Getting out in nature was just what I needed. Love how many (not all) of the camp sites feel very private and separated by foliage. The bathrooms were clean and usually pretty empty since most folks had a camper.

Deer Creek is a good park. It has a pretty lake. That's the centerpiece of the park. It also has a beach. The lodge is the worst. Avoid the lodge. It will ruin your experience. The other arrangements will all be much better than that. It has several pretty decent looking cabins. There's also areas for motor homes or trailers. Either of these would be better than staying in the lodge, which is outdated. The park itself takes up a large area around the lake, including several activities and sites. Be sure to see the dam. There's an area between the dam and information center where you can read about the history. Another place to go is the beach. They often don't have a lifeguard on duty, so be careful especially if you have kids. The best thing here is the lake. It always looks nice no matter how the weather is. The park is just kind of out of the way from the highway, but not too far though.

deercreek was a lot of fun. my verizon was spotty and worked best around the park area but it did what i needed it to. we rode scooters around and had a blast! the golf was free at the time which was even better. theres even a dogpark. we went paddle boarding and kayaking which was so much fun. i would definitely recommend!

My review is for the park and not the lodge. I have not been to the lodge and I'm pretty sure they have their own page on yelp. Overall, the parks in Ohio have far passed my expectations. Deer creek is pretty close to where I live so we come here atleast once a week. They have a couple really nice playgrounds for the kids and plenty of good fishing places. There are public hunting grounds, an outdoor shooting range, and an outdoor archery range. We mostly come here for the archery range. It's really awesome for a free archery range. There is an area to shoot targets as well as different targets through a path in the forest. It's very beautiful and calming. Most of the time we are the only ones here too. I definitely enjoy our visits here and we will keep on coming back. I'd like to try renting one of the small cabins they have available off the lake.

This is the view of the Deer Creek State Park lake, taken from a table in the dining room. It was an early Fall evening in Oct.

The staff at the office were helpful and friendly. There are lots of amenities here with a gun range that only costs 5.00 a day with permit, a beach and awesome frisbee golf course! So I'm currently staying in one of the worst RV Parks in the country. I've been to all 4 corners. I…read morehave something to compare it too. This park is, Deer Creek Campground resort in ohio. Not the state park. The word "resort", is a joke. This is the nastiest park I've ever had the misfortune of staying at. Trust me when I tell you, I've been in many. Being Labor day weekend, we couldn't find another RV park with availability until after the weekend. A few Details, No dump, water is a cross between lead and urine smelling that leaves a black ring in the sinks and bowl, and that was just after a couple days. No soap or towels in the 2 bathrooms. there is "crap covered toilet paper", that lines the bushes, see pictures. No one has cleaned it up, and we have been here a week. Trails to the creek covered in trash, crap and tissue. Literally "crap" every where, No restrooms, or portapotties, for the over crowded park except in the front. 90% of the Trailers are from the 60/70s, not just one or two but most. Majority covered in tarps and metals with junk everywhere. Some (several) Jacked up with no tires. I counted maybe 3 newer models, mine being one of them. I stressed my concern of the safety of this park as it looks like, crack head hell. So let the bullying begin. As I pulled in today, I was confronted by the handy man who chose to scream and spit on me through his 5 good teeth, telling me I'm speeding. Yet I stopped before running his hillbilly ass over. As the oener is screaming at me to slow down from her drunkin stooper. So I get to my RV, and here comes queen of the traiter park to tell me I was due to leave today at 2:00 or pay rent. I apologized for speeding at 6 mph, and she said I was rude for rolling the window up in toothless handy mans face. I apologised again stating, I'm sorry I thought he was done Spitting on me. After her departure, several other campers came by to state they were treated the same. Being queen of a camp ground must have a new platform of honor, trailer trash at its best. We did make great new friends, so it wasn't a total loss.

The site was a gravel base which was nice but, the electric outlet was way in the back and the water spicket was way in the front, on the wrong side. I've never seen a site set up like that before. It was very tricky getting the RV in just the right spot so that electric cord would reach, but I couldn't get the hose to reach so I ended up borrowing a hose extension.

The staff is wonderful, very helpful and friendly and will go out of their way to help you. They ARE very pet friendly, (we have two cats and a dog) you just have to clean up after your pets and keep them on a leash. The bathrooms are clean and air-conditioned. The grounds are very well maintained and they have pump out service for a small fee (if you get a site that doesn't have septic) and RV service and repair. They installed our new air conditioner and did a fantastic job. They also have fun events here. We will be staying here every time we come to Ohio. Don't be fooled by a poor review. This park is awesome. You should definitely check it out.

We accepted thinking it would be great to all be in one place. Mistake !!! The bunkhouse was not ready for renters. The place was still dirty from construction and many things not working. The dishwasher, central Heat & AC, and ice maker. This place had two bathrooms and no shower! The showers there cost .25 cents for 4 minutes. Our one cabin we originally rented had a bath and shower. This was unfortunate for us, we stayed two nights and left. The day we left they had gravel delivered in the front of bunkhouse which we were told will be the parking area for the bunkhouse and laundry facility. Which was inside bunkhouse with only a door separation. A terrible vacation choice for us.
