Until you stay here and meet Jerry, it's really hard to understand how great this place is. Jerry…read morehas had a lifelong passion to create the best B&B possible and nearly all aspects of our experience clearly communicated how well Jerry's vision has been manifested. The reservation and check-in process was totally smooth. Jerry showed us the room and gave us the key to use to enter our room and the building later. After that he gave us plenty of dinner recommendations where we had a nice outing. The room itself was very modern and nice. The bed was very comfortable with all kinds of sheets and pillows that allowed my wife and me to pick one that was just right for each of us. The room also had plenty of space for all our stuff. The temperature was just right and was able to get more than warm enough with the fireplace and two forced air heaters (one for the bedroom and one for the bathroom). The bathroom was also very nice too. It had a large shower, two sinks and all the fixings a hotel room has. We also noticed some bathrobes, but didn't end up trying those on. In the morning, we came up to the dining area for breakfast and had an amazing breakfast made by Jerry. The amount of food was by no means too small and came with local coffee and orange juice. There was even bread that came from a local bakery. This breakfast was one of the best I've had anywhere. We also enjoyed having conversations with Jerry about his passion for this B&B and other topics too. The location of this place is great for all kinds of activities. There are wineries, a number of nice restaurants in Newberg and all these random agricultural-themed attractions nearby. We stopped by a barn store and got a pie on the way home! It's also fairly close to Portland and family we stay with when we visit. All in all, we left this place with great memories and the pleasure of having been part of someone's lifelong passion of hospitality. We're writing this review to recommend this place to others and will definitely be telling anyone visiting the area to consider staying here.

Their common areas include a dining room, a living room, a small library (with books and games) and TV room, as well as front and back porches. We originally booked the Oregon Trail room, but Kristin offered to upgrade us to the Oregon Coast room at a discounted rate. We chose the Oregon Coast room for the private balcony and stunning views over the valley. The room was lovely and comfortable. Toiletries, robes, and slippers are all provided for the guests. Our room also had an electric fireplace, which was nice. There was no TV, but that wasn't an issue for us. This is their handicapped accessible room, so there were extra shower and toilet seat handle bars. We stayed two nights and enjoyed two amazing breakfasts prepared by Ayelet. Over the two days, we were treated to blueberry French Toast, a poached pear, homemade bread, scrambled eggs, diced potatoes, blueberry scones, and a baked apple. Plus a selection of their homemade jelly/jam. A lot of the ingredients were sourced right from the property. While we ate, Ayelet asked us about our plans for the day, and she offered super helpful suggestions on what to do, where to go, what to eat. She even gave us printed maps! Some other noteworthy items: you get one free T-shirt with your stay; you have a choice of breakfast at 8 or 9 am; there are coolers, sunscreen, and sunglasses you can borrow; they ask your breakfast beverage of choice and usually have it out in the dining room an hour before your breakfast time; there are always homemade cookies, water, and glasses by the mini fridge; you can buy their homemade jam/jelly as well as T-shirts, mugs, coasters, etc. We loved our stay here. The view was gorgeous, the food was delicious, our room was comfortable, and Ayelet was amazing!

Overwhelmed by all the wineries? They can help navigate with excellent suggestions. Breakfast is offered at 8 or 9 am - my only suggestion would be having coffee available at 7am to hold me over (coming from east coast, even 8am was late for me). Even the jams at breakfast are for sale, and reasonably priced for the unique combinations. An outstanding base for a few days in Oregon's beautiful wine country.

What an amazing surprise from my sweet husband…read more My husband surprise booked a night and whole day spa for my 40th birthday. I had no idea I was coming here, even less idea of the services I was getting. But here we are. We started off with Maisy doing my mud treatment Then Trisha who did my massage during a couple treatment Followed by for my hydrofacial What an incredible time here. Honestly it's clean, service so friendly, so professional and very relaxing. I was blessed that I came with some girlfriends before Covid but have not been back since. What a blessing to be surprised by my husband for this lovely treat.

Last Christmas, I purchased a gift card for my wife for Spa sessions at The Allison Inn and Spa…read more I've had my eye on the place ever since I heard they offered quality facilities and services. She is a two-time breast cancer survivor, and this time, 5 years ago, had gone through a double mastectomy, and then some major reconstruction surgery after that, earlier in the year. I wanted to give her some quality time at the best spa in the region. Our daughter, who recently moved to the area from Virginia, made plans to go with her since she practically lived in spas back in VA and wanted to check out this local Spa. My daughter owns her own business and was in a busy time of year so it took them months to settle on a day when they could both enjoy the day together. The day before they were to go, my daughter was called away on an urgent trip out of the country. The Allison Spa has a 48-hour cancellation policy but we explained this was truly an emergency on my daughter's part. We even offered to show them her plane ticket for her trip. I can understand the business reason for a cancellation policy, employees are brought in to serve clients, space is made available for scheduled guests, it is important in order to make a business run smoothly. It is also a business decision to allow or deny someone not wanting to have to pay the penalty for cancelling an appointment the day before the appointment. That decision that day cost them probable monthly visits from my daughter, and being crossed off my list of places I would recommend people to go to enjoy quality spa services. My wife loved the massage she received and said Sydny was amazing; however, my wife is 5' tall, she had a very hard time in the hydro bath, slipping down in the tub to where she had to hold on to the side for almost the whole treatment to keep from going under. When the assistant came, her comment was: "I'll tell the management". There is a waiting area at the spa check-in counter for people waiting for the clients to come out from the Spa itself. I waited there for about a half hour knowing they would come get me when she came out. She had been out for almost that half hour and hadn't been told I was waiting, I was pretty much ignored. I know, I sound like a complainer, but this was supposed to be a special day, and it wasn't close to what I hoped it would be for her. The cancellation fee cut into her gift card package and she did not get the full benefit of it. I'm trying to be fair to the Allison, and actually my lunch there was excellent and the service and attitude of employees, with the exception of the Spa counter staff, throughout was excellent. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. However, I am extremely disappointed and still very upset with the treatment my wife, my daughter and I received from the Spa. I hope it was an anomaly for The Allison's sake.

We were greeted with friendly smiles from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The decor has a classy rustic vibe and everything is high quality and very comfortable. The room is fresh and ultra clean (even in the corners!). There's a beautiful tasting room on property, a cozy/casual cellar bar, and an award-winning restaurant with a 10 course prix fixe dining experience. We were greeted at the desk by Ryan with a glass of their sister winery's rose and then proceeded on a tour of the inn. It is a small boutique inn with only about 18 rooms total. I believe while we were there, there may have been maybe 4-5 other couples (that we only saw at breakfast). It is just a lovely place with a sitting room with a huge fireplace, a quaint breakfast room, and several patio areas with fire pits overlooking the valley. One firepit stays on all the time (already I was excited to "need" a firepit in August!). Ryan then walked us across the entryway to a separate smaller building and into our room which was the Deluxe Valley View room...with glass doors that opened directly onto a sweet little patio with adirondack chairs and table overlooking the vineyard. We spent every morning here drinking tea before breakfast and most evenings here drinking wine before bed. And speaking of breakfast! Every morning was a treat...several options you can choose from, mix and match your pastry with your fresh fruit with your main dish with your beverage with your coffee, all a great way to bellywad before a day of wine tastings! Do yourself a favor and get the SCONE every morning! I discovered that sadly on my last day :( All of the staff were super sweet and accommodating. The room was beautiful and the bed was comfy! But that view tho! Makes me want to submit a resume!

We were lucky enough to stay for two nights at The DreamGiver's Inn, and I was so regretful for not making the trip a little longer. This place is truly a dream. The drive from Portland wasn't bad at all (under an hour!) and was really quite beautiful as we made our way. While driving the winding roads filled with fall colors, we spotted the Inn, thanks to its charming shade of red. We checked in around 4pm, and Grace was there to greet us and help us to our room. She was an incredibly welcoming host, and made the experience even more special. We stayed in the "Grace" room, and it was absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing. The room had a huge window seat, and the first couple of hours we were there, we sat there watching the rain and relaxing. Grace had all the makings for hot tea downstairs, which was a perfect match for the moment. We had so many plans that we canceled just so we could sit on that damn window seat and enjoy the view! Mornings at The DreamGivers Inn are the stuff dreams are made of. We usually wandered downstairs around 8:30pm to get some coffee and enjoy one of Grace's baked goods... she made the most amazing banana bread, lemon blueberry scones, and the list goes on. It's a perfect time to wake up slowly and soak in the views of rolling hills, vineyards, and trees. She had breakfast out every morning at 9am, and holy cow, was it amazing. We got to enjoy yogurt parfaits (made with the best local ingredients), egg scrambles, vegetables from the garden, and homemade jams. Can you see why we never wanted to leave? While some would shy away from going to Oregon during the rainy season, the weather ended up being a perfect match for the cozy atmosphere this beautiful sanctuary provided. I cannot recommend this spot enough! Thank you for a couple incredibly relaxing and peaceful days.
