get antibiotics by the end of the day as well from us. ESA answered to her yes, but as soon as I told her how much would be for the 2 urine samples to be runned, she got mad and said she will do it for less at the ER. Opportunistic overcharging business warning- Mount Tabor animal Hospital Winston-Salem, NC…read more While this office provides good medical care, be warned: their pricing is anywhere from double to 1,000% higher than other local clinics. It is deeply disappointing to see a veterinary practice take such financial advantage of pet owners. My puppy was taken in due to the regular vet being closed for the day after her spay procedure opened in two places, explicitly asking for staples to be replaced and antibiotics given. Without my consent, they removed and replaced all of her prior closures entirely. While the medical work was done well, they charged me double the cost of the entire original spay procedure just to close the wound ($500). They even tried to charge me for an e-collar, despite her being dropped off wearing one. In another instance, they charged me well over $2,000 for a procedure to remove two tumors. When the cancer unfortunately recurred, my new vet performed three tumor removals for just $250 total. After taking my dogs here for years, switching to a new vet opened my eyes. I learned this office had been pushing unnecessary care, like a Bordetella vaccine for dogs that are never boarded, and even trying to pressure my mother into a livestock-contact vaccine her dog didn't need. This business has clearly shifted its motivation from animal care to extreme profit margins. Please shop around and do a cost comparison before bringing your pets here. Shame on you for taking advantage of people who just want to care for their animals.

When I questioned AFAH about this, they said it was due to rising costs/inflation. However, our old vet is still charging the same as always and so is Chewy.com. They refused to buy these back from us and also sent an invoice in the mail for a urinalysis which we had already paid for. Needless to say, we won't be getting the medication from them anymore.

I would give Scott Mortenson and this clinic a 0 star rating if it was an option. Scott is an…read moreabsolute disgrace to the animal care profession and his lack of care for truly sick animals defies belief. His lack of professionalism as a care professional is unlike anything I have ever encountered both with animal care, and in general professionalism. I am convinced that if it was not for the higher end pet store forcing new pet owners to visit Garden Creek Pets for evaluations after purchase, this facility would be out of business. In short, I purchased a Siberian Husky puppy from the location mentioned above, and as required, brought the puppy to Scott Mortenson to have her checked up on, multiple exams, vaccinations, etc. The puppy was very sick early on and despite never deviating from Mr. Mortenson's instructions in the slightest, the poor puppy never improved. I made every accommodation for this puppy and to fit her in to Scott Mortenson's schedule. I took time off of work, I worked with friends and family for transportation, I did everything possible to make sure this puppy had care. On two occasions, I found that Mr. Mortenson did NOT even examine the poor dog. He simply changed her diet around and for lack of a better term, "threw" her back out the door. Nevertheless I was charged for these visits. He would also fail to return phone calls or provide any information about helping the poor dog. After a few weeks (maybe even months), Scott Mortenson gave up on the puppy that was entrusted to his care. He literally told me on the phone "I don't know whats wrong with her." In the later statements Mr. Mortenson basically instructed me to take the puppy somewhere else. Not once had I ever caused a scene, raised my voice, or caused Mr. Mortenson any other kind of grief, and yet, I was being told to take my animal somewhere else because he didn't feel like "dealing" with her anymore. Being absolutely dumbfounded by this response and his lack of care for this poor dog, I did simply that. I took my suffering puppy to another vet close by. This veterinarian was absolutely phenomenal and took the Siberian Husky puppy under very personal care. Within two weeks, and this time only a few hundred dollars, the puppy was restored to health and her stomach able to properly digest food. After weeks (maybe even months) of working this this incompetent, ignorant, and arrogant veterinarian, my young dog was finally able to start enjoying life. No thanks to Scott Mortenson, who disregarded her, lacked in care for her, and disregarded her. If you truly care for your animal's well being, keep them away from Garden Creek Pet Clinic and Scott Mortenson.
