The gal behind the counter was very kind and explained to each wine to us and how it was named after the three daughters of the owners of the winery. The view is beautiful and the wine was tasty. Since it is after harvest, they had sheep wandering around the vineyard, it is an organic winery so they said the sheep were fertilizing. I believe it is also woman owned. They also have hairy coo cows. My friends are in the area for a few months and really like this winery a lot. I'm glad they shared it with me.

When we arrived the room was not available, so they put me upstairs the first night, then moved me to a cold damp basement the second night. Later we found out the owner wanted to put one of her friends in the room I reversed. Research after the trip was over, found this appears to be a common practice. There cases reservations were just cancelled at the whim of the owner. Just be aware if you decide to stay here, they do not honor reservations.

The innkeeper was quite intense and frequently interrupted us throughout our stay, repeatedly referring to us as "kids," which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. During breakfast, the interruptions were so frequent that it was difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. We had specifically booked our room for the hot tub, but it wasn't hot during our stay. When we mentioned it, the response was that there had been kids in it the night before and maybe something had gone wrong. No solution, alternative, or adjustment was offered. My colleague Paul started looking at the vacation rentals, and pointed me to the Pinot Quarters. What a find! Since I'm renting for months rather than days I got a rate that is MUCH nicer than the daily. But it wouldn't be bad for a daily rental, especially for a family. You'll be getting the second floor of a spacious gingerbread Victorian house that was built in the 1920's and recently renovated. There are two bedrooms and two hide-a-beds, so it seems like the place could sleep somewhere between five an eight, depending on how 'friendly' everybody is. The kitchen is well equipped except for pots and pans. I've got one frying pan and one small sauce pan. There's a stove, microwave, dishwasher and disposal. The kitchen table is small for more than two people. There is a large bathroom with two sinks, toilet, shower and a large soaking bathtub which is sadly not jetted. There is no garage but you do get off-street parking. Almost enough towels for a rugby team. The parking garage across the street is a bit of an eyesore, but c'est la vie. The house has lots of nice little architectural details, like the sun windows on the corners of the house, antique door handles and stained glass. The windows are large and plentiful so the place is glowing and warm on sunny day. I'm enjoying my stay here, and dreading the day when the 'wine country' tourists arrive to pay full price, and I have to decamp to a hotel.

It is easy to have a good night's sleep here. It is very quiet. We loved Brigitte's breakfasts. Each morning she and Clark would say hello and then Brigitte would cook a fresh made breakfast for us! Everything was excellent. We especially loved her homemade granola. We will certainly return next time we visit the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Breakfast is included and prepared by one of wine country's best chefs. What makes it even more amazing is the setting. There are paths through the woods and an adjacent regenerative farm with plenty of things to explore. It even gets better, a nearby tennis/pickleball court is part of the program. Joka is an amazing hostess, along with Maggie, the Bichon, who is super adorable. The breakfasts are something to be experienced (sad I didn't get pictures) and are the perfect way to start your day. Joka is not just an amazing hostess, she is also a wonderful cook. We stayed in the Sunflower room (Eola Hills Room), which is the only room without a bathroom in the room, however the hall bath is right there and it's private to you only so it was not a big deal. The Inn is walking distance to a quaint downtown with some great places to eat and wine taste. It is also central to driving to other little towns. If we are in the area again, this will be a must return place to stay.
