I absolutely love the outdoor music class on Saturdays with chase! He's very engaging, fun and makes learning music easy and exciting for the kids! I highly recommend this music class. Took my son here for the first time this morning and he had a blast! So happy we found these toddler music classes! Can't wait to go back!

Cello & violin & bubbles, oh my! Unlike other music classes my tot and I have been to, these instructors incorporate real instruments in almost all the songs and activities. They know how to play them and the toddlers get to touch the instruments and strings. Movement and props are involved in the songs. Also unique to this studio is having drop-in or discounted pre-pay options to participate (my distance is a 25 min commute). Maureen's classes are phenomenal. My daughter loves going each week and its even more fabulous that Maureen doesn't force her to sit still. She can wander around and listen while she moves. Maureen definitely has some good ground rules for kiddos and parents, but it is so helpful to have my daughter feel comfortable enough to explore the room beyond her mamas lap. Maureen is also extremely patient and understanding. With a strong-willed child, I was worried about taking my kiddo to a set class but its been fantastic all around. I recommend it 100%! My daughter loves going to music class! She's been attending since she was 9 weeks old and her eyes light up when we get there. Maureen does a great job engaging the babies and she seems to have a never ending repertoire of songs and instruments! Maureen always remembers each babies name and is always so enthusiastic to see them each week. Upon arrival, we discovered the studio is in Maureen's house which at first threw us off, but once inside we were both very impressed by the professionalism, set up, and talent of the instructor. My daughter and I first tried the toddler music class because I got a deal on Living Social. She enjoyed the class and I am glad to get back into going again after not being able to fit it into our schedule for a few months. Maureen is great with the kids (she always remembers their names!), keeps things fresh with a some new songs and instruments but doesn't give up the few songs kids really love like bubbles and the parachute. My daughter (23mos) loves being able to play the instruments during the Hello and Goodbye songs. As she is getting older and more comfortable she participates more and has a blast. I also like being able to pay online and reserve a spot in a class so I don't have to worry about whether or not there will be space, and the classes are a good size for toddlers. Maureen is doing her birthday party in a few weeks and i know my daughter will love it! read more

Our son has been going to music classes at Altitunes since he first learned to sit on his own, he is now in the toddler class. Since the first time we went, our son LOVED these classes. He loves dancing to the music and gets to play some of the instruments (with a little help!). The classes also reinforce skills like sharing, taking turns and positive social interactions while teaching about things like animals and space! When he is fussy at home, we often sing songs from class (or inspired by it) and he usually cheers up and starts dancing. No matter how rough of a night or day he has had, he is always happy at music class! read more

My almost 22 month old son LOVED the toddler class we took today. Ms. Amy is great! Lots of variation throughout the class with different instruments, songs, and other fun things like the parachute that we used with a couple of songs. All the things toddlers love! I've attended Maureen's classes for nearly two years now and I can't say enough about how much my kids enjoy going to her class. The classes are held in her home and the entire basement is a bright wonderland dedicated entirely to her music classes which makes for a very comfortable and warm environment. What do I love about Altitunes? 1-I love that I do not have to sign up for a session. Sessions have always been hard for me because I end up missing classes and losing money with our busy schedule and unexpected things that come up. I like the flexibility of signing up for the days and times that work based on how hectic our week is. 2-I love that Maureen plays a large variety of instruments (guitar, accordion, violin, autoharp, ukelele, and harmonica are just the few that I know about) and allows the children to take turns exploring and playing the instruments 3-I love that the classes are grouped by the child's development level. My son used to attend Toe Tappin' Toddler classes where he did toddler-aged activities with a lot of movement and has progressed to the preschool class where he's learning about sounds, cooperative instrument playing with plenty of movement still built in.. 4-Bubbles, Parachutes, Balls, and other props are integrated into the classes and what child (okay, adults too) doesn't love playing with the parachute and bubbles!?! 5-Maureen is a trained music therapist who is very thoughtful and deliberate in her approach and she's just darned nice and easy going. Kids love her! I have no ties to Altitunes other than being a very happy customer who has kids that absolutely LOVE going to music class. read more

My 2-year-old daughter LOVES going to this class. We just started going in May and try to go at least a couple times a month because she's always asking to go to "movie cwass" and is constantly singing the songs and talking about the instruments (particularly the "biolin") she gets to play. There are always new songs and instruments to play so the kiddos are exposed to a musical variety which is great - keeps things fresh and fun for the parents, too. I love that classes are so flexible, too. We can sign up for whatever days work best for us and the cost is very reasonable - super convenient and best price out there since it is not session-based. There are often great deals/specials, too, which is great for families on a budget like us. Also, Miss Maureen is very sweet and she knows all the kids by name. It was after the 3rd person asked me if I had gone to see the Music Lady that I finally decided to give Altitunes a try. I wish I hadn't waited so long! Miss Maureen is amazing and if you think a baby won't enjoy a music class - think again. We have been attending classes since my daughter was 5 months old and it's incredible to see how she participates and enjoys our time every week. At just 7 months she has had the opportunity to strum away at a guitar, thump away at a giant drum and even hold the bow of a violin (as Miss Maureen assists her at playing a song). I've been bringing my 1 year old daughter to the Movers class almost every week for the past few months. She has so much every single time. The songs are engaging, the toys are fun, and I have noticed that this class has really aided in her development. The class has really strengthened her skills like waving and clapping, as well as following simple instructions. Most importantly, she has a huge smile every time we enter the building. I am a mother of two boys, 3 yo and 6 mo. I had just moved to a new city when my first son was born. Being a new mom in a new city I wanted to seek out stimulating activities that would enhance the lives of both me, and my child. I attended both Gymboree play & music classes as well as Musikgarten classes. Gymboree was and is wonderful. We participated in play and music classes for 3 years. However, their music classes cannot even come close in comparison to the classes offered by Maureen Hopkins of Altitunes. Gymboree and Musikgarten played music on a CD player and offered only simple instruments for the kids to use to participate. Maureen is a talented and experienced musician therefore she was able to incorporate multiple musical instruments into the opening and closing songs allowing the children to contribute to the tune under her assistance and 'play' along; for i.e. autoharp, electric (my 3yo's favorite) and acoustic guitar, violin, accordion; thus inspiring and encouraging young children to learn to play a musical instruments themselves. Maureen developed the music for her classes herself and she recorded the songs incorporated in the class onto two CDs available for purchase. So songs that the kids get to dance and sing along to during the class can be listened to in the car - perfect for long trips for my toddler and any trip for my infant. My 6mo immediately is soothed when he is crying in the backseat when I play her CD. Her In Tune With You has proven even more effective than Raffi! And, her Galloping With Ponies CD was designed so toddlers can play toddler-friendly instruments along with the songs - a hit with my 3yo. I have participated in two of the many classes Maureen has developed for young children from ages 0-7. One class is designed for siblings. Accommodating children who have such a gap in developmental abilities is a tough task but she was absolutely effective and successful at doing so. I would absolutely recommend Altitunes! If you live in the Denver area and have small children and are looking for a fun class to participate in that would enhance the lives of your family or are looking for a music teacher for a young child - Maureen is the best! read more

Wow, we just got done with our 4 year olds birthday party here and it was amazing! The kids had a blast and Ms. Susie and Ms. Jackie were so sweet and fun, they handled the kids beautifully. I highly recommend Altitunes for a birthday party. We had never been there before but heard about through a friend and it exceeded my expectations! I am not sure if they loved the bouncy bulls, the beanbags, the obstacle course, or the black light drum the most. Plenty of smiles and exercise was had by all. So much fun and a neat idea. Maureen is amazing and has become such an integral part of my toddler's life that she remembers Maureen in her prayers at night. We started attending classes when our daughter was just 9 months old and still go now that she is nearly three, and the classes are invigotaring every time. The difference is in Maureen's skill, both with music and with children. She plays all her own instruments, which lets the kids understand that they can do it, too. And they get plenty of opportunities to strum, fiddle, drum, and shake so that they understand the connections between how they move and the noises that result. It's amazing. Plus, I don't have to commit to months of regularly scheduled classes, which is great for working moms. We can go on the weekends or even take a midweek trip to Maureen's if school's out. My last rave is about her parties: we've had Maureen provide the entertainment at our last two events and both have been incredible. She totally shined at our daughter's second birthday party and also kept the children totally engaged and out of the adults' hair at a fundraiser we had at our house. And the bill for both parties was totally reasonable...much cheaper than throwing a party at a restaurant or event center, and the entertainment was far superior! Can't say enough good things about Maureen and Altitunes. read more

I have been taking my son to Miss Maureen's music class since he was about 4 months old, and he is now almost 2. She is amazing!! He always has so much fun in her class! She is very talented and incorporates that in her teaching, giving the children hands on instrument playing almost the entire class. I have taken my son to 3 different music classes for children, she is by far the best!!! There are even bubbles which is one of my son's favorite part of the class! He also uses sign quite frequently that he has learned from her class. His love and appreciation for music is apparent, and I believe Altitunes has a lot to do with that!! read more

We LOVE Altitunes!! We have been coming here weekly since my son turned 1 (in fact we had his first birthday party at Altitunes which was wonderful!!) and I credit Maureen for helping him with everything from turn-taking, to transitions between activities, to advancing his vocabularly. My son sings the songs from class all week long, and this is absolutely the highlight of his week. We've tried pretty much every other music class in town at one point of another, and this is by far the absolute best (by far!). The class is very thoughtful, with every song incorporating some concept like a letter sound, a new movement, purposeful vocabulary, etc... I can't say enough good things about it!! read more
