An absolute gem in the middle of Oregon Wine Country!…read more A beautifully restored farm property with five well-appointed rooms, each with a serene, private patio, king sized bed, heated bathroom floors, corner fireplace, and large tub. The rooms are clean and spacious with coffee makers, refrigerators, and comfortable furnishings. The true highlight however, is the amazing breakfast! Each day we were treated to fresh coffee, homemade scones, yogurt with fresh fruit, a hearty main course, and fresh smoothies. Everything we had over the three days was incredible and perfect before a day of wine tasting. Dan and Maureen are very personable and kind and have truly created a tranquil, comfortable, and gorgeous property that we highly recommend! The definition of a true bed and breakfast!

There's a nice private patio to relax and enjoy a glass of Oregon Pinot Noir. Each room has a king-size memory foam bed, en-suite bath with heated floors, large soaking tub, coffee maker, and more..... A farm-fresh 4-course gourmet breakfast served each morning at 9:00am, they will ask what time you want it served. I enjoyed fresh baked scones, yogurt parfait, banana smoothie, and smoked salmon scramble. A nice hearty breakfast to get your day started for wine tasting. There is a two night stay minimum. Inspiring and energetic local art adorns the walls by Jo Morton from Eugene. They are centrally located to many wineries and downtown Newberg. Say hi to George the cat. Dan and Maureen are as nice at they come! Enjoy

We were greeted at the desk by Ryan with a glass of their sister winery's rose and then proceeded on a tour of the inn. It is a small boutique inn with only about 18 rooms total. I believe while we were there, there may have been maybe 4-5 other couples (that we only saw at breakfast). It is just a lovely place with a sitting room with a huge fireplace, a quaint breakfast room, and several patio areas with fire pits overlooking the valley. One firepit stays on all the time (already I was excited to "need" a firepit in August!). Ryan then walked us across the entryway to a separate smaller building and into our room which was the Deluxe Valley View room...with glass doors that opened directly onto a sweet little patio with adirondack chairs and table overlooking the vineyard. We spent every morning here drinking tea before breakfast and most evenings here drinking wine before bed. And speaking of breakfast! Every morning was a treat...several options you can choose from, mix and match your pastry with your fresh fruit with your main dish with your beverage with your coffee, all a great way to bellywad before a day of wine tastings! Do yourself a favor and get the SCONE every morning! I discovered that sadly on my last day :( All of the staff were super sweet and accommodating. The room was beautiful and the bed was comfy! But that view tho! Makes me want to submit a resume!

Their common areas include a dining room, a living room, a small library (with books and games) and TV room, as well as front and back porches. We originally booked the Oregon Trail room, but Kristin offered to upgrade us to the Oregon Coast room at a discounted rate. We chose the Oregon Coast room for the private balcony and stunning views over the valley. The room was lovely and comfortable. Toiletries, robes, and slippers are all provided for the guests. Our room also had an electric fireplace, which was nice. There was no TV, but that wasn't an issue for us. This is their handicapped accessible room, so there were extra shower and toilet seat handle bars. We stayed two nights and enjoyed two amazing breakfasts prepared by Ayelet. Over the two days, we were treated to blueberry French Toast, a poached pear, homemade bread, scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, blueberry scones, and a baked apple. Plus a selection of their homemade jelly/jam. A lot of the ingredients were sourced right from the property. While we ate, Ayelet asked us about our plans for the day, and she offered super helpful suggestions on what to do, where to go, what to eat. She even gave us printed maps! Some other noteworthy items: you get one free T-shirt with your stay; you have a choice of breakfast at 8 or 9 am; there are coolers, sunscreen, and sunglasses you can borrow; they ask your breakfast beverage of choice and usually have it out in the dining room an hour before your breakfast time; there are always homemade cookies, water, and glasses by the mini fridge; you can buy their homemade jam/jelly as well as T-shirts, mugs, coasters, etc. We loved our stay here. The view was gorgeous, the food was delicious, our room was comfortable, and Ayelet was amazing!

Overwhelmed by all the wineries? They can help navigate with excellent suggestions. Breakfast is offered at 8 or 9 am - my only suggestion would be having coffee available at 7am to hold me over (coming from east coast, even 8am was late for me). Even the jams at breakfast are for sale, and reasonably priced for the unique combinations. An outstanding base for a few days in Oregon's beautiful wine country.

She sent us a ceremony we could edit, incorporating our own written vows and the ring-exchange sections; we could see the flow of the ceremony beforehand and knew it would be natural and lovely. It was. Harold McKay grew up on the beautiful wine-country land where the inn is located, and he and Leah create a graceful, easy, peaceful atmosphere both on the site where outdoor ceremonies take place and in the room we had for the night. In the morning on the day after our ceremony, Harold made us an absolutely fantastic breakfast--fluffy scrambled eggs, beer pancakes, bacon, orange juice, coffee. (He and Leah, John, and I had such a great breakfast, laughing and telling stories, that John and I didn't want to leave.) We sincerely recommend Owls Nest Inn as the place for your wedding

I had the pleasure of staying here this past weekend for a wedding, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear this place operates on a different level. Great hotels have great amenities; extraordinary hotels have extraordinary staff. Andy at the concierge desk was the definition of going above and beyond. He anticipated our needs, took care of every detail, and made us feel like we were the only guests in the building. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare, and it's exactly what transforms a stay into an experience. If you're in the Portland area and looking for more than just a getaway -- if you want to feel genuinely taken care of -- The Allison Inn & Spa is an absolute must.
