Plenty of things to do for kiddos - absolutely adorable petting zoo creatures- $5 to get in with them but if money is tight, the kids can easily see them up close without the fee. Bales of hay are set up in a maze for which there was no charge to play in and around. It was super cool to get to walk around the pumpkin fields filled with various kinds of pumpkins, squash and other gourds. They provide heavy duty wagons to carry your haul. Vendor on premises with freshly made to order burgers and drinks and picnic tables available to eat at. The pumpkins are on the pricey side but also organic and very cool looking, some creepy looking as well.

One of the workers treated a child of color in our group with clear disrespect and hostility--behavior that felt blatantly racist. He singled the child out and even said something along the lines of "you'll put me out of business," which was completely inappropriate and uncalled for. His entire demeanor toward the kids, especially the child of color, was rude and unwelcoming. No one--especially children--should ever be made to feel unwelcome or targeted because of their race. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this place to anyone, and I especially caution families of color. Extremely disappointed and will not return.

Bought some fantastic bread from Beck's Bakery, and some wonderful, fresh veggies from a local organic grower. Tried 3 food vendors; 1 was great, 1 was good, 1 was a waste of $16 (for my tastes, anyway).

For this cidery I tried two of their ciders, both which were very refreshing to drink. These Nuts was the first cider I tried. It did come across as nutty but other features to it were Apple, dryness and a bit of spice. The second cider came highly recommended so I gave it a try which was their Cherry Cider which was sweet, tart, clean flavored and sour. Definitely enjoyable ciders and relaxing and moody atmosphere makes this place very suitable to kick back and relax a while.

It hit the spot on a sunny Eureka day. To my surprise, I got a freebie, with the barista making more than what would fit in the cup. The excess was poured into an additional cup, and given for free. I really want to give it 5 stars - the only downside was - and I have to be honest - there was a homeless man who came into the cafe and started yelling repeatedly at the clerk and other patrons. This is NOT the fault of the owners but when I'm in side of a restaurant or cafe and eating I think it's reasonable to want to feel safe. I recently needed to buy 40 pumpkins for an event at Humboldt State University. I contacted and attempted to contact 2 other local farms. Bayside (Jayme) promptly responded to my emails and to a phone call. When I arrived, the pumpkins were picked and staff were kind enough to help us load the pumpkins into my truck. In general, the farmers were friendly and the whole place was really neat! I'm excited to go back and hoping they will let me walk the 3 acres and explore their farm!
