The staff at School of Rock have amazing abilities when it comes to the performances they are able to elicit from the kids. I imagine that trying to coordinate a group of 10-17 year olds into a cohesive band must be akin to herding cats, but School of Rock clearly has some good tricks up their sleeve. School of Rock has been the one positive, steady thing that has kept our son afloat during the pandemic. His experience there has greatly improved his self-confidence and we've seen a huge advancement of his abilities in less than a year. School of Rock is a wonderful community of musicians that really know how to support and encourage kids. They meet kids on their level and work with what they've got.

First of all, I called to enquire about music lessons 4 months ago and finally, they called me back one month ago! I believed that I had set up 3 trial voice lessons for my daughter starting today, dates booked in, teacher info received - they took my credit card details, the dates and times were confirmed over the phone, and I put them in my diary. Today we showed up and there was no lesson - the answer? 'Oh, I'm sorry, we're very backed up, you're one of the new people aren't you'. 'Oh, I see you here in the folder that I haven't got to you yet (4 weeks later) and we've given your slot away to someone else'. This is on top of the enquiry I made about cello lessons for my son. That enquiry took 3 weeks to respond to. They left me a voicemail, I got back immediately and left them a voicemail then....nothing, another 2 weeks to get a response from that call. After a couple of mumbled apologies today, I left furious having taken time out of my day to get my daughter there on time for something that was confirmed one month ago. This business doesn't deserve any success, if you can even call it a business.

My words will never be able to express how wonderful Music Together of Boulder is and that is because of Miss Laura. Her class has been not only both my children's (started as babies and now 3yo) favorite extracurricular class but mine too! Each week has a whole new set of music, new instruments to try out, new props (parachutes, drumsticks, maracas, huge drums, balls, etc, etc) all that go so thoughtfully with the music. Miss Laura is a ROCKSTAR too - she brings in all sorts of cool instruments and plays them, from the mini harp to guitar to piano and some instruments I have never seen before. She is so sweet with the children too and has held my baby and danced with him so I could dance with my toddler. She is famous in our house and when my toddler hears someone singing beautifully, she lights up and says "that's Miss Laura!" - The whole entire program is great...the songs are all catchy, you get an app to play them at home, there is a book with the music too if you can read that. The families that attend are so great too and I have met great new friends from this class that I now see outside of class. Again, I wish I could write better but please just trust me that this is the best class for your kiddos in Boulder!
