He is not even 3 and knows all the continents. We loved how they did so many activities and went to park whenever weather permitted. My son was speech delayed initially but now exceeds his age, all thanks to the support Neeta ji has provided. Neetaji and her helper teachers have helped with our son's special needs in a way I don't even trust my parents to do (search for Epidermolysis Bullosa, it's intense). They never made us or our son feel different in any way. We moved away from Sunnyvale to San Jose 10months ago and have commuted everyday for 2h only so that we could drop our son at her place. We couldn't have been more thankful to Neetaji for all the love and care she provides to the kids.

She listens to the children, recognizes what they need, and takes care of them like they are her own. Mama Thinn has become like another grandmother for our girls, and they love her! There have been anywhere between 3-7 children over this period, she kept her doors open for our "bubble" throughout covid without any issues of us getting sick, and she has one helper who is there when she has more than 4 kids or has to take a day for personal reasons (very rare). Some of our better friends have come from the other families whose kids were there with ours, and our girls' best friends are the other kids they grew up with at mama Thinn's. Mama Thinn keeps an extremely clean house and cooks delicious food... both our girls rave about her food. She also does a wonderful job helping them to grow, learn, and be good friends with each other. Mama Thinn keeps a good schedule for the kids with plenty of play time, nap time after lunch, and a fun front garden and back play area. The girls learned to sing, dance, play, share, be patient, be kind, be gentle with friends, and even learned some numbers, spelling, etc (not rigid, but as fun learning time) between 6mos and 4 years old. Our oldest daughter went through potty training and mama Thinn was a great partner in the process (very important to communicate well and to get good reinforcement and learning both at home and at day care!). Mama Thinn also speaks several languages and takes time to teach the kids. We are white and don't know any Asian languages, yet our daughters learned to understand both english and mandarin from mama Thinn. We have even picked up phrases here and there and appreciate our girls getting to learn another culture, language, and cuisine (delicious Burmese food!). As a word of caution, we have seen some families who push the bounds -- trying to get Mama Thinn to taker care of their kids when they are obviously sick, trying to stretch the hours beyond her standard times, trying to bargain rates, bringing kids to day care without doing much of anything to get them ready in the morning, expecting pictures and reports throughout the day. If this sounds like you, then go look elsewhere. Childcare may be a commodity some places, but Mama Thinn's love and care for children is not something to haggle over. Her rates and hours are up front, and she is not your personal nanny. She is not your stand-in parent, but rather can be a partner in parenting & helping your children grow well. We have learned so much by listening to her as well, having honest conversations, being respectful, and trusting the wisdom she has amassed by raising something like 100+ kids over the last 20-30 years in her own home. We're constantly hearing stories of other kids who are in their late teens or 20s who are still in the area and still keep in touch with mama Thinn and are so grateful for her care when they were younger. When we were looking for an in-home daycare in 2018, we found mama Thinn, and her rates were somewhat mid-pack or even on the less expensive side for the bay area. I haven't shopped around recently but I'm guessing they're still similar relative to other options. After years of her daycare, I couldn't possibly think of getting better care or a "better deal". Everyone has their own set point I guess, but I personally recommend finding the care provider you are most comfortable with and not worrying about what the rate is if you can afford it. Finally, I believe that Yelp has the wrong contact info for Mama Thinn. The number may still connect, but her official contact number is 909-286-0099 (posted here with her permission). The kids have ample play space in the back yard. The artificial grass brings perkiness and makes it safer for small children to play. The children were very well behaved, friendly and curious. Thinn-Thinn was very knowledgeable and clearly experienced with children. The reason I have given her a lower rating and chosen not to work with her is due to a cultural offense. I am a single, black tech professional. She asked me if I was on section 8 or if I qualified for 'assistance'. She made it clear that she's willing to takes assistance (even though I explained to her that I'm 100% certain I have never qualified for assistance nor inquired about it). She warned me of her fees multiple times which she obviously thought I could not afford. I'm sure she didn't mean to be offensive which actually makes it worse, thus highlighting her lack of exposure to nontraditional families (divorced, single by choice, etc) and black people in general. A daycare should acknowledge and respects all types of families and ethnic backgrounds. While I would love my child to learn Mandarin and really liked her daycare otherwise, I do not want my child to feel alienated as he grows older due to exposure to this sort of limited thinking. It's 2012 folks, no one should be surprised at the sight of a single/ divorced parent or a black person of means. Again, I stress that she is a kind woman who clearly knows what she is doing so this issue won't affect most but this was a major deal breaker for me.

When he first started at age 1, he couldn't even walk. Now at 3.5, he is running, talking in 3 languages (Mandarin, Cantonese & English), cackling and such a happy little boy. As the first time parent, we didn't have much knowledge in terms of raising child, plus both my husband and myself have a busy working schedule. Theresa and Sharon treated him with patience and I've seen many times when we picked him up, they were holding his hands and teaching him how to walk. In couple of months after he started at Theresa's, he could walk by himself (and we didn't teach him at home). Later on he also learned the numbers, 26 letters, share toys with others, got potty trained, etc. In the morning when weather is good, they usually take the kids to the nearby park to get some exercise and sunshine. She's so happy, loves school, loves her teachers and they are very accommodating with our/her requests (etc w/ food, naps, outdoor time etc). They've been really reasonable and responsible when it's come to sicknesses, health related issues etc. It's always so clean too! And they're very respectful of the parent's time, changes in schedules, etc. I love Amber :) and Jessie (who runs the entire set of daycares that they have). They go above and beyond, the arts & crafts are so cute. They have such creative activities & little field trips around the neighborhood. I'm so impressed with how above & beyond they go. My daughter has also excelled language wise. Her Chinese is better than mine (when we went back to Taiwan, all my relatives were so impressed - she has no accent, even though I have one and my husband doesn't speak).
