The main, biggest happening, throughout the summer and into fall, is in the Town Square in Garberville, where stall after stall offers a full range of delicious vegetables and fruits, baked goods, craft items, beautiful plants, flowers, and more. Often there is music! I just returned from today's market with a few plants (a trailing rosemary, a heritage petunia, a deep red flowered flowering maple), a loaf of pumpkin spice bread, and the most delicious whole wheat sour dough bread I have ever tasted (and I'm gobbling it now. I may try to hide it from the family). It is a Friday celebration, a great place to bump into friends, and...oh, so delicious, yum, must get back to this bread. Oh, the G'ville Farmer's Market is on Fridays. The one on the Avenue is on Tuesdays, I believe.

Bought some fantastic bread from Beck's Bakery, and some wonderful, fresh veggies from a local organic grower. Tried 3 food vendors; 1 was great, 1 was good, 1 was a waste of $16 (for my tastes, anyway).

Would have benefited from more obvious signage off of Old Arcata Road as it snuck up on me requiring a last second turn (my first time here). Plenty of things to do for kiddos - absolutely adorable petting zoo creatures- $5 to get in with them but if money is tight, the kids can easily see them up close without the fee. Bales of hay are set up in a maze for which there was no charge to play in and around. It was super cool to get to walk around the pumpkin fields filled with various kinds of pumpkins, squash and other gourds. They provide heavy duty wagons to carry your haul. Vendor on premises with freshly made to order burgers and drinks and picnic tables available to eat at. The pumpkins are on the pricey side but also organic and very cool looking, some creepy looking as well.

My friend urged me to visit telling me that we could buy "the best peaches in the world!" We stopped by on a beautiful day in July and grabbed some peaches, lemon cucumbers, zucchini and tomatoes. We only had about $25 cash on us, and when our total came to $25.47, the owner told us to "not worry about it." He was very kind and was sure to ask me if I had any questions about the produce. The sweet little open air stand had an old drink cooler and was decorated with fresh wildflowers. It almost felt like stepping back into time. I love to support small businesses like this, especially ones who have been around for so long! I will now be adding Trinity River Farms as a routine stop every time I head to Willow Creek!

We met several of the makers and growers of the goods. They served us delicious cheeses, sweets, and local wine/ciders. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The vibe was local and friendly. I can't wait to go back to grocery shop. So many great locally made items like Botany Babe lip balm, beautiful earrings, aprons, jams, and so many other things! Plus there is this cool pottery painting studio next door and rental-able space for small gatherings. Such an Incredible local resource. Go check it out!

Unacceptable behavior and discrimination…read more I had a deeply troubling experience at Noble Berry Farm. One of the workers treated a child of color in our group with clear disrespect and hostility--behavior that felt blatantly racist. He singled the child out and even said something along the lines of "you'll put me out of business," which was completely inappropriate and uncalled for. His entire demeanor toward the kids, especially the child of color, was rude and unwelcoming. No one--especially children--should ever be made to feel unwelcome or targeted because of their race. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this place to anyone, and I especially caution families of color. Extremely disappointed and will not return.
